  1. Shoot, I was 2nd... I got it done at a local hospital here in Fort Worth Texas.... I got there at 5am... and They started putting the sleepy medicine in at uh 7ish... Last thing I remember the anestisiologist (sp?) came in and said that they just finished the first patient and he needed to start me on the medicine that completly knocks you out... I remember him putting it into the IV and looking at my boyfriend at the time to tell him I loved him, lol I dont even think I got past the word "I" lol cause when i came out my boyfriend now Fiancee asked me what I was trying to say to him... But he beat me to it.

  2. It is very normal to be like that... I too am like that. Sat morning I stepped on the scale i was at 238 yesterday afternoon I was at 246... by this morning i was back down to 237

I've been told by alot of people to go back on the soup phase to trick your body back into losing weight... Most have told me it works

  3. Sometimes when you twist or bend the wrong way your port will move a second and go right back to the position it was in. I was banded oct 20, and still have some tenderness around my port area at times... It could just be that you are moving alot. If your worrid about it I would call your Dr. and talk to him/her about it...

  4. I was the same way!!! I felt that if I was mad, pissed off, or sad or just whatever... I could call any one of my friends and we would go "hang out" which usually consisted of going to a restaurant and eating lunch or dinner... Now I'm finding myself feeling voulnerable (SP?) I guess you could say. Easily attacked or takin advantage of. I can't hide behind food anymore, and food can not be a friend. You want a friend to ALWAYS be there for you. You cant talk to food, you cant tell them how you feel. It just makes you fill like you have a companion because its there, and you dont have to face your troubles, you take the easy way out. For heavy people, food is the easy way out, Their bored, they dont go walking, they grab a snack sit their butts on the couch and watch t.v. They got dumped by some loser, Grab Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and watch a romantic movie on the couch... Ben and Jerry will always be there for you. Their sad, Grab food, its always there and never leaving. You got that new job offer or have something to celebrate, what do you usually do, GO OUT to eat... Or thats how it was for me and my family. Yes, we have obsticales to face, but we can do it, We went as far as getting the surgery done, why waste the time and money if your not going to work for it. You cant let little things make you mad. But its also no big deal to let someone know how you feel,.

“Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.”

  5. I find myself at times getting on the scale at least 3 times a day. It just depends on you. Get on the scale whenever you want. If you find yourself becoming obsessed with the scale, lay off a couple of days. A very wise lady that used to be on this site always said she gets on the scale once a day. That way if she gains a pound, she knows what she did the day before, and will correct it next time. I used to get on the scale once a week. Now, its whenever i want. Some people wait til they go to their dr. some want to know. Like I said its up to you!!!

  6. That is true. Dawn, there WERE two wonderful ladies on this site, who helped out ANYONE & EVERYONE. No matter if it meant they had to do some research themselves. Not to get you mixed up in stuff, but there are a few on here who haven't lost weight in a while, and are telling people how to eat, what to eat, and when to eat. Hence, is the reason why their not losing any weight. If you ever need help, anyone on here is willing to help you. Me, Jazzy, shrty835, and Kensgirl, all have learned quite a few things from Cathy and Jann so feel free to ask us... or post a topic again, if you ever have another issue, cause some people will be willing to help.

  7. Patients!!! You HAVE to have patients not matter what!!! Some people see it come off fast, on the other hand some people see it come off slow. I'm one of the fast ones. Well from what I've seen I am. I havent hit the 2 month period yet and I've already lost 31 pds. It just depends on how your body takes to the band at first. I was very slow at first with losing the weight, and thought it was NEVER going to come off, I never sat there and had a pity party, cause it seems from what I've seen in other people, it makes matters worse!!! Eventually it will all come off. You just have to take your time. It's not a magic pill and its not going to happen over night, and anyone that tells you other wise is well all i gotta say is "DEE DE DEE"

  8. I did the same thing before PRE-OP. I went to EVERY one of my favorite Restaurants.... Chili's, Don Pable's, Sammies Bar B Q... Those of you in Fort Worth, know its a dang good restaurant!!! Every Beverage that I put in my mouth was SODA... Either Coke, Dr. Pepper, or Pepsi. Even at dinner and I NEVER did that before, I always had tea.... I was horrible. But now, I can no longer say I eat out every night. I usually go out once a week now, and even thats hard, cause i have to order the kids menu and go from there... But yes it will ALL be worth it in the end!!!

