  1. This whole thing has gone from sublime to ridiculous. I mean really. It's one thing to post your observations, offer support, challenge each other and the whole ball of wax but now a 'stand-off'? Give me a break. It goes to show how badly mishandled this has been. Now we have camps set up? I mean really people. I get censored for what I say and yet this has been allowed to go on and escalate to junior high school levels. What the hell is everybody thinking? This thing is way far off the rails and it's become a popularity contest.
  2. I think it's $100.00 here without flouro?
  3. OMG that was way too funny! I just spit water on my monitor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. =D> :lb24: :lb21: Congratulations!
  5. Holy smokes, May to August for a fill, talk about a struggle! It's good that you were able to get an appointment with your fill centre to tide you over. You'll have the advantage of having some fill before you do your flouro and you will get to see what that cc percentage looks like overall in your band. That's awesome! Congrats!
  6. I wondered exactlyt the same thing but I can't find an answer for that one. Good question!
  7. That is TOO AWESOME!! YAY FOR YOU and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Joyful, ain't it! hehe
  9. Julie, in my opinion, your brain is your most powerful tool. You need to keep retraining it and change the way you think and eventually you will just start living bandster life out of habit. Even on those last two days on liquids when I thought I was starving I just dug down deep and reinforced "bandster living" rules. For me personally to cheat once opens the door to repeat behaviours and I can't risk that. We will all have those moments of weakness, it's human nature, but try to stay the course, if you fall just get right back up and go back to bandster 101. I continue to keep reading although admittedly it gets rather repetitive because I want it to be entrenched in my day to day thinking. Out with the old, in with the new. My approach isn't for everyone. I get that but it is how I am getting through. It's a tough journey but it is so worth it at the end of the day.
  10. Hmm, NSV's -- I can do my own pedicure without straining and grunting. I no longer lay on the couch I sit up. My body feels great! My underwear are too big. I ran up the stairs last night instead of huffing my way up. My feet have stopped hurting. Dizziness, tingling in hands and feet have stopped. My blood pressure is regulating without meds. I can look in a mirror without total disgust and self loathing. I wear a seatbelt now and I don't feel like I'm tied up, constricted and strangling. I can walk into the grocery store where the fresh bread is baking and I no longer drool! That permanent line in my belly from wearing constricting tracks, jeans and underwear is FINALLY gone! I can wear shorts for the first time in years. I no longer go out in baggy clothes, a sweater over them and a jacket over that. I went out with just a loose fitting tank on and didn't cringe. I smile more!
  11. We are here for ya! =D> :lb18:
  12. Timely advice. I just said to hubby yesterday that I don't think I'll book a fill yet. My restriction level at this point is excellent and I wanted to ride it out. I guess I better book in that I have no idea what the lead time is here to get the appointment. Thanks for that.
  13. YAY for YOU!!!!! Nice start on your first day. 22 pounds is AWESOME! :lb13: :cheerleader:
  14. I took USD's. If you go to a bank machine it will give you pesos.
  15. Everything I've read says any processed food will cheat the band. I'm not sure why that's just what it says and warns against it. I think again it's the density difference between pure protein foods and processed. Also as the fat reduces around the stoma you will be able to eat more and more like you used to. That's a sure sign it's time for a first fill as I understand it. Anyone else?
  16. Dr. Miranda also told me to eat veggies FIRST followed by proteins. I even questioned her when she said but she confirmed I heard her correctly. That flies directly in the face of Dr. O's book and every other book I read on the subject. I would imagine repeating herself over and over to every new patient would be tiring and mistakes can be made. I bought a case load of G2 Gatoraid Lite, 30 cals, to jump my electrolytes. It's a staple in the house now.
  17. I thought Dr. O said to avoid the minimum timeframes and work with the maximums. The minimums as I understood it were only if you ABSOLUTELY had to? Granted I was pretty stoned when I saw him.
  18. Not that I'm the authority but the fudge pops, yogurts and anything dairy really gave my system hell and added to the bloating, discomfort and the diarreah. I personally would stick to the clears and popcicles and let your body adapt but you know your capability better than I.
  19. I think I was a purist, I went to the far end of everything on the paper. Denise had to remind me I could have a yogurt.
  20. Loved that, it really strikes the point home! Nice one!
  21. =D> :lb24: Nice NSV! YAY FOR YOU!!
  22. We learn as we go. I have that built in early warning system -- I get freaking hiccups and I know that I need to back away from the table. It's tough to gage how fast is too fast. I found myself stopping myself while I was eating because I don't have that down yet.
  23. Thanks Kim! You are an inspiration. Your before and now pictures blow me away!
  24. I just kept reminding myself "YOU CAN'T JEOPARDIZE YOUR BAND". I drank a lot of freaking mushroom soup too. At this point I just have no stomach (pardon the pun) for it. Order the smallest sushi, trust me! hehe -- Sushi is good choice but watch the rice they put in it.
  25. hehe -- hubby knew I wouldn't be able to eat much so he ordered a smaller (for him) dinner of steak and lobster. I just discretely pushed the rest of the lobster and the two racks of shrimp on his plate. He ate his steak and lobster, my lobster and shrimp, passed on the rice and potatoes and proudly told me he was only eating proteins! LOL! I sent back the potatoes, rice and the rest of it to the kitchen. It's worthy of note that normally we would have gone through three baskets of the salted garlic cheese buns. I didn't have any. He ate two buns and returned the rest for garbage. They are one of his fav things in the world so I was seriously impressed! Kudos to Hubby!
