  1. Erin,

My husband and I stayed a night here: http://www.oldtown-inn.com/ and it was very reasonable. Not fancy but clean and well located. They offer a free nice breakfast - homemade waffles - YUMMO and have an outdoor swimming pool. FROM THE WEBSITE:

Within walking distance of the Inn, you will find Historic Old Town, California's most poplular State Park, featuring restaurants, shops, museums, and artisans. Accross the street, at the Old Town Transit Station, you can take the trolley to downtown San Diego, the Convention Center, Qualcomm Stadium, world-class shopping, and the exciting city of Tijuana, Mexico. The Old Town Inn is just 2 1/2 miles from Sea World, and less than 3 miles from the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Downtown, and miles of beautiful beaches and shopping.

I am going back for my first fill in August and want to stay in SanDiego afterwards a night or two and spend a day at SeaWorld....

Has anyone done this? And if so do you know of a clean, affordable hotel close to SeaWorld?

  2. Glad you made it home safely though a bit bumpy.

You will start to feel better over the next few days. The airplane ride home alone can be heck!

Remember to try the Chicken Tortilla soup recipe posted on the forum. It's good. I loved Campbell's Soup at Hand Creamy Tomato - I started to crave it.

Your buddies patiently await your return to us:)

  3. Okay I just logged into Chatzy and received a message regarding a recent update on Chatzy. Now maybe we can understand why there was a glitch or two. I doublechecked and anyone can enter who knows the address.

    So, try again Jena ;)

As posted earlier, chat is free and available to anyone who knows the address and the password. Refer to pinned topic GROUP CHATS MONDAY NIGHTS.

    See you there.

  4. During my liquid phase, I learned to LLLLLove chicken broth :) It was soooo good. And then as soon as I hit creamy soups, I fell in LLLLLOOOOVEEE with creamy tomato soup!

Who would have thought I would have looked forward to chicken broth or tomato soup.

Then again, on the pre op diet, I was in LLOOOOVVEEE with Lean Cuisines ;)

So, basically, it's all a part of our journey, and we're going to LOVE being smaller!

    Good luck!

  5. I can do liquids without a problem. I usually buy the large diet lemonades and drink it until it's gone. I once tried to take a huge drink of water from a water bottle before I remembered I shouldn't do that. I did feel a bit uncomfortable afterwards and never tired that again.

I was told that we are not supposed to feel restriction with liquids.

  6. Since there was no chat feature activiated on the forum, a few members of the forum started using a free chat site, i.e. Chatzy. It is free, and open to anyone who knows the address and the password. It is not sponsored by the OCC but is used by members of this forum to discuss band and non-band issues. For more information, please see GROUP CHAT thread that is pinned on the forum.

The chat room is mostly used in the evenings and sometimes during lunch hours. However, I've seen activity in the chat room at times other than those. Some members post topics like: "Care to join me in chat?" and usually someone pops in for a few minutes. We have experienced, successful banders using chat, as well as those scheduled to be banded.

The address and password are posted on the forum in several places. Chat is always open to anybody wishing to use it. No one has been banned. No need to register an email. Not sure where the registering an email came in, but you are not required to do that. Must have been a glitch. I tested it today and no email was required. I do want to say that I had to register an email address when I first used Chatzy and I have never received any SPAM. So, in the event, Chatzy does require users to register an email, it shouldn't be a problem for any one. We're among friends here and doubt that any of us are trying to hide our "online" identity.

Obviously, because it is a public chat room, if you wish to have a private conversation with someone, you might consider using another service.

If there is a way to do as Kimmie asked, open chat on this forum, I think that would be a wonderful thing to happen and I would utilize that feature.

Until then, Chatzy is open to all.

  7. Cloud 9? Don't you mean Size 9 :):)

I was supposed to send my size 20 clothes to someone and for the life of me I can't remember who it was! I am so sorry! Please send me a PM and I will get them off to you if you still need them. It is mainly jeans and shorts. I gave all my shirts to my Mom.

Also, I had to share this news! I bought some size 16 jeans at Old Navy and wore them once about 2 months ago. They were very tight. I rarely wear jeans cuz it is so darn hot, but I put them on this morning and they fell to the ground! Off to a size 14 I go..who would've thunk it? LOL I am on cloud 9!

  8. Gaining might have to do with swelling, gas, traveling on the plane, etc.

Definitely refer to your post op diet for liquid diet guidelines.

    Again, welcome to bandland!

Okay guys...im new to this banding thing. First question: I was banded on the 2nd. I have gainede 4 pounds since the band. Please tell me its just gas/air and that will change soon.

Second questions....i dont understand how MUCH we should be drinking!! Just one glass for breakfast, one for lunch, and one for dinner??? Please advise??

  9. Mine were painless as well - didn't even feel the needle stick. Obviously, having your fill done under fluoroscopy is the key!

I know sometimes the unknown can be scary, but remember you have friends here who have been before you. So, relax, it was painless for us and it will be for you ;)

    And then guess what?

    You will have restriction!

  10. I was told to eat three solid meals a day and to avoid snacking. Are you eating more than three solid meals a day? Also, are you getting enough protien? What are you eating when you do eat? Do you eat solids? Are you waiting an hour after your meal to drink your water? Are you drinking enough water?

Give us an idea of what you ate yesterday. Let the successful banders give you some tips.

I have about 3.6 cc in my band or so says the doctor here in chicago. I am small amounts every four hours. However i have not been able to loose weight. sO when do you get another fill? In the papers given to us by the OCC it says that if you have no restriction is time to get another fill, however i feel that i have enough restriction, but yet not loosing enough weight. I eat about 1200 calories per day and workout about 5 days a week burning aroun 500 calories per day at the Gym.

    any suggestions!! :( (
