  1. Well, I had the surgery scheduled and was ready to go and my husband said no way! 2 months later and I will have my band with hubby's blessing ;) I wish I could find my post where I whined about my ups and downs and all the EXCELLENT and ENCOURAGING posts from everyone here! I'll try and link it.

Good luck. Keep coming here and talking about it. This is a fantastic support system.

  2. For some reason, I just like to hear/see guys talk about their success. And more importantly... how they battle challenges. Not sure why.

Me too! I thinks it's FANTASTIC that you "guys" are doing this journey for yourselves. I am so proud of all of your successes and am glad that you come here and share them. I wish you all would post more, you are all fantastic role models as are the ladies.

    CONGRATS on the loss!

  3. DH received a wedding invitation for a co-worker's daughter's wedding. We will be attending BUT what do we wear? It's Nov 29th @ 3:30 pm. Southern California. The invitation was black and white. Does this mean it's a black and white formal? HELP! I am so clueless to this stuff. The best thing, I am hoping to find a strappy black dress for this little shin dig!

  4. I too had to cancel and continued to follow the guidelines that are listed in Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery and I have been feeling great with a couple of pounds dropping here and there. I have also been seeing a psychologist to help with the "why's" of being over weight and to look for possible triggers that I may have and decide to binge. I am schedule for surgery on Nov 11th now but feel so ahead of the game.

Use this time to learn about yourself as if you were/are going to be banded someday, it will help tremendously!

Please stick around, I did ;)

  5. Hi Vix! Glad you popped in. Sorry to hear of your knee! I too am having knee problems and I know it's all due to the weight. I am trying to suck it up till I've been banded and at least get to the 150's to do something about it.

Can you exercise without doing the lower body? As in, get some 3-5lb weights, sit on a chair and lift them? Anything?

Anyways, good luck and keep in touch with us.

  6. Jude, glad I am not alone.

Heidi, Thanks so much! I think it's been a bit of a blessing that I wasn't banded in August and have really had a chance to research and become neurotic!

Evette, do you take the enzyme as you feel you are pbing or do you just take it daily as part of your supplements? I totally skimmed over the part you typed about eating around the band. I know you can do it, but I am trying to put mind over matter and hopefully not let that be an option.

Has anyone gone so overboard and bought the baby forks, spoon and knives? They have some smaller utensils like that at Cost Plus along with nice small plates.

    Told you all, NEUROTIC!!!!!! :D
