  1. Minnie, I've got two kids under two years old. It's been hard that way for me too. I'm sure you'll be fine going back to work Monday. They said you could go back the Monday after your surgery if you have a sedentary job. Anyway, keep up the good work.
  2. Hang in there, Dallas. I almost messed up and ate a goldfish cracker, same with a crouton. You don't realize sometimes the habits. I got the gogurt myself, cotton candy flavored and strawberry too. Carnation instant breakfast is great. Mental hunger though? My stomach has been growling. I actually had hunger pangs this morning, so I had a bowl of tortilla soup, no tortillas at Claim Jumper. I highly recommend it. It is totally pureed and tasted to me like a cheese enchilada, was a little spicy though. It's the first thing that actually gave me a full feeling. Also, Coco's cream of broccoli is a favorite even when not newly banded.
  3. I'm thinking about you all (Dallas, Anne, Sally, Mimi, Cherai)! Feeling great here, despite moving yesterday. It's gotten easier each day (Pain-wise). I'm so excited that I get to have protein drinks tomorrow. Are any of you hungry? I'm just starving. ~Christie
  4. Way to go! You are my hero! Such committment. I hope I have as much success after my procedure.
  5. Why couldn't you exercise? If you don't mind my asking.....
  6. I can relate to the baby thing. I was about 240 when I got pregnant with my first baby (20 mos. old) and 250 when I got pregnant with my second (10 mos. old). I don't want to see another New Year start without having made some progress. I sure will miss them when I come for surgery on the 17th.
  7. I'm coming down (CA) on the 16th, surgery on the 17th. See you there!
  8. I've heard that after the procedure there are foods that give you problems and get stuck no matter what you do. Could some of you post a few that are disagreeable with you. Also, what about "friendly" foods you've found? I've also read on this forum and it seems that six months post surgery is some sort of milestone for certain foods and drinks. Any thoughts about that?
  9. Does anyone have any suggestions on where/what to eat in TJ the night before surgery? I'm looking for some good suggestions.
  10. I am a pre-surgery patient. I do not yet have an appointment for surgery, but want to get a jump on things. Any tips on what to bring? How about what not to bring? A checklist? Any info you could provide would be appreciated. My friend and I are having back-to-back procedures, if possible. Also, any tips you think I will find helpful or interesting would be great. Thanks!
  11. Hi. I initially was considering having surgery in Texas. My insurance wouldn't cover the band. I ran into an old friend of mine who had Dr. Ortiz do hers. Anyway, I found a comparable doctor in Texas (over 3000 surgeries). So if you are determined to have the surgery done there, I have the info. Lap Band Solutions 1-866-342-band. Good luck!
