  1. Here's a visual image of what dolittle is talking about:

The 4cc and 10cc band (pretty much the same size opening when fully filled):

    Great visual Michelle,

I know this is the wrong string to write this, but I have to giggle when I see you in your suit....just look at how much of the bikini is showing under your (top) and how much bigger the suit looks on the bottom, you must be out of you mind with excitment! You are so beautiful!!

  2. Bill, Tracy,

You most likely should go in for an un-fill. But also remember what makes us tight - it’s the swelling. Whether its caused by continued BPing, TOM, stress, certain foods or whatever – if you can’t control those (meditating, no salty foods, chewing, eating slow, lots of water, whatever) you need help. Tracy, try not to eat at least an hour before bed time, and then before bed cap it with some soothing warm herb tea to help you sleep and make sure your pouch is clear. (you may already do this - just checking)

Remember, in addition if we loose weight our bands loosen. So Bill this is for you. You may want to try going on a low calorie liquid diet for a few days to try and reduce the swelling. If you start with a high protein shake in the AM to keep you energy level up, what this can do is allow the swelling to go down and you will most likely drop some weight which will also help loosen the band – try to stop the bad food choices, the truth is they are most likely hurting your energy level – they help for a short time and then you have the plunge which is the worse thing you can do.

I know its hard, I know its a pain - but if you're not going to go in for an un-fill you need to make sure you allow the swelling to go down and do whatever possible to stop having things come back up. Such as starting your morning with warm tea, and with every meal if needed.

Tracy you're had the band for a long time, have you had the two year check up where they do the thorough check up to see if you've had any erosions or other problems?

    Take care,

    Lisa

Hi Lisa, good advise. I never heard of this two year check up. Could you explain? Barbara

  3. Hello,

My food does not get stuck and I am able to eat 2-4 cups of food before I feel full enough and still be comfortable. I find that after about 10-15 minutes after eating I let out a HUGE, LONG, LOUD burb that sounds like a pluged drain gurgerling down the blocked up sink.

My question is: Am I doing something wrong? Is this okay or am I stretching out my pouch? The burb feels so good. And I feel so good after I do it. As long as no one is around. My husband finds it to be something to laugh at and a great amusment to him seeing that before the band I almost never farted or burbed around him. Welcome to the real world.

My weight loss is very slow. I was stuck in the low 180's for over a month. When I broke that platue I got stuck in the one I am at now, I have been staying at 173-175 for the last three weeks. I eat 1200 cal and keep track on fitday.com also do an hour on the tread mill at least 5 days a week. Tomorrow I start belly dance classes.

The doctors that I have been going to for fills for belives that I should have 5-6 fills over 6 months to reach my sweet spot. Grrr

I have had three fills and I am at 1.7cc in my 4cc band.

I am going to CT in one month and wanted to show off (I'm bad) my new body and would like a bigger fill, how do I get the PA to kick it up more for me?

Okay there are more than one question here. But any help is appreciated.

    Thanks , Barbara

  4. Hi Phoenix, My grown daughter and I have a condition that causes the tyroid to enlarge if we dont take thyroid supliments, I take Armour. It is a common one called Hasimotos Sythroiditis and it ts an imune decese. I'm sure your doctor will figure it out, but I can't see why they are making you wait until the 16th.

The tyroid controls so many functions in your body...including your moods, painful periods, constipation, hair and skin, and of course weight, just to nae a few.

  6. Hello, thanks for the advice, I thought that I had read here on the forum that others had heart pain too, but it has been so long that I wanted to be sure. The three months with the band sometimes feels like tree years.

You were all right it was GAS, becasue last night was unbeliveable!!!! I couldn't stop and they were loud and long. My husband said that he married his own whoopie cushion. LOL I can't believe so much air was in me. It went on for hours.

  7. Hi Everyone, I think that eating gives me a pain in my heart. Even when I don't feel full, it feels like the restriction is showing itself with heart pain. This has been going on for a couple of months now. Am I alone in this or are any of you feeling tightness in the heart area? Please let me know, it is starting to worry me. I don't have any heart problems that I know of, I am due for my yearly phsyical in a couple of months. I think it is related to the band, do you???

  8. I have been doing pretty good for a couple of months now, but recently we decided to move to another state and I am so freaked out about getting everything ready in that direction, that I haven't been logging my food, or execising. I don't even think about the band most of the time. A few times I really overate what I wanted and felt heart pain, that's it. I think I need a better fill, I had three fills in a 4 cc band for a total of 1.7.

I guess I need to always put the band habits that I am working to create first. Including reading and writting in this site.

  9. I have been banded less than 3 months and lost 30 pounds, so I can feel the port easily under the skin. It does not hurt and it doesn't show, only the scar shows. If it gets to be a problem and shows through the skin when I reach my goal weight and am at my sweet spot, the doctors in TJ said they will put it under the muscle instead of on top.

I don't feel any different, I want to. I want to not be able to eat so much and get a big enough fill. Don't worry, no one I have met ever regrets getting banded. The proof is in the weight loss for me.

  10. I know what you mean, I was 205 and 5'6". Also Mexico, are you out of your mind. But research and this site convienced me it was what I needed to do. Less than 3 months later I am 30 pounds less and much happier. My hubby ended up going with me to TJ and meet the sweetist friends there that I am still in touch with. What a bounus!!!

Only you know what weight you feel your best at physically and mentally

  11. I had one episode and not since. It's almost funny to have it happen the first time, I thought I was imune LOL

Be careful Honey, bread is hard for many...I don't eat it at all, not because I slimed on it, I didn't, it was chicken, BUT because I have heard of so many that do!

Have a great day, you'll be fine.

  12. Man oh Man Julie, I hope that this is over for you. That must have been so hurtful for you hear. I think the girl who passed it on to you was also hurt and it must have felt doubble worse. It is important that you stay as calm as you can or your going to flair up the fibro and who needs that?

You are doing great, we all love you and think you are the best. Hang in there girlfriend!
