  1. Or my personal favorite, be able to look in front of a mirror and see my hoo-haw instead of a huge apron of fat!
  2. There is an old post that was a lot of fun regarding this same thing. Everyone got on and bravely told about the new experiences they had with less fat on their body. It was like a poll and it was fun. Fun because there were things that could never be uttered in polite society unless the person you were speaking to, had the exact same situation. So it was relieving, in a way to realize that you weren't the only one that was happy to finally be able to reach your behind to wipe properly, LOL!!! (for example) or to shower with more ease. Or to be able to tie your own shoes. Wish I could find that again, it was great!
  3. I had no problem or pain either. The stomach is actually the easiest place for a shot. It has the least amount of nerve endings than anywhere else, or something like that. The diabetic doctor told me that when I was there for my neice. He said it was much less painful there than in the arms or legs. And sure enough, my neice gives herself her injections in her stomach rather than anywhere else, and has been since she was 12 so you know it must be true for a kid to do it.
  4. For what it's worth, I have the larger VG band and am up to 10CC's in there and still have only slight restriction. I was banded last March and only lost 38 pounds since then. Not sure what that is all about, but I am on my way back to the OCC on February 28th for a check to see whats up. I too wondered if there was such a thing as the band being too big but was assured it was not. However, I do find it funny that after all this time and all these fills, I still only have a slight restriction. I am definitely eating less and healthier that is for sure, but not the tiny amounts the people on here write about. So, hopefully, I will have an answer in 3 weeks.
  5. I;m banded and can still drink lots of water. But don't gulp, just sip.
  6. Nope, I didn't have anything like that at all. If anything, since I have been banded, I am a whole lot more healthier ALL around. I'd say it was from all the vitamins I take and eating much much better since being banded. So, not sure your problems are related but who knows. Anything is possible.
  7. Don't do it!!! It's only 21 days and if I could do it, then you can too! It's only 21 days out of a lifetime, you CAN do it and it is important to follow the rules!
  8. I have flown several times this past year and I always ask the attendant for a seat belt extension as I am walking onto the plane. I have never had a problem or any rude remarks at all. And I started out as a size 26.
  9. Good luck to you and I wish you the best!!! You will do fantastic.
  10. Hi Bill!!! So glad to see you and happy you are doing so well. I actually made an appointment at the OCC for February 19 to check out this band of mine. I am already at 10cc in my VG band and still don't have full restriction so they want me to come in and get it checked. So, I got really CHEAP plane tickets and was able to make arrangments, so hopefully I too, will get some answers. Take care and best of luck to you!!
  11. Yup, going on liquids for a few days will calm that stomach down. Hope you feel better!
  12. My biggest problem has actually been water. If I accidently take too big of a gulp, I have a horrible time with it. Also, bacon. Can't do bacon no matter how small.
  13. Do they offer fluroscopy in Old Bridge NJ office? Do you know what the charge is for it?
  14. Ii think you can get some non-flavored protein powder at GNC. I know a gal who pust some in her coffee each day and doesn't even taste it. So, I would think you could put some in most things you eat for an added boost. I haven't tried it myself, but that is because I like the protein drinks. (GNC 100% whey protein chocolate caramel MMMMMMMM)
  15. Don't worry, lots and lots of people go alone. Plus, you are bound to meet up with someone else there and will have someone to hang out with. Just make sure to pack as lightly as you can and use something on wheels to make it easier. If I could go with you, I would! But you will be ok, I promise!
  16. Can I go with you? I can supervise you. I really think it is best for you to have a chaperone. Seriously!! That way, I can test out each ride before you and let you know how it goes. I can test the pool too and let you how that is. Oh, and Animal Kingdom, maybe I ought to go ahead of you just to be safe. Yeah, I think you will most definitely need me to go along. When do I start packing?
  17. Dolittle is 100% right! Do it for YOU, not your dad, or your mom, but you! You won't regret it. It can only help you to live a long and healthy life! If you don't do it, you will be filled with regrets and what if's. As long as you have done your research and you are comfortable with your decision, then don't let anything stand in your way! Oh, and I truly don't think you will find a single soul on earth who is SORRY for having it done!
  18. I keep a log on Spark People to track what I eat each day and for my weight it states that I need between 60 and 127 grams of protein each day. So, it really depends on your weight.
  19. Oh My God, I feel so sorry for you! He actually blames marital problems on your body parts? I'm sorry but I'd drop him like a hot potato. I can't even fathom how you could put up with that. He needs some serious mental health help and I truly hope you know that and don't believe a word he says! WOW, sorry to be so blunt, but I just can't comprehend him even saying that! And, I hope you pointed out all the body parts of his YOU didn't like.
  20. WHat a great post, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
  21. WOW, you look incredible! Good for you!!! Mrs. Parris, you look pretty darn good yourself!
