  1. I have lost only 2 pounds since starting on solid foods again. I thought I would have lost more than that. I have had 1 fill of 1cc and have no restriction. I read of others who have lost 20-30 pounds within 3 months post op. Here I am almost 2 months post op and down 16pounds post op. Maybe I should go to Tijuana for flouro and get a good fill, not this cheesy 1cc. The local doctor told me the next time it would be .5cc, in a 10cc band. I think that is not going to be enough. I have NO restriction at the moment. As a matter of fact I haven't PBed at all since the fill and before that I did it all the time. I am eating the same stuff too. Sorry to vent my friends but I am so pissed at the moment. HELP!!!!!!!!! Trudy
  2. That is fantastic. Great work. The milestones are huge for us aren't they? :lb24: :lb21: Hugs Trudy
  3. OMG you guys are hilarious!!!!!! Sounds like this is a good time to get funky and try new things to accomodate the band....ya that's a good reason, to accomodate that band. :-? :good2: Have a great night. Trudy
  4. You look amazing! Gosh you are so pretty. Congrats on all the hard work you have done, it is really paying off. Hugs Trudy
  5. I am having my fill done here in calgary alberta. It costs too much to fly to San Diego for fills. Hugs Trudy
  6. I get my first fill on Wednesday. I am so excited as I haven't lost any weight since getting on solids. It's tough not seeing the scale move at all. I guess that is better than seeing it go up though. That I am grateful for. Hugs Trudy
  7. I also watched that show. It broke my heart to see them struggle so much to do anything. I am so glad I got the band before my weight skyrocketed to that. Hugs Trudy
  8. I wish I was going to OCC for my fill. I am having it done here in Calgary by a doctor that OCC recommended. Trudy
  9. Sasha my heart goes out to you. I would be so shocked too. Think of it this way.....a scare that will fade in time, or major helath problems due to your weight(possible early death). I would take the scare any day. Having said that, it does take time to deal with the feelings and emotions of it all and put it in a place of acceptance. Please update us regularily on your recovery. I will be thinking of you. Hugs Trudy
  10. Are we supposed to loose weight when we get on solids but have no had a fill yet? I am so frusterated! I eat less and better than I used to and nothing.....I am still at 186lbs. Even a half a lb would make me happy at this point. I was told that I could be down almost 30lbs by my first fill. Well if that is true for me I better start loosing FAST cause my first fill is Sept 3. I am down 16.5lbs now. I guess a lot of us go through these feelings during those 3 weeks on food and before our first fill. It is a time to learn new habits and how to eat with the band. I am a slow learner...LOL Slowly learning to eat and not get stuck or PB. Thanks for listening to my rant everyone. Hugs Trudy
  11. KD is a no no for me. Figured that one out yesterday. Not good!!!! Cathy I guess it is a learning curve for us and what our bodies will tolerate now. KD was one of my favorites too. Here is to a better day! :lb18: :lb4: :lb16:
  12. Today was my first day the I PBed. That is nasty!!!! I did it twice this am and vomitted 5 times after lunch. Can anyone say YUCK????? I can't do this in the am as I am driving a school bus. I can't pull over so I can spit it out. :bad: Hugs Trudy
  13. You can fly anytime after your surgery. You might have to walk the isle to work out the gas though. LOL I flew 2 days after my surgery and had no problems. Hugs Trudy
  14. Recovery is virtuallt no time at all. I felt great right after the surgery and went shopping the next day. Going back to work really depends on what you do. I am a school bus driver and I was ready to go back to work in 3 days. Dr. O says 5 days after surgery is typical. Hugs Trudy
  15. I am so happy you are staying. What would WE do without you? You are such a supportive person. Hugs Trudy
  16. I have 2 shiz tzus. One is black and white and the other is brown and white. I love these little guys. They never bark, have great temperment, and don't shed. Allergy allert!!!!! Hugs Trudy
  17. I totally agree. There is a lot of insults thrown around here and harsh undertones. We are here to support one another especially when we are having a melt down and not doing what we should be doing. We are only human and we do make mistakes. (Note: No one has offended me personally) I think some people need to make better choices in how they say things. They was in was intended is not always the way it is received, especially on the internet. There are so many wonderful people on this forum, and a few bad apples. I would rather block them than leave the wonderful support. In the end it is your decission, you will be missed by many dear. Hugs Trudy
  18. You look amazing!!!! Your face looks so different. Isn't it amazing how much we change in our looks when we loose weight? :lb24: :lb21: :lb10: :cheerleader: Hugs Trudy
  19. I am going to solids on Wednesday and I am scared. What was the first thing you ate after the liquids? I don't want to experience the "stuck" feeling again. That is aweful! Any suggestions on what I should eat Hugs Trudy
  20. It's funny you should ask this squestion. I just got off the phone with Dr. Descoteaux here in Calgary. The secretary told me she has lost 130lbs. She mentioned plateaus. This does happen, just stick to plan and you will see a loss soon. Make sure you are dringking 2 litres of water a day. This is vital in weight loss. If you are not getting the water in you probably will not see much if any loss. After loosing a bunch of weight the body needs time to play catch up and get used to the fast changes it has gone through. Be patient my dear it will happen. Also, you could call Dr. Miranda and talk to her, she may have something up her sleeve for you to try. Hugs Trudy
  21. I went to my chiropractor 7 days after surgery. I popped out a rib, hurt like hell!!! I had no problems, just let him know you have surgery. Hugs Trudy
  22. Recovery is virtually nothing. Well for me anyway. I was ready and able to go back to work within 3 days. The surgery is so non evasive that there is not really any pain. Hugs Trudy
  23. Welcome to the best group you will ever find. I was banded July 23rd. The scares are not that bad, and they do fade in time. COngrats on your decision, it will be the best thing you could do for yourself. I haven't regret it for a moment(even though it has only been 2 weeks). Any questions? Ask away. You will get plenty of help here. Hugs Trudy
  24. David I am so happy to hear you are feeling better. Be strong hun, only 6 days to go until we can have solids. You can do this!!!! > :lb18: :lb16: Hugs Trudy
  25. I too will need a fill in Calgary the first week of September. Thanks for the info. Hugs Trudy
