I'm not sure if I will ever fully understand it.

Kim, It does wonders to hear what others do in certain situations. I have little or no restriction at this time, and I have been eating too large of portions. Having egg salad or chicken salad handy sounds like a good way to help me get back to focusing on using this band. Thanks for the input.

Just like Kristi said "doesn't it feel good to not have to go to the plus sizes anymore"? I can't believe the boost it gave me when I no longer had to aim for those stores or those sections. The selections are so much better. The larger women stores are going to miss us, but we are not going to miss them!

Those must be size "12"s that you are wearing. Lookin good!!!!

With my computer down at home, I can only get on this site at work. I also am in a size 12. What I don't understand is how can I weigh this much and be in a size 12. I have 3 that I bought at Christopher Banks that have a little spandex in and they slide right down over the hips. Feels good, but I also know that they must not be a true 12. I have other size 12s that I have bought off of the rack at other stores and it feels so good.
I can't wait to wear a size 10, I cannot remember the last time that this body wore it.

Hi,
Several weeks ago I had to have an unfill of .2cc. I went for over a week with exactly that same kind of pain. I eventually started getting a dry cough that would then trigger vomiting. I went to my doctor, who prescribed a generic prilosec (insurance will cover the prescription). She also does not know anything to do with the lapband, other than that I have one. I ended up having to get an unfill because the pain in my throat was still there and needed to heal. I am now ready to get a fill, but I will continue with the prilosec until my doctor recommends that I go off of it. Good Luck, I think it probably is acid reflux by the sounds of it, but you may want to get it checked out.

Congratulations Kristi!
The size of the clothes that I wear really impacts me also. What a great idea to focus on the size and not the scales number. :lb23:

Welcome,
You have come to the right place to get your questions answered. It is amazing how much encouragement and/or confirmation you will receive from others.
This is an exciting time.

I can still take my BC pills to this day. They are small enough to go right down. I am however having problems with my multi vitamin. It hurts to go down and I spit up my water after. I did buy a pill crusher and added everything to Crystal Light. Yuck, gag me! I guess I am going to have to look into a liquid vitamin.
I just posted on another topic that I have found Centrum daily vitamin for adults that are chewable. They are orange flavored and small. They are also pleasant tasting.
I cannot stand the liquid Centrum for adults! I tried several times to take it but it gags me.
Good Luck! Anne

Centrum has a liquid vitamin - I cannot stomach it.
Centrum also has an adults orange chewable daily vitamin. They are not large and are pleasant tasting. I can't remember how many are in the bottle, but there are quite a few and the price was reasonable.

Snickers makes some really good protein bars that are located in the store where all of the diet drinks (slim fast, atkins) are. Some of them have really high protein and fiber in them. The calorie count is around 140 - 240 depending on the bar.

Welcome Magkei1,
I really enjoyed reading your experience was with your interview, tour, and thoughts. Please post this on the sight "General Lap Band Support & Discussions".
It is so reaffirming to hear from those who are in the medical field and are familiar with the practices.

Glad to hear that you found someone to help you. Another testament to Dr. Ortiz and how good he is. It must have felt good to hear it come from a doctors mouth in front of those other doctors, just to confirm what you had already felt in the beginning.

Shelby, What a great idea to post your daily intake. I have wanted someone to do this just so that I can get my head back in gear.
P.O. Please ignore the previous post from me. I was experimenting with the quote feature, and then I couln't figure out how to delete it.

He talked to me about nutrition, what not to eat, what vitamins to take, he gave me a goal of 8 lbs a month, and wants to see my monthly, even if I don't get a fill.
Like everyone previous to this, welcome back. How nice to find a doctor so close by that is really involved with what you are doing.
I do not happen to live anywhere close to a doctor that specializes in the lapband. Would you be willing to share what you have learned from him?
Or maybe pm me.

Congratulations!!!!
I enjoy reading and learning from your posts.
Like someone previously said, a lot of banders fade away from this site after awhile. Thank you for staying on.

Thank you for sharing. We all need to hear the flip side to what could happen if....... I am glad that you are back on track. I find it so easy to eat the food I shouldn't instead of the food I should.

Do not allow yourself to get discouraged. As you see by the other posts, this is how it works in the very beginning. It took me until my second fill to feel restriction. By my third fill I was actually too tight and had to have an unfill. I still rely a lot on those that are the long (not old) timers for their words of wisdom, advice, encouragement and so on.....................

By the way Shelby, I have been meaning to tell you how great you are looking.
You are looking great!

I have also experienced problems with eating anything after 8pm. I will wake in the middle of the night having a PB'ing episode. It was explained to me that the food has not had a chance to totally digest and that by laying down it wants to come back up.

Oh, I so empathise with you. I hope you feel better soon. It is just a little scary when that happens.

Thanks for the encouragement.
I need to have this posted at work and at home. It sure has been a struggle lately.
