  1. You might want to talk to one of the Drs. about this since it's a medical issue.
  2. Great job Michelle! Sounds like everything is going well for you. Your trainer sure has you working hard!! I am surprised they aren't encouraging you to have more calories. My nutrionist wasn't even happy with 1200 but oh well! I am losing so that's all that matters (and not starving either). Keep it up!!!
  3. No, you are supposed to drink lots of water! You can't drink for at least 40-60 min after eating, which is a tough thing for most of us but once you adjust it's ok. I drink so much water or I eat ice when I feel like munching on something. You just aren't supposed to drink your calories. Starbucks, Jamba etc.. A lot of us do have protein drinks for breakfast as you are usually tighter in the mornings. I personally don't eat anything solid before 10 because I am tight. As the day wears on you get a little looser and can eat lunch and dinner (typically). Drinking enough water is usually a key ingredient of weight loss.
  4. Hey Danielle it sounds like you are a new person! I just went to Disneyland so I totally know what you mean! I actually fit into the seats and didn't have to fake feeling sick to get out of the rides with smaller seats etc... Good luck and make sure to take care of yourself!!
  5. Hi there, Cathy is right. If you can do it young, do it! That's great that you have surgeons locally that will do the surgery for you. As for your question regarding fills, yes the band does get tighter with fills. You only get fills (and get tighter) when you need to though. The only thing that's ever caused my band to tighten on its own is major stress. Each person has a different optimum fill level. Just be aware that smoothies are real calorie killers. I too love fruity smoothies but rarely have them because it can be like 300+ calories in them. With the band they encourage solids almost exclusively, but it's always good to indulge once in a while. Good luck! Karen
  6. Congrats Trina. Now you'll have to re-learn how to eat!! Just remember to take it super slow once you hit solids.
  7. I've also been worried about my arms, they have always been flabby even when I was much thinner. I found this lipsculpture doc in Beverly Hills- check out his before and after pics for arms (and everything else). It's very impressive. www.dralanbittner.com If that link doesn't work if you google liposculpture he comes up first.....
  8. What I would like to know is how are you doing 18+ months post op? Great! Very happy. Have you kept the weight off? Still working on it (had a baby 6 months ago) but losing about 8-10 per month Do you still get PBing? Only if I am not careful Do you still feel restriction? Do you still get fills? Restriction is great, I'll get a fill when I need one but haven't needed one since April Have you had any problems where you needed to have the band removed? Nope Do you see yourself removing the band in the future? No way Have you gone back to your old eating habits? Couldn't if I tried (though I sometimes do binge on cookie dough but it's rare and I pay for it with Pbing or feeling awful Has your "new tummy, pouch" stretched, and if so does getting fills help?No stretching at all If you could do it over again would you, even with all the complications that you may have had? Absolutely Has your body wanted to reject the band, was it something that you were able to over come? I think this is very rare I haven't heard that 10% thing but everyone has different stats they quote and studies, very few have actual data to back up what they say... Chances are if you follow the rules you won't have any complications. Like everything in life, there's always a chance of something going wrong but it is really rare to have major problems, much more rare than with GB. Good luck! Karen
  9. So I also have a black pair of dress pants size 16 and a pair of bermuda shorts, tan (they are actually a 14 but are loose more like a 16). Please send me a message if you'd like me to mail them to you! Karen
  10. I am looking for a good pedometer to wear all day, preferrably something that clips onto pants/shorts. I bought a cheapie and got what I paid for.... I want a good one that can keep track for a week, steps and calories burned based on my actual weight.......... Any suggestions?

  16. Isn't that unfair??! My husband was at 190 and decided to lose weight and lost 11 lbs in 1 month without really trying. I do wish my husband would exercise with me though, that would be fun.....

  21. Thanks again guys! I seem to have slowed a little on the weight loss but I am really happy and just trying to keep it up and be a little more active than I have been.
  22. Hey Donna, That is great news!!! I think most of the skeptical husbands come around when they realize how serious we are!! Good luck and you will be so happy with your decision (and I bet your hubby will be too!) Karen
