Jacqui1
I am going to Cosmed the day after surgery to get aquamid filler put in my nasal fold and lower lip. Did anybody out there have any dealings with Cosmed while they were in TJ?
scared
I have not been to Cosmed but previous to getting banded I was doing research on having Lipo in TJ.. and I have heard many good things about Cosmed. Also when I was at the hotel, there is an plastic surgery center across the street and I asked Dr. Ortiz mom about, she also recommended Cosmed which she stated was only a few blocks away... she actually wanted to take me there the same day for a consultation but I just wanted to get back to the hotel room and rest. She stated that Cosmed has always been highly recommended by other patients..and like I said I have read alot about them on other forums. When I'm ready I will also be going there. One more thing... I believe Carolyn the coordinater has also had some work done by them hope this helps...
nothereanymore
I know of three women that have gone to Cosmed and have had beautiful work done. (body lift, breast lift, but lift) Dr. Ortiz personally advised me to use them. I used a local plastic surgeon since his prices were the same when you added in airfare and hotel, plus I was close to home with my family. I would have used Cosmed in a second if I hadnt found my plastic surgeon whom I love and trust. Ive had this done, its very easy, put your mind to rest girl, youll look great! I love it! (Notice in my pictures that I don't have those big lines, and my lips look fuller, not too much - but boy was I draggen and looken old after loosing 100 pounds. Friends thought I had a face lift. (I did have botox in my forehead as well to get rid of those dog gone lines) Take care and no worries! Lisa

Did you have to have a tummy tuck and breast lift? I had a breast reduction 3 years ago and I am concerned they will deflate. If I have to have plastic surgery done, I will go back to the surgeon who did the reduction, he was amazing and right here in Kitchener, ON, Canada. I guess I should start saving my pennies now!! LOL!! Take care, Cathy

LOL!! Take care, Cathy Hey Cathy, I've had an extended tummy tuck, some call it a body lift but since my scar is not touching (2 inches apart from my back) my doctor does not consider it a body lift. You’ll find that some clinics call this a body lift, not my doctor – it has too touch and you have to have your butt lifted. (I had over 6 pounds of fat removed and 12 inches of skin from my front) This is important – I did my tummy tuck at 200 pounds, it really helped to loose more weight in other areas – as soon as I completed this, the weight lose really kicked in. I’ve had liposuction on my back and sides (at the same time as my tummy tuck and it still looks great) and just had a breast lift. (I’m now 150 pounds). On the light side, I’ve been very up to date on my face. I’ve had juvederm http://juvedermusa.com/what_is_juvederm/what_is.aspx in the creases around my mouth and in my lips. Botox http://www.botoxcosmetic.com/ in my forehead. I have had a series of Vitalize Peels, (I’m on my fifth peel, almost done). This gets rid of the light wrinkles. Lets be honest, if you are older an you loose a lot of weight you are most likely going to look older than your natural age. This is due to the fact that you are loosing fat, all over – when you loose it in your face – it’s a problem. (Love to loose it in my thighs – sucks in the face) I’ve been making sure to keep up with all areas as I loose the fat. For those youngsters in the 20’s and 30’s you should be fine. However us older girls there’s nothing worse than loosing the weight and looking worse than when you started. Based on my research I planned for this and knew I’d need a tummy tuck (didn’t plan for an extended with lippo, but love the look). Knew I’d need a breast lift, but I really need a lower face lift even with all of my other work and I’m saving for this now. You may need to add a lift to your breasts, I don't have anything added but if I continue to loose, I may need it as well. It’s something to think about and something I planned for. One thing I have to add that is very unfair. Skinny, better looking people make more money than obese people. As I’ve lost the weight, I’ve moved up faster and make a lot more $$. Its helped me to better afford the needed extras. Sad, but true. As an added FYI, Pammie and I use the same Doctor for our work, Dr. Nyte in Maple Valley WA. (thanks again Pammie)! Best, Lisa

Best, Lisa Thanks Lisa, that's the scarey part...looking older and more surgery...I can handle it, not sure if my husband can. I know for sure that I am going to need a tummy tuck or the procedure you had, because that is where I carry most of my weight around the middle. I can exercise my legs and arms (although I have wings and made them done too!!) AWWWW!!! I want so much to lose this 100 + lbs but the thought of having to endure my pain from surgery or the cost is not inviting at all! I won't dwell on it now, I will wait until I have lost the 100 lbs and then look into my options...thanks again! Cathy
Jacqui1
Thanks for all the info. The OCC recommended me to Cosmed. The reason I am doing it post-op is because aquamid is not FDA approved, but has been used for years in other countries. A girl in my dermatologist office went to Brazil and had it done and looks great. I am also doint a consult for a tummy tuck and breast lift while I am there. I will let you know the outcome. Two days until surgery!!!!
Dolittle
Just a quick note. Cosmed plastic surgery clinic is in the process of building a nice new plastic surgery center. Dr. Quiroz told me that they were shooting for a May/June opening date. I'll be in TJ on the 14th and will be talking to Dr. Quiroz about his new PS clinic and get a update on the grand opening.. Also,, a reminder,, I don't think this has changed,, All lapband patients of the OCC are supposed to get a free consultation at the Cosmed Clinic. Just tell Dr. Quiroz that Dave and Lori said so! LOL. When you have reach your goal or close to it and your going to TJ for a tweaking fill or whatever,, call the Cosmed at 1-877-426-7633 and set up an appointment for your free consultation. Remember,, tell them your a OCC patient.
