  1. God Bless America, and please watch over all our brave men and women in all branches of the military! Happy Memorial Day!
  2. Email Dr. O and they'll get right back to you.... or call if it's hurting REALLY bad. I got what I called a "catch" in my port area shortly after being banded [a certain way I moved or turned would make my port area feel like it was "pulling" from the inside] I emailed Dr. O and he wrote right back and said that it was normal during the healing process, but to watch for redness and swelling, [which I never got] signs of infection. Mine quit hurting after a few days. Best wishes, Darlene
  3. I personally take the 5000 Biotin, one cap once a day. I have'nt lost any hair. The only time I ever remember losing hair was after my girls were born. I've been on a million diets and my hair's never fallen out. I wasn't willing to find out though, so I started the Biotin ahead of time. I never heard of the shampoo....
  4. I really don't think you'll have a problem, especially since they said you didn't have to diet. They know that scales varey, the one they weighed me on was electric. My Doc here still uses the slide weight scales. His always has me a few pounds heavier. You'll do fine, I weighed 214 when I did my paper work and only lost 6lbs. [per Dr. M's scale] and she said I did good. I might get to see you in the waiting room! , that's my first fill date. Darlene
  5. Dr.O told me the same thing, caffine in moderation is fine. He said he wouldn't want his patients getting horrible headaches from lack of caffine.
  6. Good luck tomorrow girls, may the fill gods be smiling down on you both! I'll be there next week! Enjoy! Darlene
  7. :lb24: :lb21: :lb10: :lb9: So glad to hear everything went smoothly.... isn't Dr. O to-die-for!!??
  8. LOVELY!! Nothing beats family! > The dog is super cute too Thanks for sharing, Darlene
  9. Mine is slightly lower than my bra area, so mine doesn't rub. That's gotta hurt!! :lb12:
  10. Glad to hear you're feeling better!! <' /> It sounds like the receptionist didn't know that the Doc up there wanted to see you for a follow up, not long term. I'd be asking to speak to him personally!! The most important thing is that you're OK, take care, Darlene =D>
  11. I am doing much better with the "No drinking with food". I just keep reminding myself of it. Also, I noticed that I seem to be eating LESS!!?? Thanks again everyone! >
  12. Yes definetly, more details!!!!
  13. I was also told by my hairdresser to take Biotin [i got it from our local Walmart, not expensive.] It's a vitamin supplement and I started taking it a month before my surgery and I haven't lost any hair. This was a big concern of mine because I have fine hair to begin with. I'm still taking the Biotin, as a matter of fact, I picked up a new bottle yesterday. It also helps your nails and skin. I have crappy nails and it seems to have strenghened them also. I highly recommend taking it, just let them know at the OCC to add it to your "daily meds list" when you go to have your surgery. Best wishes, Darlene
  14. Don't down grade your progress, YOU DID AWESOME!!! =D>
  15. Thanks Mindy, that's good to know. Did the Doc say anything about your pouch being stretched or anything like that? That's one of my concerns, I worry that I may have already screwed this up! I'm doing much better, I think that it's just a bad habit that is going to take some work to break. [i'm weak! :lb12: ] I've always been a big drinker but I need to work on my timing.
  16. You look great Dolittle!! I hope I do as well! Darlene
  17. You ladies all look awesome! Looks like you all had a fun, fun time!!
  18. :lb10: :lb24: :lb21: :lb13: :lb9: :cheerleader: :good2: Keep up the GREAT work!! Awesome!!
  19. Thanks ladies, I'm working on my bad behavior. I ate meatloaf for supper and I waited exactly 1 hr. before I drank... I was so proud! I also wrote myself a note and left it on the island in the kitchen.. "DO NOT DRINK WHILE EATING OR UNTIL 1 hr. AFTERWARDS!" I also wrote a grocery list and added a kitchen timer to it, I think that'll really help. I just hope that I didn't stretch my pouch, if I did, hopefully it'll shrink back within a week... my first fill's on the 29th. Fingers crossed! Thanks again, I'm so greatful for everyone on this forum! >
  20. She said fudgesicles and popsiciles. They melt to liquid anyways, they're not thick like soup. I didn't bite chunks off of them, I just sucked on them till gone. Like I said though, I didn't eat many, cold didn't agree with me.
  21. Dr. M said I could have them after I got home. She also said not to worry about getting "diet" ones cause we're very limited anyways on the liquid diet.[i won't eat or drink anything with artificial sweetners in it.] I found that warm or hot stuff worked better post op though, I didn't eat too many fudgesicles. Good luck!! > Darlene
  22. I did the same thing with chicken.... I never did it again!! OMG did it hurt!! my mouth watered like crazy and my chest and collar bone area hurt so bad I thought I was having a heart attack or something. Took a few minutes [seemed like forever] to pass. It was totally my fault, I was eating too fast. Lesson learned... :lb12:
  23. Congrats and best wishes!! Keep walken' and sippen' Take care!! Darlene
  24. I haven't been down since March but am going next week. I haven't heard of any problem at the border... Going into Mexico is a breeze, comming back to the States takes a while. Long lines and you have to show your ID, passport and\or your birth certificate. As long as you have your ID's, you shouldn't have any problems. My Hubby and daughter are going this time and we have our papers ready! :good3:
  25. Thanks everyone, I do really appreciate your tips and advice!! Michelle, I WILL STEP AWAY FROM THE BEVERAGES! LOL The "funny" thing is, I answered that topic and tried to support Kimmie and kept on drinking anyways! :punish: I'm going to have to put my own foot down and start behaving. I've probably already stretched my pouch.... I hope not though. I pledge to my fellow bandsters that I WILL NOT drink with my meals or snacks from here on out! Also, I'm going to get one of those little timers to set for an hour after I eat. Thanks again! Much love, Darlene
