Pam7/18/07

I have basically felt great since my surgery last week but I am wondering about a couple of things. I seem to notice some "lumpiness" on my left abdominal area. The lumps are not right under the incisions and they are kind of tender. Anyone else notice that? The other issue is constipation. I left home a week ago to go to TJ and that was the last time I have been able to go to the bathroom, so over a week now. I am almost afraid to take a laxative because I am afraid it will "traumatize" my band or something. Anyone else with that problem and if so how did you handle it. Thanks, Pam

To Apple Blossom, Hi it's Pam, I did get banded on 7/18 and yes my experience was very good also. I don't know whatever happened to Mikey, he was not there and he quit posting on here as well. Hope he is OK. Pam

We ate a a restaurant a few blocks from the hotel, go right out the door of the hotel and then right again down the sidewalk along the side of the hotel. Keep walking, pass the Office Depot, down a few blocks on your right (it's on a corner) you'll see a very vivid yellow restaurant called something "Remedios" ( can't remember the first part). Anyway, it is a very lively place, good food, very busy, good margaritas, good service. I was just banded on the 18th, excellent experience all around. Good luck. Pam

I had thought "Mikeylikesit" was going on 7/18 but Carolyn w/Dr.Ortiz's office told me only women are scheduled for that day. So I'd love to hear from anyone else who is scheduled that day or even the day before or after so we can meet. Pam

Apple Blossom, congratulations on the successful surgery !!! Mine is scheduled for this Wednesday, July 18. I have a question about the trip for fills, isn't there a cheaper way to get from San Diego airport back down to the border? Does the trolley go down there? Pam

Mike, I am flying in to SD on Monday because the flight was about $250 less than on Tuesday. My daughter and her boyfriend are coming with me, they may take whatever transportation there is on down to Rosarito Beach and make it into a vacation. Anyway, I was only supposed to lose about 12 pounds before surgery. I may have lost 2 at this point. I hope this isn't any indication of how I will do with the band diet !!! Pam

Would it be too nosy to ask why you had to lose your band ? I am scheduled to be banded on 7/18 by Dr. Ortiz and of course am very interested in hearing all of the pros and cons right now. Thanks, Pam

Hi Mike, I am also having my surgery on July 18th. I have no idea what time. I haven't been doing very well with the pre-op diet, did fine for about 3 days last week, lost 6 pounds and then had some stressors that sent me back to the fridge !! So, are you going to be at the Lucerne hotel? I'll be there too, my name is Pam Casanova and I am from Kansas, probably see you there. Pam
