Do, did you cross by foot in Jan??

I went for a fill yesterday at the Fill Centers USA in DENVER, NORTH CAROLINA that willT recommended. If you will remember, the doctor of a large medical group actually does the fill himself. He does not use fluoro but has a way of giving you a concise fill and spends quite a bit of time with you.

I'm in Knoxville, so it was a 3.5 hour drive for me (a bit closer for me to go there than Roswell, GA).

I went to Roswell two weeks ago to get a fill (I needed one bad), but was told that I didn't need one and, in fact, it was questioned whether they could put back in what they took out!!!!!!???????? Needless to say, I was a bit upset, not only was I not getting a fill but the cost (visit plus fluoro) was a lot of money to spend for no reason... okay, I was REALLY UPSET. Having the band as long as I have, I know when I need a fill and I know what restriction feels like. So something strange happened that day and I cannot explain it.

ANYWHO.... The Denver Fill Center doc added .8 cc to my band (which is quite a bit for a gal who did not need a fill).

I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone near enough to travel there to get a fill. If I lived closer, he'd become my primary care physician.

I'm on liquid diet today so won't know how great this fill is until the next few days. Will keep you posted!!!

I made this tonight for dinner and OMG it is like a liquid taco! I used the full can of mild enchilada sauce. Then after I put it in the bowl I added some mexican blend shredded cheese, a scoop of sour cream and a teaspoon of red La Victoria taco sauce and it was AMAZING! I loved every bite and so did my hubby!

The committee didn't drop the ball:

1. We were waiting for confirmation from the OCC to see if the docs/staff would participate

2. We were waiting for confirmation from the OCC to see if we could get a fill discount

3. Would you like to be the Committee Chair NOMINATED!!!!

Since we were unable to get particpation from the docs, we're moving the location to Vegas as requested by the majority.

WHY? Did the "committee" drop the ball? If so, I'm sure we can form another...the date has been voted on and so has the place. And if you had a PS and worked out rates with a hotel, I'm sure we can do the rest here on the forum.

I would like to if anyone else is up for it! Let me know, I'm sure we can make this happen!

Okay lapbanders, by poll, we chose the weekend of April 24-26, 2009 for the lap band forum get together.

lso by poll we selected San Diego as the location. San Diego was chosen as the location in hopes that the OCC physicians and staff would participate and hopefully offer a discounted fill price for that weekend. Vegas was our backup location. Since we have had no response from OCC docs re their attendance and/or fill discount, we're moving to VEGAS!!!! per the request of the who matters most - YOU!!!!

I will be getting banded in January. I won't be able to afford flying to mexico for fills so I was wondering if anyone else on here had used any of the fill doctors in Nashville, Tn? I live in Chattanooga and we have a bariatric institute here but the list of fill doctors I got from the OCC didnt have fill doctors listed here in Chattanooga, although the institute is huge (and expensive at $18k-$24k for a band) which is why Im going to mexico!

Any advice is great... I heard about a doctor in Murfreesboro too who is suppposed to be good?

Im just getting nervous about something going wrong or having some sort of issue with the band, I want to know there is a doctor within driving distance that can help me! *crossing fingers I dont need that though*
