I just booked my flight to/from San Diego!!!!! I am very excited!!!!! I hemmed and hawed all day thinking of what if? I already had made my surgery deposit, lol...and made the decision...but oh the flight makes it seem like it's going to happen!!!!! My husband agreed to the idea today and looked at the center on-line. I think he is still skeptical and thinks me an impulsive nut (that part is true), so I am hoping for smooth sailing, lol. I don't want to get the "I told you so, lol".

Tonight I was talking with my husband about the surgery I am having on July 25th...the BANDING!!!! He asked me what about popcorn??? He said can you ever have popcorn again?? I realized I don't know...after surgery after how long...6 months? or when? or never? He keeps saying...this might work but what about long term...can you live with it? What do you all think about lifestyle after your banding...are you remorseful over things? It doesn't seem like anyone is?? Thanks all!!!! Oh My you guys...can I really be excited to talk about sizes....YES...when it means I might not be cutting the sizes out of my clothes anymore to "fool" myself...lol!!!!!! I was a 26/28 about a year and a half ago..and have gotten to a 20 today... I would love to shop in a normal size store...with "young" clothes...love to not look at everything in terms of hiding myself.... so...I think a 10 is my ultimate dream size...I am almost 5 10...but have pretty small bones..so hope i could reach that 223 today surgery day...july 25th!!!!!!!

Thank you to everyone for your kind replies!!!!! It really helps to have such encouragement!!! It really helps to hear others made it and some of you went alone as well! I am going to try to get a friend to join me. Surprisingly, some of my close friends are not being the biggest supporters. I am hoping we can meet as well, Hope! It will be wonderful to meet some other people having the surgery. I could have the surgery here in KC but to be honest the surgeons haven't done as many bands. So I don't think Mexico is so crazy when you consider the surgeon you are using is a critical factor. Everyone on the board seems to be so impressed with Dr. Ortiz!!! >

Hi all, I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself!! I am sceduled for surgery on July 25th!!! I am SUPER NERVOUS right now...my husband thinks I am CRAZY to do this and even Crazier to do it in Mexico. I have lost some weight on my own over the last year and a half but I have gotten stuck at my current weight of 223. It sounds nutty but my hunger is always driving me now and I am terrified of regaining my lost weight. I started at 289 and have gotten to 223 so I am not ungrateful but want more, lol. I have 3 children...all girls...a 7 year old, 5 year old and a 4 year old. I am thinking I may have to come alone for my surgery since my husband will have to stay with the kids. I don't have a friend who can take off to go with me. Has anyone else made the trip solo? I am feeling very scared right now...I hope I am doing the right thing!! Sylvia
