  1. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my fills except the OCC! I think the price is great also. We stayed 2 nights at The Lucerna and for the fill, the total cost was $279. For a hotel room and a procedure I don't think you will find that cheap anywhere else. But I think I would pay no matter if it was higher. I just feel more comfortable going to the OCC since they are the ones who did the surgery.

  2. Dolittle :lb13:

This was a great all-inclusive post about the first fill. It really made me think. I am so glad I read this before thursday. I'm hydrating up as I type.

    Thanks again.

I just had my first fill 7/4/08. Had an early dinner on 7/3/08 before we got on the plane around 6:30pm, and nothing after that. Just drank lots of water. Rule is you cant eat 4 hours before. My appointment was @ 8:30am the next day, was less than 10 minutes to do, it was cool to watch on the X-ray machine, then went back to The Lucerna and my daughter swam the rest of the day. Just do another liquid diet for days. Mine is WONDERFUL I have great restriction. So good luck girls!

  3. I can only eat some bread, thin or really dry. It's easier when it's toasted. I tried a bite of a biscuit, and had to spit it right out. Way to thick and moist. I am trying to stay away from bread anyway. If you are craving a sandwich try it with a low carb tortilla and make a wrap. They are very good that way and less carbs. ;)

  4. Hi everyone, they are actually a good group of people, mainly customers, but somehow they think they can say anything they want.

I never take anything they say to seriously, I am dealing with people that are influenced by alcohol...

Just realized they actually paid for my surgery. (TIPS)

It's a good feeling knowing that this time I won't be gaining it back!!

Soccermom, no secret on the weight lose, other than no more than 1200 calories, and I cut way back on the drinking!!!

oh and I took up golfing... I go to the driving range everyday.... and go dancing every saturday.. love to dance. :)

That is awesome. I want to take up bike riding, but it's so fricking hot right now in Sac I haven't been doing much except staying in air condition rooms. I love to dance, but stop going out because I have been so busy with my daughter's soccer team. Well way to go, you are doing awesome! Have you had a fill yet?

  5. I just found out last night, that at the bar I work at, they started a board... every one puts in ten bucks and picks a date,

All to see who is the closest to me gaining back my weight!!!!!! If its over 6 months I get to keep the money myself...

They have all seen me lose and gain it back 3 times in the past 2 years..

    They don't know I know..

It's going to be like stealing candy from a bunch of babies :lol::lol: ><' ><':lol::lol:

No one knows I have been banded..

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Your surgery weight was 193 and you are already at 165???? You had your surgery the week after me, and I cant get below 180? What's your secret?

I think that is awful that they are betting on you to fail, but I cannot wait till you throw it in their face!! HAHAHA! The joke is on them! :lol2:

  6. When you are released from the OCC, and then the hotel, does the shuttle take you back to San Diego? Will they take you to a hotel near the airport in San Diego, or only the airport? And I think I read somewhere that they go at 8 am and 1 pm; is that right? Thanks,

Yes they take you back to San Diego Airport! I think the times are flexible just depends on the times other people have their flights.

  7. I'm in an 18 now but hopefully will be in a 16 soon. I'd be willing to take anything anyone has in a 14-16. I'm still in my 18's right now but I'll be sure to post when they get to big and I can't wear them anymore.

I should have 16's and 14's for you, I will let you know for sure on Monday. What state are you in?

  8. So I applied at one place and was denied. Seems my bankruptcy in 2002 is going to be an issue. So I applied somewhere else. They told me before I applied that it would not be a problem but now here we wait. I talked to Lori, they have an opening on the 22nd for both of us, but I can't committ with no money. This is horrible!! I found out at work that I get three days off in August for floating holiday that I can use. I found child care. I got hubby on board. I have a credit card I can use for airline tickets, if I can get seats, but no financing. They say I may know by tomorrow. I am going to pray. I can't see using my house as a resource to do this but geesh! Someone has got to give me some money. What is sad is three months ago I had $30,000 and remodeled the house. I should of thought of this then. What a mess. I am so afraid that I am going to be denied. We have a lot of debt but I have not missed a bill or been late since 2002. You would think they would consider that. Pray everyone that someone give me the money!!. I will let you know what I find out. I told Lori not to give up, I want that spot for hubby and I.

Oh my god, you would not believe the finance nightmare I went through and didn't have an answer of being financed or not until the day I was flying out. It was frickin ridiculous. Anyone who is considering having the surgery, I would NOT got through Citerra Financial. They are the worst. Some guy named, crap I lost the email, but anyway I applied the day I decided to do the surgery and scheduled my appointment. I made $97,000 last year, my credit isn't the greatest, the bad things are from like 5 years ago when I got in my car accident, and only have a couple of new accounts and they are in good standing. I had to email him 5 times to get a response whether I was approved or denied the week before the surgery, applied a month before. I think because finally my last email I was a little harsh, he decided to say oh your denied!! So then I reapplied with my mom as a co-signer who makes around the same as me and has excellent credit, and he said if she co-signed there would be NO problem. The day before I left I had to email him twice to get an answer, and he denied us again. What the H~LL! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever come acrossed. Ended up going through Mymedicalloan.com, still had to have my mom co-sign. I financed only $5000 and paid the other $3000 in cash.

