  1. You probably will already have had your surgery by the time I get there - my appt isn't until 1 pm. Who is coming with you? Maybe I will see you when you get released the next day. This is a piece of cake - so enjoy all the "pampering" they do for you. Judi
  2. I was going to get my 2nd fill in February, but I do have some restriction so rescheduled to March 16th. My sister and I will be flying in and spend the night at the hotel. Hope to meet some of you then. And right now, Southwest has some great deals on flights. Judi
  3. Hi Michelle, I was at the clinic when you were there with you mom. I was (and still am) impressed with you weigh loss, attitude - just everything. You are doing so good - you did great on the interview. Keep up the good work - you really inspire me and I am sure others too! Judi
  4. CONGRATS! I can hardly wait for my scale to hit less than 200. My hubby weighs 192 - I am SO looking forward to weighing less than him. Keep up the good work - it inspires us all! Judi
  5. I am so like that too (I HATE needles) - so when I went to get my first fill, I just didn't look at the needle and kept talking to the Dr. while he worked - never looked down. It hurt LESS than a flu shot - which means it is painless. I felt the pressure when he put the needle in but no pain, when he pulled the needle out, it kind of had a pop sound but it was painless and didn't even bleed. WHen he sat me up with the needle in, it felt liked it pinched (probably my fat) , but really didn't hurt - drinking the stuff was the worse part - yuk! I worried about it before hand, but now I am ready for my 2nd fill without any fears. Judi
  6. A couple of days on solid food, I stopped at Subway and bought a Tuna Sandwich. I only ate about 8 bites, but had no problem with it at all. Just chew the bread good. Judi
  7. I have not had anything get stuck until a couple of days ago. Up until that time, I could eat fresh bread, but not now. Oweee - it does hurt. So now if I eat bread, I toast it and take very small bites and chew good. Don't want that again. I am still on my 1st fill, so may not be able to even eat toast when I get my 2nd. Judi
  8. That is funny - Just today I made arrangements for the same day - I had forgot you already set your date. Almost made it for a day early so I wouldn't have to fly on Friday the 13th. I don't feel much restriction with my first fill, except tonight I think I age a little fast and boy, did I get some chest pain. Had to walk around to get it ease up. My incoming flight gets in at 11:25 - my outgoing flight leaves at noon. See you there. Judi
  9. I am in Arizona also, but we drove to the border instead of flying. We left the morning after the surgery and drove to Yuma for the night, then on to Phoenix the next day. It is kind of a blur to me - I think I enjoyed the pills too much LOL. Friday I drove to the airport (2 hr drive), flew to TJ and had my first fill, spent the night and flew back on Saturday. It was pretty easy flying - the time in the air is only 55 minutes so you should be ok - especially with the pills. Judi
  10. The fill is $100 and the transportation is $99. My first fill is next Friday - but have scheduled the $279 package. Judi
  11. Here is the link to Costco which gives specs for the bodybugg: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?...〈=en-US It says: No Battery to Replace - The long-life battery will last on average 640 hours of active time. This translates to 10-18 months of usage. Hope this helps, Judi
  12. I checked them out last night too and sounded great, until I got to the part that the battery is not replaceable. So once the battery runs out (about 12 months with moderate activity), you just have to throw it away and buy a new one. So after reading that, decided not to invest in it. Judi
  13. Thanks for the info - not sure where I got 1 hour before and 2 hours after - must have read it somewhere. But I just read my paper work from Dr. Miranda and it says to wait 1 hour after meals to take liquid - So much better than waiting 2 hours. Nothing is said about drinking before, but I will make it "neutral - not hot and not cold" - don't want to "bother" my band. Thanks again for clearing this up for me. Judi
  14. I can see why after a meal you don't want to drink - would wash your food right out of your "new" stomach. But before? I can't for the life of me come up with any reason not to since water will flow right thru and you won't feel full anyway. If I eat 3 meals a day, that is 3 hours for each meal, which is 9 hours total not drinking. How am I supposed to get the water in if I only sip it at other times - unless I don't sleep hahaha. I have dry mouth all the time, so now I am sucking on lemon drops to help until I am allowed water - but it is getting harder and harder. Hope some one has the answers for me. Judi
  15. The hotel takes credit cards and american money. Since it is so early in the morning, they probably will take you to the clinic since checkin time is later in the day. Also, if more are being banded that day, they will take them all back to the hotel. The hotel is so safe - don't have to go outside to eat. But others will have their companions too, so she can make friends with them and really feel safe. No refrigerators in our room. After surgery, they brought us popcicles - tasted really good. Can have as many as you want. Hope this helps some, Judi
  16. Thanks for all the input on calories. I think I will call Dr. Miranda tomorrow. I just want to get it all in and keep losing. Tonight for dinner I tried to eat 3 oz of chicken (dark meat) and 1/4 cup of green beans so I could have some potato, but just couldn't eat all that. Probably only got about 2 oz of chicken and the green beans - not many calories there. Thanks again, Judi
  17. No, but my husband is a 2nd cousin or so to the late Arizona Governor Mecham - but then I shouldn't tell people that since that governor got impeached hahahaha. I should be on the same shuttle as you on the 16th - are you planning on getting in some shopping after the fill? I want to, but don't want to go alone. Judi
  18. I started on solid food today and was wondering how to get the 1200 calories a day. Can we eat some snacks in between meals to get it in. Snacks like 100 calorie bars? I kept track of my calories and I am only sitting at about 700. Thanks for any help, Judi
  19. I just changed my fill from January 12th to the 16th. My flight arrives at 10:15 at the airport, so might be on a shuttle with some others. My fill is set for noon, so hope to get in some shopping in the afternoon. I fly out on Saturday about noon. Hope to meet others there getting fills too! Judi
  20. Guess I should have finished reading before answering LOL. If you tell them what time to pick you up, they will be there at the entrance. The van is marked OCC. We were a little early, but walked up to the entrance and he was already there waiting, but if the traffic is bad, he could be a touch late.
  21. It cost us 8 dollars a day - we were there on Dec 7th and left on Dec 9th so we paid 24 dollars. Judi
  22. I am just starting day 10 - YEAH I can have creamy soups. But what I remember Dr. Ortiz telling me is to follow the rules exactly otherwise you may have a problem and those may NOT show up for 6 months. YIKES - that scared me, so I am following the paperwork exactly. It doesn't have Jello on my list, so will not have any until after day 21. Judi
  23. I paid by pal for both my deposit and the balance. If you are paying the balance by paypal you have to have it done 2 weeks before the surgery. Guess it takes longer for the money to move between accts. Judi
  24. I am ready to start day 10 on Wednesday and noticed that milk is on the list. Does that mean any kind - like Chocolate or like Hot Chocolate? That sounds so yummy right now. Thanks, Judi
  25. I just scheduled my first fill for the 12th. Will fly in that day and fly back on the 13th. Maybe see some of you there then. Judi
