  1. Hey Briangie,

Sabrina is right in my opinion, you are in bandster-hell. And it could take several fills before you get to your sweet spot, otherwise known as really good restriction. I found that after every fill I would have restriction for the first 1-2 weeks and than my band would open right up. After my 5th, I still feel a decent amount of restriction 2 months out. Although, some days are better than others, I think I finally am my sweet-spot.

    Good luck.

  2. GirlBarb,

Well, I am thrilled to hear that your band is A-OK, That is great news!

Next month is my one year bandaversary and my doctor has a list of things she says she is gonna check for the one year mark. Kinda made me nervous when she said that. LOL....

Anyways it gives me hope to hear that you are a couple years out and you are good. :)

I am glad you are home and your hubby is helping. This is the healing stage, so let your body heal.

    Happy Healing.

  3. It still amazes me that some can eat bread. I never attempted bread. I am still too afraid.

I did try whole wheat tortillas and the first time was OK, but the second I got stuck and in lots of pain and I waited a week and tried again to see if it was a fluke and it was a no go for me. Still too much pain and so I will never go there again. I think for me it is easier to avoid it all together.

I don't even attempt rice or pasta, too scary.

  4. WooHoo Amy,

This is a GREAT NSV. Non Scale Victories are the BEST!!!! :) I remember it quite vividly. I was at the movie theater with my kids and in the middle of the movie, I looked over at the kids and they were sitting indian style in their seats and so was I.

You are doing Marvelous and I am very excited for you and your achievement. Congrats.

    Hugs,

    Kristi

  5. Thank you Suzpars and Zoey,

I haven't had a TT, sometimes I think I want to have one, but surprisingly, my hubby thinks there is no need for one. Plus little by little it is getting smaller, it may never be flat, but it is ok. It is all the core workouts that are finally making it better.

However, I did have a breast reduction in 2004, well technically one in 1994 too, but the one in 2004 was both reduction and scar revision and the insurance paid for it both times, thank goodness. Another really good thing I am happy I did too. I still wear a 34DD with Victoria's Secret bras and a 34D in other brands. So, the girls are good.

    Hugs,

    Kristi

  6. Good Afternoon All,

Well, I got back from Hawaii on Wednesday night. I was able to spend 10 days with my family there. What a fun time. We saw so many beautiful sights while there on Oahu. We were able to go to Hanauma Bay and swim with the fishies, and attend a Luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center, climb up to Diamond Head and even whale watching on the Starlet. We also did the maze at the Dole Plantation and go to the Kualoa Ranch and take an Ocean Voyage & Jungle Expedition. Then there was a hike we did on Judd Trail to Jack-Ass Ginger Pools and then went to see the Waiamea Waterfall. We had a blast.

So I was brave enough to actually get a pic of me in my bikini top with boardshorts. Eekkk.... And surprisingly I am willing to post it and one of me on the beach. Also one learning how to Hula Dance at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

  7. Kat,

to answer you in my opinion, YES, working out is very very crucial. I don't think I would be where I am at without all the hard gym workouts I have done and am still doing. (In fact I am leaving for an appointment with my trainer right after I post.)

Shelby, I have read that before that the band will do about 40% of the work, but in all the times I have seen my doc, he said that the band might, and that is a big MIGHT, have done 25% of the work, but the rest was all me. From the moment I was given the OK to get back in the gym, well, I did.

Lindsay, LOL... you made me laugh too, especially when I so understand where you are coming from. You are really a wealth of information and I really hope one day I have great ripped arms like yours. :)

    I am striving for it.

    Hugs,

    Kristi

  8. Brian,

CONGRATS!!!! Making this decision to be banded, for me was very hard to do. However, it was the best thing I have done for myself. Through this process, I have gained a new and improved self confidence, I learned that I really like myself and more than ever, I am me again! I haven't felt like me in years. I love me now.

My advice, Keep a positive attitude.

    Definitely keep us posted. :)

  9. Good Morning Friday Peeps,

So, as I have been gone since the 14th, and not able to weigh-in till yesterday, I waited today to do it since you all are here. :)

Scale was surprisingly way better than as I expected after being on vacation. I ate lots of macadamia nuts and loved it. :D I even have a dreaded bikini (well, with boardshorts) pic I had my husband take in the condo in Hawaii, that I will post a bit later. EEKKKKK....... LOL

So here goes: Scale = 133

the same as before. I will take it. We did alot of hiking and walking, so I think it helped.

    Hugs,

    Kristi

  10. Suzpars,

That is GREAT! I love it.

It really is amazing when your kids see the hard work you have accomplished and you can stump them. ;)

My daughter is close in age as yours, she is 14, and she told me one day that I am no longer like the other mom's of her friends. She says I look more like her older sister than her mom. It felt wondrous to have her say that.

When did you have your surgery? Keep up the good work.

    Hugs,

    Kristi

  11. Hello All,

I just got on from being offline the last coupe of days. I have a 10cc band that I get at Balboa Naval Hospital San Diego and currently have lost 105 pounds in just over 10 months. My fills are to a max of 4.5cc's and for the first time the so called "sweet spot" is here.

I don't follow any diets, except that I stick to eating proteins, veggies and the occasional carb if it is at the table (rare).

I will allow myself treats now and then, but I am good about what I have and make sure it is not too bad.

I work-out 4-6 days a week and have a trainer twice a month. When I say I work-out 4-6 days a week, I am at the gym anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 hours each day and I am going hard the entire time.

BTW Carrie, I am jealous that you have found frozen yogurt with that nutritional value. I love frozen yogurt and that is one of the treats I will allow myself. I also allow myself a caramel frappaccino light from Starbucks and I eat with a spoon. :P

I truly believe that if you work with your band, your band will work.

    Have a great night all,

    Hugs,

    Kristi
