Hi Kathy, Cassie got the flu when she was banded. It was a horrible experience. You need to make sure that you can take fluids. She became hydrated and if you can't get anything in then I recommend you go in for an IV and get hydrated. Cassie had to have 2 of them. Then she had her band unfilled. She dropped weight like peeling skin off an orange. She could not keep anything down for a long time. So please watch your self and if you don't feel your getting enough fluids, just go and get the IV, the worse thing is you have to sit there for an 1 1/2 hrs. The best thing is your not hyrdated and your body is not working hard on that. Also I would recommend you letting the doctors know that you have the flu. They told Cassie to always call. The band can come dislodged. Jenn

Hi Everyone, What a fabulous trip, what fabulous people, what a fabulous time, did I get my point across? This was an experience of a life time, hey it beat Oprah!!! Cassie and Itook two of our family members down to get banded. Britt my niece and Debbie my sister in-law. They were troopers. The trip was topped off with meeting a huge group of Sexy Fill Ladies and Hot New Bandsters. Read Michelle's Blog and truly I think they could hear us all the way back into the states!!! Hello Bandsters, Debbie who just got her band put in a few days ago is experiencing swelling and bruising. Has anyone else had this happen and how long did it last. When did the swelling go down. HELLO....Everyone....I'm a member of the band. My friend Maryellen and I just finished and are now sucking on some ice pops. I have nothing negative to say about any of this. The driver was at the airport at the exact time 12:30. He just finished picking up Julie who flew in from Vancouver. We went to the hotel, ehecked in and hung out by the pool for a few hours. I got some sun on my face and arms. I needed it, I was so pale. Julie, MaryEllen and I went out to dinner at La Differencia, an authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was EXCELLENT, I even had a margarita. Everything wenst smoothly for the pre-op visits, very organized. I was #2 for surgery. While back in my room, they had me attached to a sleep apnea monitor and I snored and stopped breathing about 6 times setting the buzzer off. After the 6th tim, they disconnected me and made me get up to walk. Everyon of the staff is just lovely, so professional, very caring. If time and finances permit it, I woul so want to come back for one on my fills....maybe the first one. And ladies....I think Dr. Martinez is the cutest one of the bunch. I'm not hungry at the moment. But after having had a recent laparascopic hysterectomy, I know the discomfort is all from the gas pain, so ya gotta keep walking, walking, walking. The wait is finally over, I'm so glad I've had this done. My total weight loss pre-op was 19 lbs. Barb

Thank you for the great information. I agree. I just wish I could of got more out there that this has been approved in Europe for quite some time. I wish I could of got across that FDA is just slower in the states and the study needs to be done and this will be the wave of the future. Have A Great Day, Jenn

Jenn, you did an amazing job on the show ! I read the boards last night a little bit , And we ALL Need to go on there. There were about 2 pages of messages on there last night and they were NOT Being Kind !!!! Just an FYI you might want to look at them first before Cassie ! Im afraid they might hurt her feelings ! but she seems to have a thick skin ! She really held her own on the show ! But we all need to get on there and tell people how things really are. There were some very mean and very ignorant comments on the boards when i read them HTH Mindy
