  1. Doing Great. Glad to hear everyone else is as well. Happy Easter everyone
  2. I am from Vancouver Island. I did not have the sleeve but had the gastric band. Was thrilled with the OCC . They are very professional and as nurse i can highly recommend them and their facility
  3. Thanks . I check in every day but I find so many of the posts now are about the sleeve so I have nothing to post re that . I remember when I first got banded and before this board was soooooooooooooo helpful to me. Now I miss all the old gang who like me probably read but don't post anymore because most of the postings are about the sleeve and not the band. I am still here though
  4. This is an interesting post. I also found that men hounded me about stop loosing Debbie you look good and we dont want you loosing too much. It did not help that I work with doctors everyday. Of course women understood wanting to lose just 10 more pounds. With mixed messages I had to be careful because I thought hell if doctors think I am doing well then and don't have to lose maybe it is okay to have that dessert etc etc etc. Before I knew it i had put on 10 pounds. Everyone things I look great but I feel like a looser because I gained. We have to be careful to have the right motives for loosing and not let anyone else influence us. If I had not listened to the doctors I probably would not have gained any weight back. But because they were doctors I felt it was okay to go a little crazy. Needless to say I am paying for it now as I have to lose that extra 10 pounds. Listen to yourself. Have a healthy goal set by your doctor and the stick with that. Don't listen to what someone else tells you should weight or look like . Learned the hard way
  5. Way to go Traci. You have done an amazing job and look fantastic
  6. Well done Lisa. Once again you are an inspiration on the board . Thanks for showing your pics and I pray a speedy recovery for you
  7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I would have loved to have met up with all of you. Unfortunately I have plans that weekend that cannot be changed. Have an awesome time all of you and pass on what you learn Deb
  8. I am thrilled with the band. It is the best thing that I ever did for myself. If I had the option between the band and plication I still would have chosen the band Deb
  9. Way to go girlfriend. Complete new lease on life. Debbie
  10. Thanks . Being banded was the best thing I ever did for myself. I had an extended tummy tuck and thigh tuck which was quite a big surgery. I was up walking that night and flew home in 4days. I took vacation from work so that I would not have to rush back as I am a nurse. Basically I took 6 weeks off all together and was 100% fine when i returned to work. I think if just have a regular tummy tuck you can be back to work in a few weeks.
  11. Drink your water, exercise, eat enough calories and protein and be patient it will drop.
  12. I agree with Lindsay. Exercise is the main force that helps you drop weight. It is a combination of eating healthy especially your protein and do some form of exercise every day and strength train at least 3 times a week.
  13. It's true. I still check in everyday and read but the majority of the posts are around the gastric plication now and I see very few people posting about their lap bands. When I do see someone posting about their band or thinking about getting one I will usually reply. Debbie
  14. Hi. Because I lost so much weight and had alot of excess skin I had to have the vertical incisions. They extend from your groin down your leg to about 5 inches abover you knee. Sometimes they are done with horizontal incisions at the top of your thigh but the healing is apparently much more difficult. Dr Nytes professional opinion was the vertical inicision with me. The scar is very visible but I assume it will fade some with time. You definetly can see it in short shorts. No one notices it with skirts which I wear to work all the time. Debbie
  15. I had the extended tummy tuck, lipo and the inner thigh tuck done all at the same time. Minimal pain with the tummy tuck , most discomort was the legs but when you think about it you are using them all the time to sit , stand, reposition yourself. It was nothing that was not bearable. I stopped the narcotics the morning of the second day and did fine with only taking tyelenol for pain. I do have a high pain tolerance though. I found the extra strenght tyelenol controlled the pain fine for me. Prices are listed on Dr Nytes web site. No hidden costs. I cannot say how pleased I was with the care and results. I am a Registered Nurse and did alot of research . I wanted pictures of the OR before I left and he was very compliant with all of my requests. His surgical suite was emaculate. All the latest OR equiptment. The Aneasthetist was amazing and the scrub nurse as well. I highly recommend Dr Nyte and his team and like I said I have referred many people from Vancouver Island to him. Dr Nyte is not just a plastic surgeon he is an artist and you will be thrilled with the results. Debbie
  16. You caught me Pammie LOL I love Dr Nyte though I sing his praise to everyone I meet. I have recommended him to several people from the Island who are having surgery with him. The Doc rocks what can I say !!!! Deb
  17. Dr Chistopher Nyte in Portland is amazing. Many of us have had surgery with him and are very pleased with results. I did have a thigh tuck and am happy with the results. I did find it very painful compared to the extended tummy tuck and the scars are very visible so if you would not be happy with visible scars you should think twice. Good luck and I strongly recommend Dr Chris Nyte. You can check out his web site just google him and you will find a link for his web page. Debbie
  18. Congratulations girl. You have done an amazing job and are a real inspiration to all of us. Keep up the good work !!!!! Deb
  19. Doing great. Still love my band and living life to the fullest
  20. No regrets from this girl. Best thing I ever did for myself.
  21. I get that sometimes as well. Get up walk around and usually a good belch settles it
  22. You need to have your doctor look at the incision. You may have a wound infection if there is pus and that will not get better without antibiotics. Don't delay and see someone soon. Debbie
