  1. You can take a Dramemine and see if it may straighten you out. I know when I flew down to be banded, I got SO airsick! I went to the OCC the next morning [which was after about 4 hours sleep] and I was still sick. They gave me Dramamine and it fixed me up pretty quick. I burp when I bend over, so if I feel bloaty I go around straightening my carpets and let 'em rip! Hope you feel better soon!
  2. Thank you!!!! =D> =D> =D> =D>
  3. Congrats and welcome! Are you being banded at the OCC? Best wishes on your surgery and let us know how you are, Darlene
  4. Wow!! They DID give you a good fill!! Dr. Romero gave me 1.8 for my first and I hardly have any restriction. Going back on the 29th and am hoping for a great fill. How do you feel? Let us know how it goes when you start solids! Good luck!! =D>
  5. About 2 weeks after my surgery I got a bad, "catching" pain in my port area. I mean, it grabbed and I about went to my knees! I know I hadn't done anything, I turned in the bathroom and it caught. It felt like a tugging from the inside. I emailed Dr. O and he emailed me back within an hour. Told me that that can happen during the healing process and ask me to watch the area for the next couple of days for swelling, redness or if it felt hot. [None of that happened] He said it should feel better in a couple days, and it did! I was sore, but it got better quickly. I haven't had any complications that made me go to a local hospital or anything. We have a local Doc that does lapbanding, but he won't deal with anyone banded by another Doc. If I had major problems, I'd go to the ER, but if possible, I'd go back to the OCC. I got my first fill there and am going back on the 29th for my second. =D> Love the OCC!!
  6. I had my fill done at the OCC under fluoro and didn't feel a thing... a little pressure, but no pain. He said "1,2,3 it's in!" That was it! I was amazed how quick and painless it was.
  7. Glad you had a nice 4th of July! Great pix, ooohhhh la la!!
  8. Great pix!! Soooo sweet, all of you! Lookin' good
  9. Great pix Michelle and you look awesome!! =D> I think I'm gonna photocopy your pix and tape them to my fridge!! That'll give me the kick in the butt I need to keep me in line!! > Keep the pix comming!!
  10. It's funny you mentioned depression.... I am going through that today. I have been on the verge of bawling all day. Over ate like crazy and felt like crap. It sounds like you need more calories! You should try for 1200 per day, I know it's hard. [At first anyways.] This is a HUGE change for us, we're bound to get grumpy and feel down at times. Take care and try to get more cals in. Darlene
  11. You probably feel this way due to swelling. As time goes on, your hunger will come back. It is cool how you can feel stuff going through the Band, huh?! When I eat something without chewing well enough, I can feel it going through too. It actually hurts a little.
  12. I had post op discomfort but not extreme pain. Are you having trouble breathing or does it just hurt when you take a breath? Do you have asthma? If you're having ANY difficulty breathing, please call your doc. The gas they use to blow up your stomach can cause discomfort, a tight, bloaty feeling. Did you bruise alot? I made sure I cupped my hand over my stomach when I walked and used a pillow to support my stomach when I coughed. Also, I kept to warm and hot drinks cause cold seemed to bother me. If you're feeling really bad, call your Doc, even for peace of mind. Take care and keep us updated, Darlene
  13. I understand what you mean lynzz, we're in the middle of changing the way we deal with food. I love food so much and always ate whatever I wanted and as much as I wanted. Now I'm limited to the kinds of foods I eat and the quantity. It's really hard to change our relationships with food, but we have to. I wish I could think of food as an enemy instead of a comfort. :lb20: I think, for awhile anyway, I'm gonna steer clear of family food functions. Just until I get a good grip on my limits. You did really good today and should be proud!! Isn't it odd how we mourn food?
  14. Oh Carrie,.... you're doing great!! I wish I had only ate what you did today! :lb12: Gotta look toward tomorrow..... we'll do better tomorrow! =D>
  15. I'm right there with you Kimmie!! I had my fill at the end of May, lost 5 lbs right away and have been at 188 since! It is discouraging, I know. Are you getting another fill soon? I go the the OCC on the 29th for fill #2... I'm eating WAY too much!! Today was a bad, bad day but I'm hoping for a better tomorrow. You're not alone >
  16. Well done Will!! =D>
  17. I had one fill and am going at the end of the month for my second. I lost 5 pounds right after my fill but I've been stuck at the same weight for a month now and am getting depressed. I know what you mean about being afraid of going back to your old ways.... I fear that DAILY! We had a family get together today [surrounded by food, of course] and I over ate. I have a stomach ache from it. My big problem is trying to keep myself busy and keep my mind occupied. If I relax and just sit and watch TV, my mind goes straight to food. You're not alone.... the addiction to food is a strong one, but we have to rise above it, we have to be stronger than it is. I wish I didn't love food like I do!! :lb12:
  18. You should be very proud of yourself! I know that a little confidence is lurking for me around the corner because I'm not shying away from doing things away from the house anymore. I can't wait to shop.... when I feel more comfortable. :lb24: And have fun!! >
  19. Awesome Kimmie!!!..... I've been stuck again..... eating too much! :lb12: I go for another fill at the end of this month, I hope it helps! Break out the belts, Kimmie's losing her pants!!
  20. I don't know yet,... but hope to find out soon!!
  21. SOOOO glad to hear from you!!! > That a girl, you go see the cardiologist and we'll be thinking about you. At least you haven't had anymore episodes! We were so worried about you! How's your son? He probably doesn't want to leave your side! You take it easy and make sure you give us updates..... best wishes!
  22. Thanks WillT and you have a wonderful 4th of July too!!! :english_en:  :sun_bespectacled: Gotta steer clear of all the BBQ today.... it's gonna be hard HAPPY [AND SAFE] 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!!
  23. Has anyone heard from her at all??? I didn't like the sounds of her post that she ate and collapsed. I sure hope all's well... the prayers are out there. (((((HUGS))))))
  24. Thanks Michelle, very informative!!!! :lb13:
  25. You may be not getting ENOUGH calories. Your body will go into defense-mode if it thinks you're starving. Try to get 1200 cals a day [i know it's hard on the liquid diet] You have to make sure you're drinking enough... and one last thing, are you pooing regularly? [i know, eeewwww!] That was one of my problems though. The weight loss will come, I promise! > You have done VERY WELL so far... you should be proud!!
