I got banded by Dr Ortiz on April 10th. When I spoke to Dr. Martinez, he said their intention with the surgery is that you will never need a fill. I have been on liquid diet now for 20 days and I do feel full now so I am guessing I will not need a fill? However, I read everyone's blogs and see that everyone does follow up and get a fill. What are the thoughts around this?

Hello, I just got banded 9 days ago, April 10th. Considering that it was Good Friday and Easter weekend, I was suspecting that the staff was not going to be happy about me doing my surgery that day. But it went great and the travel was completely safe. They drive you straight to the hotel and straight to the hospital and we didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I think the news makes it sound worse than it really is, but I was extremely happy with the entire experience. I have lost 10 lbs in 9 days!! Enough said!

I am having very consistent diarhea for about 3 days. I got my band April 10th. It is associated with a 102 fever I am thinking because I cannot retain any fluids. I have followed the diet exactly, only drinking broth, Gatorade, water and Vitamin Water. Please advise as I may run to a clinic so I can get IV for liquids.
