  1. Thanks Nicole. Outer thigh is fine inner thigh sucks. I will be talking with Dr Nyte this month and will ask him about it. I was just curious with the people that I had it done already if they noticed a difference.

So calling all extended tummy tuckers. What are your things like now :)

I THINK YOU'LL BE LOOKING AT A THIGH LIFT. THERES ALOT OF ROOM BETWEEN YOUR LOWER BACK AND INNER THIGH

    PS YOU'LL LOVE NYTE :)

  2. I'm getting my first fill Monday at the OCC. I scheduled this when we booked my daughter's surgery. At the time, I didn't think to ask any questions, and I never got any instructions about whether I should fast before my fill?

I don't know what time I'm getting it, but I'll be going to the occ with Janelle at 7am...guess I should probably fast like she will be doing?

  3. ok Miss Debbie! UPDATE!

I did get a unfill today, was very tight. I am going to go back on March 4th for a complete unfill for surgery on the 9th. My fill Doc wants me to talk to my Surgeon on the 2nd about moving my port. My port is trying to go under my ribs right now and it is getting really hard for him to find it, he kind has to push it down. I can feel it at time when I am laying down, it will pop in and out from under my ribs, WEIRD feeling! He is wanting him to move it a little left of the middle of my tummy. I was just wondering if any one who has had a Tummy Tuck, did you have to have your port moved?

    Carrie

MY PORTS BEEN DEEP ENOUGH SO THAT HASN'T BEEN A PROBLEM

I WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS CARRIE ON MAKING A DATE AND DOING ALL THIS. YOUR GOING TO BE SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS :) KEEP US POSTED

  4. PREGNANT :) I havent been on here much lately, but figured I would come share the news with those of you who care lol. I am almost 9 weeks. I actually had just booked a fill when I found out lol - so far so good :) I am having a bit of a hard time with not having enough restriction - but I have been so nausious that it is probably a good thing!

    :)

    WOO HOO!!! AWESOME NEWS!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  5. ..which is my hesitation for traveling so far. The thought of having to get back on a plane, for a day, makes me cringe ...

And all of those 'what-if's' - people need to keep in mind there are often complications (simple & not so simple) so access to your surgeon POST surgery is extremely important ... AND, IMHO, NOT for those who can't afford another trip to the original surgeon, in case of an emergency.

AI know a lot of people who have tt's, and have needed a lot of follow up care, for common drainage issues, and such.

Just keep this in mind before opting to go the distance to save a few $$.

THAT'S A GOOD POINT AND ONE REASON I STAYED LOCAL. A GAL I WORK WITH HAD A FEW ISSUES AFTER HER TT THAT TOOK SEVERAL MONTHS TO RESOLVE. THERE WAS NO WAY "SHE" WOULD'VE GONE OUT OF THE COUNTRY, HER EX IS A DR AND SHE'D NEVER TOUCH THAT ONE WITH A 10 FOOT POLE BUT JUST SAYIN THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID FOR STAYING CLOSE TO HOME

  6. A little over 2 1/2 years later I lost more than my goal weight of 150 lbs. I now weigh 135. I am in the normal weight range which I have never been my whole life. Although now I feel my band has changed maybe from the weightloss? Not able to get food down as easy. I will make a trip to OCC maybe in Feb. or March. Weight has been coming off quickly the last several of months. I have had some soda but not much. So hope band has'nt slipped. Also been craving sugar.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! and you look awesome there :)

IT DOESN'T SEEM UNCOMMON TO HAVE UNFILLS ONCE YOU HIT GOAL WEIGHT. DOLITTLE WAS CHECKING ON HOW THIS COMES ABOUT. I HAVE LESS IN THEN I DID ON MY FIRST FILL, GO FIGURE AND STILL HAVE RESTRICTION

  7. Pammie, how long between your fill and your unfill? Do they have you wait a few hours there to be sure it's the correct amount?

YEAH, AFTER A FEW HOURS I KNEW IT WASN'T GOING TO FLY

I'VE HAD FILLS HERE AND BACK AT THE OCC. TO ME PERSONALLY IT DOESN'T MUCH MATTER IF I GO BACK TO THE OCC OR LOCALLY, BOTH OFFER FLUOSOPY AND I TRUST BOTH. FLIGHTS ARE FREE FOR ME SO EITHER WAY.

