chinamom Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 I have read that the Pre op diet is different for people according to their BMI- Can someone elaborate on that. Mine is 33 I am 5'6, 210-215 lbs depending on the day! What kind of diet can I expect
GirlBarb Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 At 5' 6" too, and I was 205 pounds, I was not put on a diet from OCC in TJ. Dr Miranda will be the one to decide, she changes her way of doing things sometimes. Barb
Kim2BSlim Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 My BMI was 38 and she let me choose between the 3 diets they offer. If your BMI is over 40 you have to call her for a consult. If your BMI is 30 or under you usually have no pre-op diet at all.
chinamom Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 At what point do you speak with Dr. Miranda. I have been contacted by Carolyn and sent a few emails. What comes next
Kim2BSlim Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Have you received your pre-op information? Mine was sent through email. It will tell you what you need to know about your diet according to your weight.
Sandy Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 When I scheduled surgery my bmi was 32 and they told me I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. They did tell me I couldn't gain any wait so maybe somewhere around 33 you have to do it and under you don't.
