  1. Hey Linda, I am glad you got unfilled. I have been there too and it was not fun at all. You are right, sometimes slower and smaller is better even though it's frusterating! I hope you still have some decent restriction after you can eat again! Karen
  2. That is amazing!! Way to go!
  3. you look great!!!
  4. Ooh thanks Dawn!! That's what I was going for.......
  5. That is so funny Jessica I was just thinking that. I sent some of my old pants to someone on here and I actually miss 2 of them! Weird, but those were my skinny pants for so long I must have been attached to them....
  6. I agree with Julie. My ticker shows from my highest weight ever (not pregnant) of 235. But it's up to each person I think. whatever you want! It's your ticker.
  7. Wow Cathy! You have done so well in 3 months! congrats!!
  8. Thanks guys!! I always love to see other people's pictures and it's so great to be able to put mine up and be proud!
  9. Here it is: #1 the Day I had Evee, March 20th (weighed 248 the day I had her! But I did lose 20lbs pretty much immediately with so effort...) #2 From this past weekend (at 180- big deal! Haven't weighed 180 since my first semester of grad school) THE BAND RULES!!!!!
  10. I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. That is such a difficult thing to understand. Good work on the 30 lbs and just keep looking to the future.
  11. You are looking amazing as usual! Congrats! I've only got 5 more to go for 175 and I can't wait!
  12. wow!! what magazine will it be in??
  13. I agree about the clothes. I have been finding lots of stuff on clearance. I got 2 pair of pants today for $6 and $8 at target, they are so cute! I have been trying to get cheaper stuff because they only last like 5-7 weeks...But can't complain about that can we!!?
  14. I would recommend Benefiber over anything else. I used FiberSure for a while and it made my IBS so much worse. Then I found out that what it's made from I think Inulin or something like that, can make some people bloated and constipated. Since switching to Benefiber I am fine!
  15. Hey Barb, I know exactly what you mean. I can't see your stats from this screen to see when you were banded and fill info, but that happens to me when I eat too much and PB hard. Sometimes it can be pretty painful but it's rare. I would say take a close look at WHEN it happens. Is there certain things that you eat? Are you eating too fast when it happens? That kind of thing. Hope you feel better soon!!! Karen Also if it continues and you are worried, I would call Dr. Ortiz and see what he thinks.

  18. Hmmm. Well since solids are fine I wouldn't worry about it. Try less ice maybe? Sometimes when I drink cold stuff I can feel that I am tighter. I would stick to cool water instead of ice water and see if that helps?
  19. I think you're too tight. I believe they say that liquids should go down with no problems. The exception is if you are stuck or if you PB'd, that can irritate the band and make drinking difficult. But for usual days and no issues, water and thin liquids should not cause this. How is your solids intake?? I've been so tight once that liquids couldn't go down and had to have an unfill. It was very unpleasant!! Good luck. Karen
  20. Hey Dianna, I can feel your frustration in your post! It's really difficult to compare yourself to others. I do it too, and it makes me feel bad! When you have good restriction and are eating less you'll start losing. That's a general answer, I know, but it's true. The benchmark is if you are losing 1-3 lbs per week you are doing well. If I were you I'd focus less on the scale moving and try focusing on watching WHAT you eat (I liked your comment about quality vs. quantity), make sure you get enough fiber, protein and water, and try exercising a little bit each day. I am certain that if you have restriction and are doing those things, you'll start losing. Take it slow!! Remember that the band is a lifelong tool and you didn't put the weight on over a few weeks so it's going to take a while to take it off! Karen
  21. True =( I don't buy them or risk a cookie pig-out
  22. alright!!! old clothes that fit again are the best!!
  23. Hi Heidi, I am sorry that this is happening, especially right before surgery. It sounds like you are both in agreement about the separation, which I guess is one positive. When my first husband and I separated (right after my son was born, of course) I felt relieved because I knew it was right. Please take steps to protect yourself with regards to your money though. Please don't feel that the last 9 years were a waste- you got 2 amazing kids out of it, right? I always say that I would do it over again just to get my son and I would. There are always positive things even when things look bleak. I hope your day goes well today... Karen
  24. Ok, thanks everyone! I intended on always going to the OCC but I just can't pass up a $20 fill!!
  25. Just curious. I might be getting fills for $20 at Kaiser here in NorCal if they approve it after Xraying me tomorrow. But they don't use flouroscopy- and I've only gone to OCC for many fills/unfills and trust them. Actually the nurse didn't seem to know what flouroscopy was. I am paranoid about them messing the tube up by missing the port. They've only been doing bands and fills for a year there. But with airline costs now I can't go down to OCC for a while. So if they say yes I am going to give it a try...... Just wondering if anyone knows the rememdy if they do jack up my tubing???? Karen
