  1. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you!!!!!! I am so happy for you and I can't wait tio see pictures.
  2. There is no fluid limit in your 21 day post op time frame. Most people end up not drinking enough and get dehydrated. This is not a calorie counting time either. You need as much fluid as you can get and your diet above doesn't seem like you are getting enough fluid at all. You should basically be sipping throughout most of the day. When I was first banded, I was vomitting a lot and it was from being dehydrated and not drinking enough. See, contrary to popular opinion, the majority of a normal persons water intake comes from food. In fact, about 80% of your water comes that way. So since you are not eating food you can see how you would need to up your fluid intake to make up for missing all the fluid in your foods. Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Romero and Dr. Martinez all told me the same thing, you need to be slowly sipping some sort of fluid throughout the entire day. They told me that 3 bottles of gatorade and 3 bottles of diluted applejuice and another 3 cups of broth and then several bottles of water were a good gesstimate of how much is needed during the first 21 days. Now, I am not positive whether or not, that was an individual thing or meant as a bases for everyone, but I do know that there is no limit on fluids during the 21 day time period.
  3. A lot of bandsters HAVE to have a protein shake for breakfast and even lunch sometimes because they are much tighter in the morning and can't get any food down. And for me, the skakes keep me fuller for much longer.
  4. I loved the Atkins shakes, plus they kept me full the longest. if you like them, then you would probably liek the GNC 100% whey protein mix. I love it, the chocolate caramel flavor. MMMMMMMM
  5. You have done such an awesome job! Good for you and congratulations!! You look fantastic!
  6. Good for you!!!! I know how much you were looking forward to this. So, are you getting a tummy tuck and breast life now and the implants in 6 months, or just the lift now? Errr January I mean.
  7. Butting in here....for me, now that I have GLORIOUS restriction, it feels like a great heaviness in my chest area. Almost like I ate a gold ball. This feeling comes after a few bites.
  8. I heard they make See's candy with donkey saliva. Just kidding!! But thought a little visionary there might help you stay away from it! Works for me!
  9. The scales are evil dirty monsters, STAY AWAY don't even look at them, judge your weight loss by the clothes you wear or even take your measurements to keep track that way. That nasty ugly scale will kill you!

  11. Definitely stay away from broccholi!! I had some horrible gas from that too! I used to love it and eat a ton, but now I can only have very tiny amounts or I will get that god-awful pain and gas.
  12. I think the Atkins is a good diet to follow for now. It features lots of protein which is important and veggies which fill you up and are important too. The protein keeps you full for a long time too. Just remember to take your time and chew a lot!
  13. I am IN LOVE with Dr. Martinez!!!! He is the most handsome thing that ever walked the face of the earth! MMMMMMMMM You are very lucky to have him. Both he and Dr. Ortiz are wonderful. And don't worry about going alone. Although I had someone with me, lots of people went alone and were just fine. You will meet up with someone else and you won't feel so alone. But, you will do great and all will be fine. The OCC and the hotel take great care of you!
  14. My port scar is the only one you can still see and it isn't so bad. My skin is very very pale so mine probably looks worse than most, but even so, it's not bad at all.
  15. Throw out that darn scale!!! Seriously, with all the bloating and water you won't see the scale move until a week or so after surgery. No worries, It will move.
  16. It's a good idea to keep some of that liquid anti-nauseau medicine around at all times just in case. I did have some vomitting shortly after surgery but it never hurt my band.
  17. Oh my God, I am so sorry to hear this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.
  18. Try to hang on, not much longer til you can have creamy soups and you will feel so much better.
  19. Good luck, hope the weight keeps falling off!