Sorry for the long story, but I understand your frustration. I didn't know if I was able to leave for the surgery until the day of because Citerra screwed me over. Try MymedicalLoan.com

  9. BUMPING THIS UP... Now that we are all losing weight and dropping sizes maybe we need to revisit this idea!

I am cleaning out my closet this weekend, and will post on Monday exactly what sizes I have available. I know that I have from 16-10, but I am currently a size 12 so I need to keep those!!

Michelle thanks for re-posting this, great idea :D

  10. It's been a while since I have been on here. Need to know if anyone else feels different. I was banded on March 24 of this year, met Mona while there we were banded on the same day. I have thus far lost 50 pounds, but to me I don't see it. I do feel better my clothes are fitting really funny now. Really loose, went from a 32 down to a 24 still have way more to go, but like I said I can't tell. I look in the mirror and still see me, fat face and all. My mom came to visit over the month of June and couldn't believe the weight loss, a lot of people have commented, but still it's just me. Don't want anyone to get down because of this, just want to know if anyone else feels the same way. Loose the weight, but still see the same old person in the mirror.

Bobbi & KittyCat ~ you both need to post your updated pictures, and yes it will be very noticeable to everyone except for you. You look at yourself everyday. 50 pounds is a huge difference. Keep up the great work! Can wait to see the progress pics! :cheerleader:

  11. Hey Lisa I posted about a clothing exchange as well and didn't get much response, I would love anything you have in a size 10!! My 12s jeans are starting to get a little baggy so I imagine by Aug I will be into a 10! I will PM you for your address to pay you for the shipping... and to give you my address

I have so many clothes that are in different sizes that have tags still on them. Name brand clothes that are really nice. Michelle I think it would be a good idea to repost the clothing exchange topic.

PS - I have tons of size 10

  12. Hey, I am in Stockton! I have a stomach bug now but haven't been outside for like 3 days because of the heat and smoke. I can only imagine how bad the smoke is up in the Sac area. Stinks!!!! I want to move to San Diego and get out of this valley!

Karenlynn ~ I wish I knew that, I was just in Stockton 2 weeks ago for my daughters soccer tournament. We stayed at the Residence Inn on W. March. What a small world!

  13. Thanks!!! I am very proud to be a part of that organization. They truly have saved countless animals. There are a lot of other organizations out there that fake it. Like Animal Planet. They have a rescue truck they simply 'park' at a disaster to garner attention but don't really do any rescue work. It is all for advertising. Same as with the National SPCA's and Humane Society's. Then there is PETA who does do some rescue but then kills 95% of the animals they rescue. Yes, PETA! Most people are not aware that PETA believes in killing cats and dogs simply because there are not enough homes for them. THey are soo hypocritical.

Sorry for blabbering, just can't help myself sometimes!!

Mona-Camille ~ I just went to the website (also sent you a message), and I emailed them to see if they needed any help. Their training session has already passed, but I know with the fires right now they may need extra people.

  14. Alana you are too cute! I am so tan right now from my daughter's soccer game. As far as the swimming goes, that sounds wonderful, but then we go into the I would never be caught dead in a bathing suit in front of people. The pool is a mad house right now and front of all those people, no thank you! Although I may scare them all away!! :D

Chad ~ My daughter is the goalie so she doesn't have to do that much running around. She use to do the softball thing, she has one heck of an arm, but quit to focus on soccer only!!

  15. Uhg, the smoke is horrible. And my daughter had to play 3 softball games last Sunday in this weather. I was surprised they didn't actually cancel the tournament because of the air quality.

I worked for and ISP in El Dorado Hills many years ago :)

Ok we have too much in common. My daughter plays comp soccer and we had 6 games last Sunday in a tournament. It was ridiculous!

  16. It's 115* here in Vegas so even going to the gym is a hot process!! Do you like workout DVDs?? I like being able to work out at home and get the variety of many classes without high gym fees!

I have bought some really fun ones for about $5 at Ross, they are mixed in with all the regular DVDs but you can find yoga, salsa, hip hop, walking, jazzercise etc.

If you have a netflix membership you can also rent workout DVD's from there, keep them a week or so and then send for another one!

OH my god how are you surviving in Las Vegas?? I hate Las Vegas for that very reason! I love the cold, maybe because I have been overweight all my life and like to cover up as much as possible!!
