Im so excited now hopefully i too can lose the 6 lbs i gained back plus some. Good luck all and Furellie, if i can get my computer to work right, i will finally be able to email you soon.Take care.
  2. Hi All, Could you give me some info on this Dr.? Like cost and contact info. I appreciate it. Thanks
  3. silver wasp, I too understand your missing the food, food is your friend, it comforts you when you are down and just makes you feel so much better. But unfortunately we dont stop to think that although it makes us feel good, it is really hurting us. I hope you get through this. Talk to your parents and your Doctor. They can help. You are on your way to a healthy life if you can get through this part. You will always miss the food, but that was the deal you had to make to make this change in your life. You will get through this, im not saying it will go away, but it will get better, give it some time. Good luck to you.
  4. Hi Karen, That sounds great. Im not bringing any luggage, just an over nite bag so it should not take me long to get there. Is Linda also flying back the same day? We'll see you there.
  5. Hi Karen, I too am flying in to SD on the 17th, my flight is scheduled to land at 10:45am. I would love to share a ride with you. When will you be leaving to go home after? I will be leaving on the 18th to go home. Let me know.
  6. Hey Robin, Glad to hear all went well with your fill in MO. I may go there after all. Thanks again.
  7. Be sure to bring a little extra incase there are more than three people traveling from the hotel to the clinic and the clinic back to the hotel. Mrs. ortiz drives you to and from and you may have to take a cab if there is no room in her car.
  8. Hi Robin, Im also from Il, west central area, and was looking into the fill center in farmington also. Please let me know how things go there and what you think. I have emailed the main fill center people twice and have not heard back from anyone. I emailed the farmington office but the addy is no good. Will wait to hear from you on your experience before i make the final decision. Could you, if you dont mind, let me know the prices and any info that may be helpful? Thanks so much.
  9. Hi NoWorry, Wow, your itinerary looks great. Be sure to have the address written down so you can give it to the driver, just in case. Wish I was going at that time would love to do it like you are. Thanks for posting it so I can copy you on my next trip.
  10. Hi Judy, usually if you are going to PB you probably would have within the 10 minutes and you would feel severe pain, at least thats how it happens for me. I hope you are ok, seeing how it is after 10pm now.
  11. Ok Ladies, Now Im not a Doctor but seeing how I do work in the ER and have access to many Doctors, I decided to ask this question. Now what I was told by a surgeon is this, The port, which is made of rubber, CAN eventually become damaged after MANY years of accessing it. But like with everything, everyone and every port is different but I was told the chances of the rubber port being damaged would take many years and many accesses. But, like I said, I am not a Doctor, so use this information as you wish. Hope this was of some help to you.
  12. Yep Bowman is still coach and principal. I am familiar with murrayville. Speed trap from woodson to Greenfield is bad and i think it gets worse every year. You remember well. lol
  13. Tom, totally off subject but just had to jump in, Im in the general area where you grew up. I didnt grow up in Greenfield but have been here for about 7years now, I know Jacksonville well. Just wanted to say Hi.
  14. BSN, You are such a strong and courageous woman and your outlook on every aspect of your journey has been a treat to read and share with you. Thank you so very much for letting us all take a little peek into a very personal situation that you didnt have to share but chose to.Keep up the great work and congrats on all of your success, I wish you nothing but the best. Thank you again.
  15. Hi Donna, I was banded on march 5th and had my first fill 6 weeks later and I feel no restriction at this time, and in fact the way my band is working is exactly like how you explained your situation.I wish I could give you some advise on personal experience, but unfortunately at this time I cant. Keep me posted on your fill , when you get it, and how it works for you.
  16. Hi Jen, I too have the same dilema. I have 1.8cc and I feel no different than before I got the fill. Although I have lost a few pounds since the fill, but I have had to work very hard at it because I can eat as much now as I could before the surgery, if I let myself, but I refuse to do that after all of this. Good luck to you in your weight loss, Im pullin for you.
  17. LMJ, I too am a lower BMI with No comorbidities. My insurance told me that I would have to have been treated by my primary doctor for the past 5 years with no results and some comorbidities would have to be documented. Well, needless to say, I just didnt want to wait for 5 years to get my battle with the bulge documented and hopefully have some terrible disease or illness within that time, so I opted for self pay in MX. I looked into having it done in the states and then I found out how much experience the surgeons had, practically none, especially when I compared them to Dr. Ortiz. And then the cost, WOW, they US surgeons wanted to charge twice the amount to do the same surgery that they had minimal experience doing, I was definately not doing that. You should call your insurance co and they will tell you the procedure to follow if you want them to pay for the surgery, and they will tell you what is and what is not covered and if you would even qualify. Just do your homework, you'll get there. Good luck on your journey.
  18. Hi, at this time, you are only required to have a DL and birthcertificate to come back into the states. Starting 2008 they are changing the rules and you will no longer be able to use those, you will have to have a passport.
  19. Some redness and warmth from the site is normal, its your body's healing process. If you notice it becomes more red in a larger area or any drainage noted, see your primary doctor, that could mean infection. Give it a few days or so and you will see a big difference.
  20. seems to me it was just a prison break going on. Unless Dr. Ortiz is operating on prisoners (which I highly doubt) then I dont think you have anything to worry about.
  21. Hi Judy, My flight was just like that coming in at 9:40am on Sunday, that is not a problem, just be sure Renee has all the travel info so he can set up your driver. Dont worry, they are really great at working around flights.
  22. Hi, I have to tell you honestly, I only told my children, husband and Mother, and the only reason I told my Mom is because I really needed her to take my 4 kids while my husband and I were in TJ. lol I work in the medical field so I knew I couldnt tell anyone at work,I did however tell them after. And as I expected, there was a lot of "are you crazy? MEXICO? thats like a third world country, bad news going there" Of course the Doctors were the worst ones, they just couldnt get their heads around the fact that someone from the states would go to Mexico for surgery. I just dont understand that way of thinking. Dr Ortiz was trained in the US and Trains in the US! I guess people think you dont do your homework and just wake up one day and say "Hey, I think I will open a Tijuana phone book, point my finger and whichever Doctor it lands on thats the one Im going to let cut my body open and stick a foreign object around my stomach all in the name of losing weight." That is just so crazy, I hope everyone does their homework, no matter who or where they decide to have this done. This is your choice and you only HAVE to answer to YOU!
  23. Hi Guys, I did find that crossing the border back into the US is a lot different when you are just in TJ for the fill. They dont make the surgery patients walk, but the fill patients have to walk through, no biggie though, just like an airport security gate, then you meet the driver on the other side by the Jack In The Box.
  24. According to Dr. R, You should feel NO restriction with fluids, the fluids should pass right through, its the food you should feel restriction with.
  25. Hi All, Just returned along with Furellie from TJ for my first fill of 1.8cc. If all goes well, will be going back for all of my fills.
