  1. Please do not think ALL people from Texas are this way! I promise, I'm totally normal. Sometimes I get bothered by how people from Texas are perceived by others. We do not ALL have cows in our yards with farms out back! Just wanted to clarify in case anyone thought otherwise! Denise
  2. Sorry you're not feeling well either, Michelle! Both of you get some rest and feel better soon. We miss your posts on the forum...nothing like us being selfish, huh! I haven't left the house all day, but not from being sick....we were riding out Tropical Storm Eduardo! Nothing much....just ALOT of rain! Feel better! Denise
  3. I'm sorry you're feeling lousy. It totally sounds like a stomach bug to me. Can you try the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) and see if you can eat any of that? You can substitute crackers for toast if you can't get bread down. I really don't think it's band related according to your symptoms, but I'm no doctor! I hope you feel better soon! Denise
  4. You really do have to force yourself to drink and eat at this phase. I wasn't physically hungry either, but the others are right...you must drink something of substance for your poor, tired body! Feel better soon, and check back with us later to update your progress. Denise
  5. Vix, I was super excited to see your message this morning! It really means so much to have support from your closest support person! We all look forward to taking this journey along with you and if you need to ask "silly" questions....go right ahead...we've all done it and will continue to do it! That's what makes this forum so fun! Have a great day, and I really am happy for you! Denise
  6. That is great news! Major milestone to achieve! Congrats! Denise =D>
  7. Yaaayyyyy Jessica! I'm so happy for you and your success on the scale! It's amazing if we truly follow the rules laid out before us, the band actually works in our favor! Easier said than done, but at least we know what we need to do. If only I didn't have a husband and a 5-yr old living w/ me, I could get rid of all the tempting food! HA! Seriously, I'm doing okay...just a little hard sometimes watching them eat cookies and ice cream! Keep up the good work! We can do this! Denise
  8. Ohhhh....I'm so sorry for little Arabella! I'm so relieved that you all were outside when it happened. Someone's looking out for her! Most of us treat our pets like part of the family, so I know what you mean about the surgery bill. My little dachshund, Rudy had back surgery a few years ago, and we didn't even question spending the $2000 for that! I'm adding Arabella to my prayer list to get better fast. Denise ps...good job on not overeating in an extremely stressful situation! You passed the test with flying colors!
  9. Amber, I'm hoping and praying you don't have a leak in your band. There is another member on this forum that has a leak and they've been givng her the thicker saline...I can't remember who it was though?? Just know we are thinking of you and hope you get your problem solved asap. Denise
  10. I wouldn't worry yourself too much about eating solids, just yet anyway. I had my first fill done this week and started back on solids yesterday. So far, so good. Nothing has gotten stuck and I'm very aware to chew my food extra good. I haven't noticed a huge amount of restriction yet, but I'm definitely eating less than weeks 4-6, which were my Bandster Hell weeks. I had absolutely NO restriction and could've eaten just as much as I did before being banded, but I managed to stop myself by sheer willpower. I didn't lose 1 pound during those weeks and was very frustrated. However, I'm happy to say that since my fill on Monday, I've lost 3 more pounds! Yayyyy! Hang in there and try your solids. You'll be surprised how easy it is once you try it. The goal is not to overdue it and gain back what you've lost before getting filled. If you can accomplish this goal, that's half the battle! Good luck! Denise
  11. WOOO HOOOO PAULA! You are doing so well, and I love the 10% goal idea. That's awesome! Denise
  12. We are all wondering and hoping things went well for you today. Just so you know we are all thinking about you and hoping your hubby is on board to support you. Fingers crossed.... Denise

    Denise's Before Pics

Pics of me and family, friends, etc. before I lost the weight. Hopefully one day I'll post "after" pics!
  14. I'm so happy for you! It's hard when you struggle and feel like you are doing everything in your power to lose and it doesn't come off as quickly as we like. I'm going to be so happy when my scale goes below 230....I'm ready for the 220's! Before you know it, you'll be in the 160's and closer to your goal. Thanks for mentioning Fitday.....I'm going to set my account up tonight. Denise
  15. I'm so excited for you! Being under 200 must feel so great! You have accomplished so much...just remember where you started! I'm sure you are on top of the world....keep it up, and thanks for sharing with us. I hope to join the Onederland club about 30 lbs from now!
  16. Paula, you crack me up! We've all been there and done that, but you are so funny for actually putting it out there for us to read! I love your honesty! Denise
  17. Good for you Cathy! It's always nice when jeans start fitting differently. I haven't really lost that much weight, but I can really tell when I put on jeans, so I must be losing inches. You go girl....pretty soon you'll be buying those hip hugger jeans and short tanks tops to show them off!
  18. I can totally see a huge difference, so I'm not sure what you are upset about....you are looking great! Like Cathy said, where has your butt gone?? Also, in the side view, you look so much smaller, even your arms! Keep it up, and thanks for posting the pics! WOO HOOO! Denise
  19. Good info to know. I'm interested in purchasing one for our family too, but was waiting for Christmas. About how much do they cost anyway?
  20. Thanks for being so brave and transparent for all of us! You really do look fantastic! You'll probably be one of the few who doesn't end up needing any plastic surgery done after reaching your goal. It looks like you are toning up nicely from all your workouts. Keep up the great work and thanks again for continuing to inspire so many of us. Denise
  21. Totally normal to gain the weight immediately after surgery. I gained 6 or 7 pounds the day after and then lost it all plus 5 more by the 4th or 5th day after returning home. Hang in there....it will be gone before you know it. Welcome to BandLand! Denise
  22. I'm so glad your first fill went well. So did mine (on Monday)! I'm not sure what size band I have, but my dr. put in 2 cc's. Best of luck to you on your journey to solids. I started mine today and haven't had any issues so far. Denise
  23. I just had my first fill on Monday, and it went well too! We are on similar schedules, so I like to see the progress you are making.....You are doing great, girl! I'm hoping the fill was what I needed to kickstart my weightloss. I've lost 3 lbs since Monday, so that's a good start! I can't wait to eat a real meal and see if I have good restriction. I think I do, because even the soups and shakes are filling me up. Good luck with your progress....keep it up! Denise
