  1. Ok, I know nothing about this Wii fit. Can someone fill me in? Does it come with all you need or do you have to go and buy more games and attachments after?
  2. I have bad reflux- and I have not even had surgery. My Dr. gives me Nexium. It is expensive so she gives me boxes of samples. It works wonders.
  3. I am in BC- But thank you for the offer! I am reading the papers and all it says is not more than 225 cal/serving. I don't find any info on carbs etc... I feel like I am not getting the proper info from the OCC!
  4. Ok, I am interested in buying the Optifast and benefiber stuff. On the OCC website it says click here for Canadians- I do and it says site not available. Any Canadians out there that know where to buy this stuff?
  5. Hi Stormy, I have not had surgery yet- But I can relate- I have days already where I kind of melt down. It is hard when you have a child to consider! However, that is one of the reasons you are doing this! What is important here? Clothing? NO!! So he has no socks- Buy some if you don't have enough clothing! She is right- Try to take a deep breath! Nothing ended because something was forgotten- You manage and everything will be OK! So many people on here have had the surgery and Not ONE person regrets anything! It is the first step in the rest of your life- The thin/healthy one! We are thinking and praying for you and all will be GREAT! Tracy
  6. Hi, I found this on the internet and thought it might be helpful, probably more info than you want but I will just copy and paste it all (Just ignore the part about illegal drugs etc... LOL . Good Luck! Crossing the Border Into the US From Mexico by Car At the Mexico-US border, you'll drive through one of several lanes (number of lanes depends on how much traffic the border crossing handles). A customs official will probably be standing at the side of the road and will motion for you to stop; he'll ask if you've anything to declare. Tell the truth and, as long as you are carrying nothing illegal like switchblades or illicit drugs, you'll be fine. You may be searched, as may be your car; if you've lied, you may go straight to jail and lose your car. All my border crossings into the U.S. from Mexico by car have been absolutely painless, but friends have told me tales of trouble at the border. It's said that U.S. customs officials are notoriously more difficult than their Mexican counterparts, probably because there is a good deal of smuggling traffic crossing into the U.S. from Mexico. Crossing Into the US From Mexico - US Customs Avoid any problems with US customs at the Mexico border by declaring exactly what you have brought back from Mexico with you and, obviously, don't bring back anything illegal, like drugs. What you can and can't bring back from Mexico and US tax info: There is a $400 exemption for gifts and personal articles you've purchased in Mexico; anything over that amount will be taxed One liter of alcoholic beverage per person over 21 is okay - more will be taxed; note that the state of Texas taxes all alcohol brought back from Mexico No steroids, period; make sure you have a prescription for any other medication No illegal drugs; if you have the slightest amount, you can be fined and sent to jail -- your car may even be confiscated No switchblade knives So many fruits from Mexico are prohibited in the US that you may as well not bring any back No guns of any kind; even ammo is a no-no - you can get documentation showing that you legally purchased a firearm you're carrying in the U.S., but why bother taking a gun to Mexico? Fish you caught in Mexico are okay While doing a little research, I also discovered a (probably) little known prohibition: no clothing, purses, wallets or shoes/boots made of endangered species, like sea turtles. I hadn't known there was a market for sea turtle boots! Don't Smuggle Drugs Across the US Border From Mexico At the risk of sounding redundant, I cannot stress strongly enough what a bad idea it is to bring illegal drugs back with you, even though the temptation may be strong because illegal drugs are plentiful and cheap for tourists in Mexico. It's also very smart not to be drugged or intoxicated while crossing the border. Returning to the US From Mexico The drive home is going to seem awfully tame after the casual craziness of the Mexican road! Now that you've seen how easy it is to safely tour Mexico by car, start making plans for your next trip as soon as get home. Hasta pronto! Go back to page one to read more about driving in Mexico. 7. Hi Everyone, Hoping to get some advice. Any and all opinions welcome! I have been reading posts on here and there seems to be real confusion when dealing with other Doctor's than the facility in Tijuana on fills. Some people getting to many fills, some getting too much at once, people feeling like they can still alot etc... Would you say it best to return to OCC for them? I have not had my surgery yet, but I am booked for Nov. I am excited but also worry everytime I read about someone having trouble. I think I am one of those people that if it is possible for something to go wrong it usually finds me. Since nobody knows me I will fill you in on my situation. I live in a remote part of BC, Canada. Not great medical help here. Also I have a 3 year old and 18 month old. About a year and a half ago my spouse had a stroke. Physically he is well, but problems in other areas where it leaves me as the main care provider for the children. Becuase of the stroke he is on long term diability, so the other thing is I am needing to return to work soon. So I need to make sure this surgery goes smoothly as my work will involve lifting- EMT- ambulance etc... OK- So the other question is my Doctor has me on anti-depressants because life as been alot overwhelming. I have been told by Dr. Miranda I do not need to come off of these for the surgery- which is good. But the question I have is will I be able to swallow them. They also cause heartburn- Bad Heartburn at times. Will this create more problems? I do not mean to sound negative as this means a new life and outlook for me- I can't wait! But I want to make sure I have all my bases covered as I can not handle another curve ball! Can't wait to hear from you!
  8. Hi, I am new here as well. I am scheduled for Nov 5th and I only called a week ago. It could have been in Oct, but that did not work for me. From what I understand they want you to lose 5% before the surgery. The sooner you start the better is my guess. I think they are wanting a commitment that you will do it. From my research, the band does not do it for you. It assists, you still have to do all the work. But it helps you keep it off. I lost all my weight before as well and put it and more back on too! I will never do that again!!!! It is amazing what weight does to you mentally as well as physically! Good Luck, I am sure you will make the choice that is best for you. Tracy
  9. Can you tell mw more about how you felt after surgery- The liquid diet, were you weak? I have two small children and need to be able to come home and back to my crazy busy life. Tracy
  10. Hi Alana, I am new here and having surgery Nov 5th. I am so cuious about so many things and wondering if you would mind answering a few things for me????? How fast did you recover from the surgery? I have two small children and no help when I return home. Where you weak from the liquid only diet post-surgery? Any info you can give me is greatly appreciated. Also I am getting tons of flack about going to Mexico. Soon as somone hears Mexico they have some horror story for me. Never mind the comments about just walk and eat less etc... Like I haven't tried everything! Do you live in Edm? I am in BC, but close to Calgary.
  11. Hi, I am also scheduled in Nov. I am new here and would love to hear everyones experiences advice etc... I am scheduled on Nov 5th- I am excited and a little scared. There is so much info and I have so many questions. I have two small children and I will be quite busy when I return home. How sore are you? I was also wondering if anyone else was having problems when telling family that you chose Mexico? I am confident with my decision, but I sure have to do alot of explaining- so I stopped telling ANYONE. Can anyone give me more info on the Pre-op diet? I am just in the process of getting all paperwork in and know very little about that part. Also the smoking!!! It says you have to stop two weeks prior....any helpful hints or advice
