  1. I just have to give you all my heart felt thanks as well. I am in the final days of being banded on the 20th. Without all of your kindness, support and kick in the pants, I wouldn't be here!

I have made my goal of dropping 10 lbs plus. I've been emailing Dr Miranda practically daily to make sure I have everything.

    Again, THANK YOU ALL!!! ><'

  2. Anyway I absolutely love Fransisco he is a great man. talked with him the whole way there and back. I just would like to make a recommendation for all of us using his wonderful services. He does accept and appreciates tips. He works close to everyday at any time of day delivering us to our desired locations. It is so hard to think about tipping when such a major life experience is occuring but this is his everyday and he does have a family. Just a suggestion.

EXCELLENT T$P. ;) I will make sure to bring some extra $$ down with me just for that.

  3. Yeah, I am going to start this week drinking a Slim Fast for breakfast and lunch, an apple or other fruit for a snack, a healthy dinner, and maybe popcorn at night, and just drink 1 diet pepsi for the day. Then the following week, just drink 1 diet pepsi every other day. Then the following week cut it out completely. I won't start the lean cuisine meals until after Thanksgiving, I don't want to get sick of eating those, and plus they are expensive..lol

I've been on pre-op since the middle of August (long story) and I have really weaned myself off of Diet Coke and Beer. I am pre-op right now, surgery date is changed AGAIN to Nov 20th and I am doing protein shake for breakfast and Lean Cuisine for lunch and dinner. Personal opinion, easy on the protein shakes, we may be absolutely sick of them by the time you HAVE to rely on them.

  4. Hi Taz. I ordered the two books below with a little review. I am ALWAYS looking for easier recipes as well.

Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray, “Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery”

LOVE IT! I am cooking challenged and found all the recipes doable and you don’t have to go out and find out of the way ingredients that I had to while I was doing South Beach or Atkins. Each recipe is broken down by serving guidelines for Lap-Band AND Bypass AND what week you are at with your meals.

The recipes are also broken down by servings, calories, protein, fat, carbs, cholesterol, fiber and sodium.

Margaret M. Furtado, “Recipes for Life After Weight-Loss Surgery”

More of a “Spa” style recipes. Hard to find ingredients. The recipes are broken down as above with weeks you are at your meals and nutritional value

  5. Donna, I can't believe you only have a week to go!!! It's seems like yesterday we were trying to convince your husband it was the best thing to do.

It sounds like your very organized and will have no problems at all.

    Take care,

Thanks Linda! I am so excited!! I just bought my train ticket. I am 2 hours from the boarder and decided to take the train, it was only $18 one way and OCC is picking me up from the San Diego main station.

    I am planning on taking:

A couple of the protein bullets

The Special K protein single packs

    Boullion Cubes

    Bottled Water

    A long night shirt

Sports Bra that fastens in front

    2 T-shirts

    Sweat pants or Yoga Pants

Crocs (they slip on and off easy and I can walk in them pretty comfortably)

    Mini Toiletry Kit

    Gas X Strips

    Pepto Pills (for upset stomach)

Buckwheat pillow for my train ride home
