So I think my fill has kicked in!!

Recommended Posts

Ok so 3 days after my fill (the first day I was able to eat real food) I had a steak dinner with salad and a dinner roll it wasn't near the amount I used to eat but I didn't really feel any restriction. I was bummed and I posted about it but I figured oh well I'll just go back for another fill in a few weeks!!

Fast forward to today (6 days since my fill) I had my shake for breakfast and then for lunch I was at my son's school for a field trip and they were serving chicken for lunch so I stuck around to eat with him. I ate about 4 bites and then started to feel sick so I said goodbye and spent the next 10 min sliming/spitting into a cup as I drove home... ick!

I ended up having a protein shake a few hours later and felt fine... Then for dinner I made myself a Lean Cuisine- the Fettuccine and Broccoli Alfredo kind and since there was no protein (I thought it had chicken when I bought it) I ate the broccoli first per Dr. M's orders and after 6-8 small pieces of broccoli (they were covered in Alfredo sauce but I never even got to the noodles) again I was super full and started to slime, this time for only 1-2 min.

How is it possible that I ate steak, salad and bread with no issues and then 3 days later I can hardly eat anything... I have heard of people's fills getting tighter over time and I guess it's a good thing but it's just soooo weird!!

Hey MM-

This happend to me as well. Mine was after my second fill (2.0cc's in my band) I came home and had a normal dinner just to be a rebel and "test" my new fill. Bad, bad banster... I know but I everything just fine! It took about 5 days for mine to "kick" in :)

When ppl ask me about my band... the best word for me to describe it is FICKLE!

Congrats on your restriction!!!

Hey Girls,

I had my fill on Monday (2.1 CCs) I was a little disappointed because I felt very little restriction. Ah but now, 4 days later...yikes! Happy to have it though.

Any March 10 bandsters still checking the forum?

Kate

I hate to put this here in your post, Michelle, but is anyone else having trouble posting new topics? I keep getting a Forbidden message each time I try. Adding replies doesn't seem to be affected..

HI MAMAMICHELLE- I HAVE NOT BEEN BANDED YET. SO I CAN NOT HELP YOU THERE. HOWEVER, I LOVE READING ALL YOUR POSTS. YOU JUST PUT EVERYTHING OUT THERE. I FEEL LIKE I LEARN MORE AND MORE EVERY DAY. I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!! I AM NOT A STALKER OR ANYTHING, BUT I DO THINK YOU ADD ALOT TO THE BOARD. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES. BY THE WAY... DO YOU HAVE SOME CONTROL OF THE SLIMING. IS IT LIKE A RUNNY NOSE THAT AT SOME POINT YOU HAVE TO BLOW IT BUT IF IN A CRUNCH YOU CAN JUST KEEP SNIFFING? THANKS MOMONAMISSION

Michelle!

You should call Zulma! You and her are having the same experience! She called me last night in a panic because she PB'd. I have read about this too, the delayed restriction. I had to remind her of all the things we are suppose to be doing. She'll be taking it very easy on food today, she had a pretty good scare. Her dsl service has been down and it's been hard for her to hop on the computer. Congrats on the restriction.... welcome to my world (and Linda's).. Have you heard from Lisa?

To Me slimming is like throwing up, but your not throwing up....if I eat to much I fill it when it starts coming back up, but instead of it rushing up, it slowly comes up(the food and the slime) and I spit it out...its really gross, but keeps me from overeating!!

Hey Mamamichelle,

Isn't it weird how this thing works?

I'm now 5 days past 2nd fill and have just had the same thing happen with lunch. I could eat noodles after my first fill no problem, but just PB'd after 2 bites of mac and cheese. However I have lost 4lbs this week which is fantastic after losing nothing the two weeks previously.

Well that is great. I was really discouraged by your previous post but this makes me feel better. So will you post-pone your next fill for a while now?

I had the same problem Alana, and it was that I was not signed in. May sure you are. You can read without signing it, but just can't post. Good Luck!

That's great Michelle!!!...and a little weird. At least now we will all know if it happens to us.

I finished surgery about 2 hours ago. They are going to release me to the hotel soon if all goes well. OK - back to my walking.

Love,

Wendy

Yep.. I hate to be gross, but it reminds me of a cat coughing up a hairball.

CAN ANYBODY ANSWER THIS? I HATE BEING NAUSEATED MORE THAT ANYTHING!!!( I AM SURE I SPELLED THAT WORD WRONG) WHEN YOU SLIME DO YOU FEEL SICK LIKE YOU JUST CAME OFF A ROLLER COASTER? I WOULD HATE LIVING THE REST OF MY LIFE FEELING LIKE I JUST CAME OFF A ROLLER COASTER. A LITTLE SLIME IS NO BIG DEAL FOR A SMALLER BUTT. HOWEVER, FEELING NAUSEATED ALL THE TIME WOULD STINK!!! THANKS. Its not really like throwing up, you don't have the stomach acid combined with the saliva. (Its not too bad - but not fun either - you learn really fast not to overeat and eat slowly) Its like something is stuck and your body wants it to come up since it can't go down so it produces the saliva.

Also one note, your band will tighten up at that time of the month for many. (It does for me - I've learned to plan my fills right after I'm finish with it) and if you are under stress.

Hi Michelle,

I had my first fill a week ago today. I have no restriction. Less than what I had before the fill. I have been calling and emailing Dr. Romero all week and finally spoke with him yesterday. He said that some people have gone as long as two weeks before feeling any restriction. Maybe that is what you experienced. I hope something starts soon. I am disatisfied at this point. He is suppose to call me back Monday. I will keep you posted.

Hi Michelle,

The first posting did not save or send for some reason. I had my fill last Saturday. Here I am a week later and I have less restriction than before my fill. I spoke with Dr. Romero yesterday. He is to call me back Monday. Hopefully, my fill will kick in soon.

Thanks lisal

i wondered why I PB'd more than usual last week, however the painters were in (time of month).

You look fantastic. How much have you lost over what time etc??

Sorry I'm just nosey.

Nicolek

Hello Nicole,

Thank you soo much!

Since my surgery 10/6/2006 I've lost 115, I've gone from a size 22 to a size 6 pants and 8/10 top. I've stopped counting my fills, since I was bigger I had the VG band it it takes a lot to keep up with filling it. I just have about 10 more pounds to loose - however right now since I'm smaller and working out more I haven't been loosing much weight - but toning, gaining muscle and loosing inches. I just had a neigbor tell me that I don't even look like the same person - which is interesting to me. I also am really into belly dancing - great for the stomach muscles and pretty darn sexy. Back in early 2007 I bought a belly dancing costume from Turkey and had it shipped internationally. It was sooo tiny and I couldn't even try to put it on without ripping the thing apart and had a hard time imagining I'd ever fit it. I just got in on last night and I'm going to take some pictures - it will be the first time my belly has seen daylight since the 70's..... I'll post them as soon as I get them taken (I just had a breast lift last week so it might be a couple of weeks). Just as an FYI I've had an extended tummy tuck and lippo on my sides as well to give me curves. I love my new body! (Aslo that picture was taken in January and since then I've lost another 20 pounds)

Take care, it takes time and you have ups and downs - but its the best thing I've ever done for myself - if I was at 275 over a year and a half ago, and if I didn't do this I figured out by my average rate of gain that I would be over 300 pounds by now.

(At your own risk... I just took a quick picture of myself today in my bathing suit - I know people wonder what you can look like with weight loss and perhaps after cosmetic surgery, - I did - its in my album, however it has to be approved first...)