  9. Found this on a website for you

    PROS:

    1. These machines do provide a great cardio workout - we worked up a good sweat and our hearts were pumping.

    2. Tread climbers offer a low impact workout, especially good for people with knee or back problems.

    3. They are easy to use once you learn how, and offer good control and displays.

    CONS:

    1. The Nautilus Treadclimber and Bowflex Treadclimber are somewhat expensive. At $1,500 to $2,200 for the high end models, these machines are 10-20% more expensive than most treadmills, and 30-50% more expensive than most elliptical trainers and steppers.

    2. Maximum speed is only 4mph, so you can't really run or even jog...the tread climber also doesn't allow for long strides.

    3. The motion does take some getting used to..your feet can slip between the belts if you're not careful.

  10. I've tried to add aticker 853 times but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong. They are so motivating for me when I see everyone else's. I tried what was written on the technical support page but it didn't work for me only text came up. Maybe I need my teenagers to show me how. Any suggestions

  12. I just had my first fill done yesterday (Dec 4, 2008) I was VERY nervous all day. I didnt go in til 3 but thats ok. I got there, the nurse talked to me about what was going to happen, and made me laugh. There was nothing to worry about. I get in the room and see the big machine.. It was cool to see the stuff go down. LOL, I even saw my small intestines!!! LOL sorry I had to add that in... The nurse practitioner (I think I spelled that right) was the one that did it, and he talked to me throughout the whole thing. Told me he put 6cc's in a 10cc band!!! I have GREAT restriciton now. There is nothing to worry about!

  13. I've been to ALOT of places in Mexico and I have to say nothing is like it seems, I didnt go to TJ But I did go to a few other places around there, I would'nt just stay in the hotel, go out have fun, they will recommend some places to go to im sure...

Hi everyone. Well, I got home from wk last night and checked the news online. I was shocked w/ the story about the violence in TJ this weekend. They found 9 bodies beheaded in a vacant lot, and 23 deaths over the weekend. A man was throwing grenades into a crowd? A gunman killed a 4 year old in a grocery store???!!! I know there is violence everywhere, but I am flying out tomorrow morning since I get banded on Wed. I must say, I am a little freaked out! Can anybody tell me if TJ is truely that violent? Do I need to stay just in the hotel? I was looking forward to going shopping. I think that idea is out the door now. Please message back especially if you have been there recently. Thanks!
  14. Well, its been a month and 6 days and i went from weighing 276 to 245 at the moment... It feels great, I didnt think it would come off that fast... I used to be the girl who was always heavy. I would eat when I was happy, or if we were celebrating something we would go out to eat dinner. I would eat when I was sad, always thought grabbing a friend and going to eat lunch would make everything feel better. I would eat when I was depressed, but I was depressed cause I would eat and be heavy. (crazy how that goes) And, I think alot of people are guilty of this, I would eat because I was bored! That was my biggest problem. During the week at work I would have at least 3-4 dr. peppers or pepsi's, and maybe 1 bag of chips and a candy bar. On the weekends, sat was my, my mom's and my daughters day to have a ladies day out. we would walk the mall and "go shopping". We would always eat breakfast with the family, BUT when we were done with shopping, We would go eat lunch. I hated seeing my new family suffering. We went to Sea World in San Antonio this past summer, the experience was great but horrible, I would always have to sit and rest a minute, and it was holding us up. This next summer, We are planning on taking our daughter to Disney Land for the first time... And I hope I will be small enough to make it around and not have to worry about stopping and resting a minute. To all the ladies/ and gentlemen on this site you all are doing a wonderful job... I look to each and everyone for support and help. I used to live to eat. NOW I have to eat to live!!! Thank you all so much for your wonderful support

  15. I've only had one NSV so far since i've been banded on Oct 20

At work we have to wear Company Polo shirts, I had a guys XL ( our company doesnt believe in beigger lady sizes!!!)

Yesterday our head hancho over All the north Texas Autonation stores came up to me and said "miss, I think its time to get you a smaller size shirt!" I am now in a ladies L!!!

Now for the scale victory that im proud of... Before surgery I weighed 276..... NOW.... 245!!!

  16. I have to agree, ANYTHING can happen ANYWHERE we just have to deal with it. We can't let it affect the way we live. I live in Fort Worth Texas, We have some pretty bad neighborhoods over here, We dont let it effect the way we live. As a matter of fact, about a month ago, me and my fiance went to his cousins house to hang out, now remind you we're in northside, known for ALOT of gang Violence and Drug Dealers... As we walked in the house and sat down on the couch, we heard about 5 gun shots... We didnt know but the next day we would be visiting his cousin in the hospital... It was a drive by shooting, (at the wrong house) He got shot in the foot ( lost two toes) was hit in the shoulder and thigh... yes places around here are dangerous but it doesnt stop us....
