  1. i think the loose skin is a combination result of how big you are, how long youve been overweight, and genetics. i saw this clip on youtube of this guy who lost 375 on his own (and good for him!!! <3) but he's got a lot of loose skin. so, not just wls patients suffer this. i dont think everyone can just excersise loose skin off.

  2. HopefulFuture, i konw that i dont want to tell people b/c unless they are overweight too, they wont understand, and their negativity makes me mad/brings me down. no need to tell anybody if you dont want to, it's your business. i plan on doing as most others do: im not telling anyone, but if they ask after i have the band, i'll be an open book.

thanks for the encouragement on my savings, everyone! i live in south korea, we dont have lean cuisines here, but i'll work something out. well, maybe they have something at costco, i'll check it out.

  3. I don't think your thoughts on the band being too big are stupid at all. This seems like the only reasonable explanation to me. I feel bad about your situation because all of us chose the band for a reason. Doing it alone wasn't working. Yeah, positive thinking can help, but if that were the answer than we could all lose weight without going through this surgery. And I understand that we cannot rely on the band to do all the work, but if it's not doing ANY work, than what is it's purpose. I would talk to the OCC about this and see what more they can suggest. I don't have a clue how to deal with this, but I am truly sorry for your struggle. I really hope that you are able to find a solution and get the weight loss you deserve.

fudge yeah, spot on post. go see the doctor, and if it's not helping, find another doctor. someone needs to listen to and adrs your concerns.

  4. ive also decided to not tell anyone until after. when i mentioned i was thinking about the lapband 6 months or so ago, i was met w/so much "easy way" "gimmick" "just exercise" talk, i abandoned the idea in all conversation and even in my own thoughts, thinking that they were right. Bump'em. im doing it. im saving money, i think i'll be able to do it in february instead of march at my rate. go me, i rock!

  5. this is really interesting. forgive, as i am new and learning still: but what happened? did the stomach stretch to the point where eating wasnt as restricted? can you give more details?

  6. i dont see an "introduce yourself" forum, so i guess i'll bump in here. ive decided to pinch pennies and get banded, im aiming for march 2009. i live in south korea, the band costs around $7,000 USD here. thank you to everyone who posts in this forum, it answers all my questions and addresses all concerns. and this forum is WAYYY better than lapbandtalk: too many advertisements on that board!