  8. so it's been 29 days and i find myself being able to eat alot... is that normal? i mean, im not eating anything unhealthy... i've been doing a balanced diet and trying to do portion control and all but... on my first day of eating i ate a whole burrito in front of my work computer, i kinda zoned out and forgot all about the band since i was so focused on my work... then i snapped out of it!! but im just scared.. i just need a fill.. lol i don't even knnow if this makes sense.. :]

VERY NORMAL AND DOES MAKE SENSE. THAT FIRST FILL WILL BE COMING SOON :)

  9. I just got banded on 12/23/2009. I have the Realize Lapband and haven't had a fill yet. I go on Feb 2nd for my first fill. I have already lost 34 pounds with the BIG change in eating habits but the wieght loss is starting to taper down now. This past week I lost 3 pounds which is much more normal than the 10 or so I was loosing a week during the liquid and softs diet stage. I am very excited about the results so far and already am feeling alot better and have much more energy.

    HOWDY NEW GUY RICK :)

  10. From the results it definitely looks like the people who go to the OCC have fewer fill - but not that many people have voted!

I have a question for those of you who have used the OCC. Has anybody ever had to have an unfill? I guess what I'm thinking is, if I decide to go to the OCC for my fills, I'm wondering if they have a better/lower % of unfills than other places since I live across the country.

I DID GET OVER FILLED YES AT THE OCC AND HAD AN UNFILL WITH THEM. IT CAN HAPPEN WITH OR WITHOUT FLUOSCOPY NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO

  11. Hi all!! I'm new to this forum and although I'm not getting banded by Dr. Ortiz I find your group to be interesting and full of information. I'm getting banded on February 13th in Southern California, luckily my insurance is covering it! I'm 5'1" and 200 pounds and I can't wait to gain control of my weight. I have yo-yo dieted for the past 10 years and I'm excited about having this new tool. I'm 32 years old with 3 sons. I can't wait to get to know all of you.

I was wondering how many days off work I'm going to need. My doctor says I will need a few days but I want to hear from some first hand experiences. My plan is to have the surgery on Saturday and go back to work on Tuesday. Do you think it'll be enough time? I'm a first grade teacher.

HOWDY APRIL AND CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING A DATE

A FEW DAYS OFF WORK OR A LONG WEEKEND OFF AND YOU'LL BE GOOD TO GO BACK. JUST NO HEAVY LIFTING :)

  12. I'm frustrated and confused!! First, let me say that ALL of my experiences @ OCC have been A+!! I'm only writing here, because I know if I call them, they'll ask me to go there, which I know I need to, but finances are tight right now. So please let me ask a question:

After getting banded, had first fill, then second (not @ OCC), and after 2 days of sliming on my saliva and not being able to even drink water, had some taken out (again, not OCC). After a while, I wanted a fill again because everyone I knew who was banded kept getting fills (not that I needed it, but I was trying to "keep up" w other bandsters). Went to OCC, had the barium x-ray..... And apparently, my stoma is so large, that the dr felt it was best to unfill it and "wait and see". I'm 5' 10" large boned, idk if that makes a diff, but an "empty band" seems to stop binging and rice, pasta, bread, ground beef, and anything not thuroghly chewed!! Even just ONE bite can send me running to the bathroom to pb and slime!!

So, my question is, is this *normal*? Anyone ever heard of this? Do you think my band has *slipped*? I've gained most of my weightt back because I'm depressed and ice cream goes down easily and painfree... I'm also not exercising at all bcuz of the depression (which is worse due to current weight and other life issues).......

I was under the impression that the band can be emptied (not removed) for pregnancies or illnessess... So I'm sure my situation isn't *normal*!! Ok, sorry for the rambling!! It's really hard to put this into easy to understand wording...

Thanks in advance for your feedback!!

    Hugs

YOU COULD HAVE A POSSIBLE SLIP, GET IT CHECKED UNDER FLUOROSCOPY ASAP. SOUNDS JUST LIKE MY FRIENDS PROBLEM BEFORE SHE HAD TO HAVE HERS REMOVED AS AN EMERGENCY SURGERY LOCALLY. I JUST WISH SHE'D GONE IN EARLIER AS TO POSSIBLY SAVE HER BAND

HOW LONG AS IT BEEN SINCE YOU'VE HAD THAT UNFILL?
