  1. It's best to call your doctor immediately and tell him what is going on....liquids should pass through your band with No problem! Just tell him your concerns about taking out to much of the fill...it may take just a tad out to make the fill perfect!
  2. I bought a set of abs work out CD's and was so excited to do it and well, the exercise was great and I got a good work out...well the next day I was very sore in my port area, I thought maybe it was just my muscles around the area, well it hurt for 2 weeks straight...when i went for my 2nd fill I told my doctor about this and he said that I may have to loose a little more weight before doing some stomach exercises, he encouraged a lot of walking...I was banded on 2/5/08...so its been over 3 months and it still hurt my port area....so be cautious!!
  3. I Just got my second fill last Wednesday, but like some of yall I had NO restriction until now....And believe me enjoy it while you can....although its wonderful not worrying about counting calories right now, it is like a trial and error period, it's been rather interesting and painful....but I'm getting the hang of it...but its not unusual not to have restriction at first! >
  4. Make sure you are getting your calories...checkout the sodium content in things you are eating, this will keep you retaining fluids(this means no loss of pounds)....Keep counting calories and listening to your body....The weight loss will catch up!! =D> Good Luck!
  5. =D> =D> =D> Way to Go!! Congradulations! Isn't the band WONDERFUL!!! > > >
  6. I have had trouble with pork, sausage and chicken strips or dry chicken...other than that no trouble unless I don't chew well...then up it comes...and hurts like heck....
  7. I was banded on Feb. 5, 2008.....got my first fill March 12 they gave me 1.2cc....I go for my 2nd fill on May 24....I was banded by Dr. Felix Speigal in Houston, Texas....I had to pay the 15,000. I wish I would have seen this forum, before my surgery....However....I love my band and my doctor!! > My first fill I haven't felt a whole lot of restriction...Looking forward to 2nd fill!!
  8. I had my surgery on Feb. 5, 2008 and my first fill was 1.2cc....and I really can eat whatever I want..just been counting calories and waiting on 2nd fill....your post makes me sooooo happy...I was thinking it was just me.....Yea...I go on May 24th for my 2nd fill! =D>
  9. Way to go!!! Thanks for sharing the excitement with us!! Yea.... =D>
  10. I myself would give the band a chance to work....if that's not satisfying enough, then talk to your band doctor and family physician about the other meds.....Good Luck.... >
  11. =D> =D> =D> GOOD LUCK!!! Way to GO!!! It will be great!!! =D> =D> =D>
  12. Very Normal....No worries....I still don't have as much restriction as I would like to have after first fill...but getting ready for 2nd fill next month.... > Can't wait....
  13. To Me slimming is like throwing up, but your not throwing up....if I eat to much I fill it when it starts coming back up, but instead of it rushing up, it slowly comes up(the food and the slime) and I spit it out...its really gross, but keeps me from overeating!!
  14. I had the same thing happen with me the first time I tried a creamy soup....Oh My...I thought I was going to die....I was hurting so bad, and really wanted to make myself throw up....but was scared I would hurt my band....so I took a Nausea Pheneghan and some of my liquid pain medicine and went to bed and cried myself to sleep, when I woke up 4 hours later, I felt great, like nothing happened...and havent' had a episode since....I think it was my bodies way of saying it wasn't ready for that thick liquid yet....so I waited another week and a half and tried some and it was fine!! who knows....Good luck! Don't give up!!
  15. I had the same problem.....It will soon pass....don't worry yourself....just drink plenty of liquids...
  16. I THINK you can take anything right now for gas, but once you have surgery you will probably have to find a liquid gas relief or Walking helps out a lot.....Hope this was helpful...Have a Blessed Day!! Good luck to your family,LOL!
  17. Good Luck for both of yall! Also, have a great and safe trip!! God Bless....And welcome to the first day of a new you >
  18. No, it didn't hurt at all....No I didn't do the Fluro....My doctor is in Houston, Texas, and so I went to one of his fill centers...he came in prepped my belly put the needle in and gave me 1.2cc...I had to stick around and drink a bottle of water and then wait around town a while and make sure nothing came back up...everything was great .....I did my liquids and softs now I'm on regular food...the strange thing is I never feel hungry....I have to remind my self to eat...I feel the restriction when I'm eating, one time have I felt some pain, but I was eating a chicken breast and I don't think I chewed enough and it was kinda uncomfortable, but I quit eating and waited an hour and drank some tea and away it went.....I have lost 8 lbs since my fill last Wednesday....but that includes the liquid diet afterwards....but its great nothing to worry about Yah for us, for making such an awesome decision! God Bless..... =D>
  19. .....That is what Public is ALL about!! Thanks Snowbird for the great information! Have a Blessed day everyone! =D>
  20. The fill needle wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...A little stick and that was it...so for no problem with anything I've ate....Yah!!
