thank you for updating! but please take care of the gallstones and get more iron (for the anemia).
-
hi perez. it's a new day!

find some local support NOW. find a wls group in your area, and if there isnt one, create one. Or go to TOPS (taking off pounds sensibly) or OA (over-eaters anonymous) or AA. are you seeing someone about mental health? i know my problem is emotional eating. see a counselor, psychologist or therapist. have you considered a psychiatrist? prozac tames my hunger sooooo much. You can do this, but youve got to work on the mental. the physical will follow.

s'cool, julie, i was cringing at the same thing, actually! but im an esl teacher, so i notice everything: improper use of there, their, and they're especially, and i groan whenever i see "alot" b/c it should be "a lot." makes me crazy!

i loved reading your story. ups and downs aside, it looks like youre doing wonderful, i hope for half your success
-
so wonderful! reading stories like yours help me deal with this long looong wait i have until i get banded. thank you for sharing
-
and the band is for life. maybe you've gained a bit a few weeks out, but 3 month, 6months, a year out: everyone loses BIG and for good.
-
stormy, you can do this. dont be mad at OSuzanna, i truly believe she wrote that out of concern for your health. let your stomach heal. read the success stories. focus on the future.stay positive. im sorry youre going through this, but YOU WILL GET THROUGH!

i had this done in south korea where i live and work, paid out of pocket myself (7 million South Korean won = 6314 U.S. dollars) and there was no pre-op diet/testing. I made the appointment, they told me to not eat anything starting midnight the night before, and that was it. i know the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver, but i suspect it's a test of your will as well. Here since you are paying for it, choosing to eat high calorie slider foods is your money thats being wasted. a friend of mine met a woman in the office who had after 6 months only lost 15 lbs. she was older (50's) but the dr said the woman was just not wanting to actually lose weight. whereas my two friends who had this done 6 months ago as well are both down 50 lbs.
i didnt have to go through the process of waiting for an insurance company, pre op diet, etc, but i went through a different process. i'd been researching doing this for 2 years, reading everything i could and learning as much as i can. i am not flawless in what i eat now, but omg i eat so much less than i ever did and am much more conscience of if i am really hungry or not. wish i had it done sooner.
