I don't know if he takes requests but if you phrase the question to him as your wrote it, giving deference to his professional opinion, I'm sure he'd be open to chatting about it.

Sabrina,
You're not thinking your band is failing are you???

Disaster- does the band type make any kind of difference?

I'm so glad you took the time to post what a positive experience it was! I'm on the pre-op diet now; surgery 9/25. Keep on posting!

Growing up in San Diego makes Mexican food my "comfort food". When things are stressy I always get a bean burrito with extra hot salsa from the place down the hill. I always go where Mexicans eat.

Cool. I will look for Eddie.
I am NOT enjoying the pre-op diet. I feel deprived. What a whiner!

RevyD,
My surgery is on September 25. Today is day #2 of the pre-op diet and, once again, I cheated. I was between "lunch" and dinner and I was helping my mom do some packing. I was sooooo hungry. I ate about a dozen almonds.
It's nice to hear from others that it gets easier. I'm already surprised at how yummy I think Lean Cuisine is (in comparison with protein drinks!).
I can do this.... Right?

Revy D, how long have you been on the pre-op diet?
I am on Day #2 and I feel tired and hungry. Waah! What a baby.
Oh, and ice cream at work? Like Sabrina, I would have to quit!

I started the pre-op diet today!

I started my pre-op diet today during an 8 hour shift at work in the PACU. Kinda busy, mentally and physically. I was soooooooo hungry in the afternoon. I justified the doughnut I ate after that as a safety precaution for my patients. WTF? I am sick!
I just ate my Lean Cuisine spaghetti and it was pretty good, actually.
Hopefully the rest of the pre-op diet won't go as today did.

What do you mean by abdominal work? I too have wondered if there is such a thing as drinking too much. Obviously not with meals, but other than that?
I'm scheduled for 9/25.... starting to freak out!
-
Thanks, Angie. I never thought I would weigh 220 pounds and I've remained this size for years now.

I start the pre-op diet today for my September 25 surgery. I'M STARTING TO FREAK OUT! "IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO?" "I'M NOT THAT FAT, AM I?"
I'm 220 and guys still hit on me. But I'm not happy with it. (I'm writing out my thoughts here.) But it's scary to have surgery and have something IN ME forever. What if I fail????

Hi Donna,
Thanks for posting; as I near my surgery date 9/25 I am starting to freak out a bit and it's nice to hear that you still love your band three years out. And did I read that you do your own fills???? Explain!

I know this subject is not about me, but is anyone else who is scheduled to have the surgery freaking out a little over this? Perhaps us "knowing" someone who has to lose their band means that, statistically, we won't know anyone else who this will happen to? (Did that make sense?)

Thank you, AngieB!

Still no one for September 25?
How does one get ahold of Rene to arrange border transport? I'm sure this is in one of the emails I've received from Carolyn...just can't recall? I'm pre-coffee right now, so not working with a full deck... Help...

I have loved ice cream since birth. My dad would take us out for ice cream even when we were bad. I won't give it up, but I'll eat is less frequently and in less quantity.
My name is Margaret and I'm an ice-cream-a-holic.

Lisa,
I always enjoy reading your posts.

Looking GREAT! Cool that your husband agrees to let you have boyfriends on the side. Mine does, too, but only gay ones.
I know what you mean about thin faces looking older. It's almost like the fat pushes the wrinkles out! LOL But I think one would have to get REALLY thin for the face to appear older.
Dunno for sure...

Babe,
Are you over your despair now?
Pammie, Sabrina - give us (Babe and me) some encouraging words.

Very inspiring! As I get closer and closer to my surgery date (September 25) I'm getting nervous and (once again) wondering if this is the right thing to do, so it's nice to hear that there are others who were hesitant. I've been pondering this for a year and a half!

Sabrina- you are truly one of my inspirations. Thanks for sharing. -Margaret

My guess is that she is referring to an IV. I have wondered, though, if a Foley is used intraoperatively. Anyone??
