Hey Mookslick, I was banded in Houston on 2/5 by Dr.Speigel, who was your doctor....How did it feel eating solids that soon after surgery??I just got my first fill on 3/12 and was on liquids for 3 days now on soft foods....

I was banded on 2/5/08 and since Preop I have lost upto 25lbs, but gained 3 of it back....I go for my first fill this Wednesday...Yeahhhhh! Let the weight loss began!! >

I lost 25 lbs just from the liquid diet for preop and postop, and I was concerned about gaining that back since I'm now on solids, but I was told not to worry about that right now, just count my calories(900-1000) a day, and that when I get my first fill on 3/12, that I will start loosing my weight from the band...don't know if this helps, but its what I've been told....Good Luck....

I was a little swollen from the gas pressure for about a week...

HELLO!! I am going through the same thing!! I got my band on 2/5/08, I lost 25lbs on the Preop and post op liquid diet...I go for my fill on the 12th, it was originally on the March 3rd, but they had to reschedule, so I am freaking out trying NOT to gain back the 25lbs...I didn't get any saline in my 10cc band at surgery time...and right now I feel like I could eat anything in site...I'm just trying to count calories right now and drinking lots of water....We will get through this...Have faith.....when do you go for your first fill??

What Seminar did you get to go to?? I went to one that did the same thing....just wondering if it was the same doc....

Thanks Dolittle for that information, I was banded on Feb 5, and I go for my first fill next Monday....What does restriction fill like? Can You feel it when your not eating?? I'm soooo excited to be going to get a fill....I've lost 25 lbs since Post OP and right now I'm just counting calories so I don't gain my 25 back....But, I'm so glad you posted that information!! Hey just saying HI, I got my band on Feb.5....It wasnt by Dr.Ortiz, but it was by a wonderful physician...I have lost 20lbs so for, however that is just from the liquid diet...I get my first fill on 3/3...can't wait....I'm feeling good...just nervous going on my 4th week and knowing I will be able to start slowly on solid foods, I don't want to gain the 20 lbs back before I get my fill(and scared to death of my band slipping)....So how are you feeling?? Hopefully we can keep in touch and help each other since we were banded so close together Misty

Hey I just got my band on Feb.5 and my biggest fear is my band slipping....YOu said yours slipped, what caused it to slip and what were your symptoms.....This is my biggest fear with the band, and I don't know why??

Oh okay....so I want never enjoy spaghetti again?? thats okay, the suffer is worth it in the long run...Thank you for replying.....This is really nice to have this forum, the doctor that did my band is over 400 miles from my home and so I don't get to attend his support groups and they don't offer it online like this...so thanks again....Misty

Yea, I have my timeline...what I meant is "is it uncomfortable eating solid foods at first.....if so when does it get better?"

I just got my band on Feb.5...I'm up to creamy soups and potatoes...when can you comfortably eat solids without hurting your band?? I'm so scared Im going to do something to hurt my band or cause it to move....Any advice! thanks Misty
