  9. Yah Karen I'm so excited for you. Let us know how it goes.
  10. Hi Try going on fluids for a few days after PBing to let the swelling go down. Do as Jazzzy said and start slow. If you still have trouble you may need an adjustment. Good luck.
  11. Hi Do not let yourself be too tight for more than a few days. Its not worth the risk. I had to be completely unfilled as I let it go on too long. Are you far away from the OCC?
  12. Hi all I can't believe its been a year today that I was banded at the OCC. Looking back its been a great journey. Scared of having surgery in TJ, traveling by myself and having a foreign object put around my stomach. I returned to OCC for my first fill and then found a Dr here in Calgary. Between February and May I lost 50lbs but needed to do some exercise so I joined Curves and go 3 times a week. By Christmas I was only 5lbs away from my goal. I had lost 90lbs. Unfortunately my band became too tight and I ended up having a complete unfill in January. I have gained 10lbs due to bad choices and knowing I could again eat bread easily. I am disappointed that I didn't achieve my ultimate goal of losing all my weight in the 1st year but I have a fill scheduled in March at the OCC and although I have to start again with fills its only 15lbs I have to lose NOT 95!!! I do feel I have to recommit to the band and bandster way of life, but I know I do not want to be the size I was and all that went with it. So I may return to the pre-op diet before my 1st fill and become a newbie again. Just wanted to share as I read this forum every day. Thanks
  13. Hey Chopper Great post! even us longer banded people. I have to get a first fill again after an emergency unfill and start from scratch.
  14. Hi I love your receipes. You have a great flare for bandster food. I tend to stick to the basics. Keep posting and I may even cook one of these days.LOL
  15. Hi Congrats and now it all begins. Take it easy.
  16. Hi Michelle great job with the interview. Its funny but you sounded different to your voice in my head.
  17. Oh Hon Hopefully you have alot of help with the children. Or have you hid out somewhere away from home? I'm sure you'll feel the pain was worth it in the end. Although not at the moment. Keep on the good drugs and get lots of rest.
  18. Hi If you are having your fill at the OCC you will go back to full liquids for 3 days. Encase there is any swelling. This is the only time though. Good Luck.
  19. Hi Taking capsules isn't a problem because of their shape. I now take Benefibre as I was having constipation problems with Metamucil. Drink Drink Drink !
  20. Hi i wanted my BMI to be 23 so that I would have some room to gain or lose. That gave me a weight of 150lbs at 5'8" I'm pretty close and a size 8.
  21. Hi Why don't you give Dr Ortiz's clinic a call and ask some questions. Put yourself at ease. Hope you feel better. PS you must check out Calgary lapbanders on Yahoo. We get together once a month.
  22. Hi If I'm really desperate for a drink after eating I will suck on an ice-cube. It does help and then I try to keep busy until the hour goes by. Good luck.
  23. Yes we are waiting for progress reports and piccies because at the moment I have to live through you.LOL
  24. Hi Jenelle I sipped on soup all day otherwise I would be in pain. Soup is a liquid and will go through your band easily. You were full before because of all the swelling which is going down. So now just keep drinking your liquids, soups protein shakes. You'll be fine.
  25. Congrats Clynn You never knew it only cost $8000 for band and a hubbie thrown in for free.LOL
