  1. Mike,

Sorry to hear about your trip home. We made it home Thursday around noon, hubby drove it back 24 1/2 hours, I slept most of it. I would wake up when the gas would build up and we would get out and walk around. I haven't had any problems at all. I start my summer school program on Monday, so I am just doing a little house work and taking it easy.

Keep in touch and we will all have to keep each other in line.

    Heidi,

ps easy on the coffee :D

  2. I came out of surgery yesterday about 3:45is. It was a piece of cake. I wouldn't say it is painful, more discomfort than anything. Walk, Walk, WALK is all I can say, it does helpt with the gas pains (Last night the five of us who had surgery (Luci, Shannon, Daniel, and Mike) were all walking around the center with our IV carts. That was a site. Only problem I had was that I sleep on my stomach so sleeping on my back made for a long night. The staff here is wonderful. I know I am not even a day out, but I would do it all over again. We are fixing to check out and head back to the hotel.

Don't be nervous like I was, you are in great hands.

Bless you all for the prayers and well wishes.

  3. We are leaving at 6:00 in the morning on our way to California. I am offically packed and a nervous wreck. I know that everything will be fine, it is just the waiting game that is driving me nuts. We are planning on making it to Flagstaff tomorrow night, going to the Grand Canyon and driving on to Hollywood on Thursday evening. I can't wait to get to Hollywood. I am hoping that maybe being there will ease the nerves a little. We are going to drive into San Diego on Sunday morning and be picked up at 10 at the airport. The time is almost here, I can't wait to join the other side. Wish me luck and I will keep you posted on everything that happens along the way.

I hope to meet some of you there.

  4. I can't believe that I am leaving one week from today to head to CA. We are driving out and making a mini vacation out of it. I can't wait to meet some of the wonderful people that I have "met" on here. You all have helped me be sure this is the right thing for me. Good luck to those who are having surgery and keep us posted. I can't wait to join you.

  5. At least that is what they told me when i had my c-section

and i had to take out my "downstairs" piercing.

Don't worry, taking it out for a few hours won't do anything.

just lube it up w/ neosporin when you take it out and put it back in.

LOL Glad to know I'm not the only one who has to remove that one when having surgery :o

  6. I am from Oklahoma as well. I am going to be banded on June 2 by Dr. Ortiz. I have a friend that was banded in Dallas and paid over 20 G's for the surgery. He goes to Owasso and gets his fills. I asked if the dr. he goes to will do fills on people who have gone to MX for the surgery and he will. It costs 350 for the fills and he does the barium and xray. I still think I will go back to MX for my first fill just so they can check their own work and give me some piece of mind.

The process is very easy. Lori is great and will answer all of your questions. Everyone on here is wonderful about helping ease the nerves too. Ask lots of questions and good luck in your journey!

  7. I just wanted to show everyone my new haircut. I cut about 6 or 7 inches off. Hair hasn't been this short since elementary school. I figure after the band I am going to be a new woman so I just wanted to start the process a little early. I have pics in my album of what my hair was like. 2 weeks until I leave for CA then MX!!!!

  8. I will be banded the day before you are. I am sure that you will find out the answers to all or most of your questions on here. I am on here every day just looking and learning from everyone elses experiences (it helps with the nerves). I look forward to meeting you in MX, hopefully I will be up and about when you get there.

  9. I am being banded on the 2nd, but I am staying an extra night at the resort so I will still be there when you and your parents get to TJ. I am so nervous/excited/scared. I can't wait to have the surgery. I have been on the pre-op diet for three days now and I'm doing pretty good. I am a teacher and since we are having end of the year parties at school it has been a little hard to stick to the diet, but this is the reason I started it early. I can't wait to meet you. Keep posting, the people on here are wonderful and full of advice.

(i'm going to have to try that schedule, I think that will be A LOT EASIER)
