  1. My band had slipped, it was from vomiting. There was no get pain from it slipping but there was no longer the restriction that I had once had. The vomiting was from a hiatal hernia. I had that fixed then they replaced the band. If you have not been on solid food most likely your band has not slipped.
  2. Hang in there! I had to have a new band, because the other one slipped and the first one never had more than 2 cc in it and I had a lot of restriction. This band has 4 cc and just now feeling the restriction. I know it is discouraging but hang in there it will get better. Be sure to have you Dr. pull out each time to make sure you do not have a leak...I had to have a port replaced because it was leaking. Good luck!!!
  3. If you feel something stuck sometimes you might try mixing some meat tenderizer in water and drinking it. This will help get it down also.
  4. Carbonated beverages make the stomach expand. Which defeats the whole purpose of the surgery. Believe you will not regrete your decison. I have lost 91 lbs went from a size 24 to a size 8.....It's wonderful!
  5. It's a decision you will never regrete. Just follow what the doctors tell you. No carbonated beverages...ever! Watch the bread, you will learn what you can tolerate and what you can't. GOOD LUCK!!!
  6. Usually it is from calicum and oxalate (from decaf products). My husband has had numberous stones and after years of restricting calicum was told it was from a lack of calicum. Also he has had a pacemaker and since then the kidney stones has drastically declined. Most likely caused from him having such a slow heart rate before and not getting the blood flow to the kidneys that is required to filter.
  7. Julie, you should have your doctor pull out the saline that is in the band to see if the correct amount is still there. I have experienced the same thing and if was the port leaking. They had to go back in a replace the port. Good Luck!
