  1. Widdlee is right Krista, don't stop trying. You have to fight for this. Hang in there, try some other lenders.
  2. Me three. They're great and I learned about them on the forum!
  3. I haven't had any trouble with any size pills. I take Tylenol Sinus gelcaps and they go down just fine.
  4. Great idea, I have a bunch of flax seed. I never thought of putting them in my shake. Thanks!
  5. Remember...a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. You have finished your first step and you have much less than a thousand miles to go. Keep up the good work.
  6. Just remember to chew. I would take some liquids along just in case you get scared but as long as you chew you should be fine. I've never been stuck and not have it work itself out. It can hurt like the dickens but it goes down eventually. I have even resorted to jumping up and down to get it to move. Hey....whatever works.
  7. Just keep at it. I didn't lose everything I was supposed to but they took me. I'll bet if you lost 35-40 pounds they wouldn't be too concerned. Why don't you call or email them with your concerns. They'll be better able to tell you what they find acceptable. Until then you seem to be on the right track. Remember, you are a little heavier and those who are heavier tend to lose faster. You hang in there and be sure to contact the OCC with your questions.
  8. love your profile pic, you are so pretty

  9. I have just recently been a regular visitor to the forums. I think this is a wonderful support tool however we need to remember that we are all different. The main reason we are here is to support each other in our weight loss journeys. We are not all going to approach those journeys in the same way. Since I have been here I have noticed that sometimes people can give "snippy" answers to others. It almost comes across as "Well, this is what worked for me and if you don't do it this way there is something wrong with you!" I have been down this road before, the weight loss one that is. I once lost 65 pounds on Nutri System and the feeling was great. I guess I was a little cocky back then too. It is also possible that I could be misreading the answers and inserting attitude where none was intended. If that is what happened I apologize. I think our "job" here is to support each other, tell others what worked for us, and offer suggestions that may help. Everyone must make their own way through this and do what is right for them. So, the next time you want to shoot off a snippy comment, think of the person on the receiving end. What worked for you may not be right for them. Give the advice but lose the judgemental tone about it. We all have a big enough struggle going on without having to feel chastised by someone who may have gotten to the finish line before us.
  10. Great advice. We all need to remind ourselves that we did not get this way overnight. It will take time.
  11. It takes a while to get into the groove. I could have been further along in my weight loss than I am but I ate too much before my fills too. Once you have had a fill or two and feel the restriction, your eating will slow down, it will have to. I have learned that the hard way, many more times than should have been needed. You are responding to having denied yourself and now you are like a kid in a candy store. It is a rebound reaction. It took two fills for me to feel good restriction. I should have gotten them sooner than I did but finances and timing got in the way and, I insisted that I would go back to the OCC for my fills (I live in NJ so it's a big deal). Hang in there, I know it's tough but you can do it.

  13. I guess you must have really liked it and used it a lot. If you're looking to buy another, they're doing a buy one get one! For those of you who are using the "Bullet" be sure to clean up any spills that may get inside and, an occasional small spritz of WD40 should keep it turning nicely.
  14. Here's a website I found that looks really good with lots of Magic Bullet recipes. http://www.dietbites.com/Magic-Bullet-Recipes/magic-bullet-recipes-index.html
  15. I forgot about it until someone mentioned it in a post. I'm so glad I found it again. As I mentioned in my post, sometimes I just don't feel like eating solid food. And, it makes it so easy to completely blend the protein powder in. Good luck on your journey and share your recipes so we can all be "Eatin' good" !!!
  16. The thing is that you can never be sure. Once it took 4 hours to get across another time just a bit more than one hour. I say better safe than sorry, make your flight later. You don't want the hassle of missing you flight and having to rebook. We all know how accomodating airlines are these days. NOT!!!!
  17. Earlier I read a post that mentioned the Magic Bullet blender. I though Hey! I have one of those. So, today, I dusted off the Magic Bullet and started using it. Sometimes I don't like to eat solids for breakfast and prefer a smoothie. If I eat nothing I get too hungry before lunch so I'm going to put the bullet to work. I have also had a craving for soup lately and the bullet is great for that too. So today I took 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, a generous amount of frozen berries, a scoop of protein powder and a splash of milk, blended it and called it dinner! Then I took 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, a scoop of protein powder and a small can of diced peaches, blended it and it will be breakfast. Oh, life is good!
  18. I have told very few people about my band. Frankly it's no ones business. A lot of my friends and colleagues are what you would call picky eaters so, if we go out and I pick it goes relatively unnoticed. I think we , the bandsters, overthink our situation sometimes. If you're in a group no one is really paying that much attention to what you order. We are self conscious because we know and therefor we think others must know too. If anyone questions a quick "I'm trying to eat healthier" or "I'm trying to watch what I eat" will work. For the soup phase, you can just say that you've had such a craving for soup lately you don't know what's come over you. To tell you the truth I have had a craving for soup lately and I had my second fill in August so it's not like I have to eat it.We can also say "I'm just not that hungry" it sounds weird to hear myself say that but a lot of times it's true. Hey, that's why I got the band in the first place.
  19. Congrats, can't wait to join you there.

  20. I just bought Super Whey Protein Shots at Walmart. They only had the fruit punch flavor and it tastes like cough syrup but at 2.9 ounces I really can do it as a shot and it's not all that bad. Here are the nutritional facts: Calories 110 Trans fat 0 Sodium 65 mg Potassium 30 mg Total carbs 1g Sugars 0 Protein 26g They do contain milk ingredients so they might not be good for our friends who have trouble with dairy.
  21. My second fill was a lot better for me than my first one. Hope yours is too. Good luck!

  22. Just remember to chew, chew, chew and, when you're done....chew some more!

  23. You go girl...you are on your way!
