  1. These are ALL so exciting to read. I love NSV's! Mine is going to buy jeans with no elastic waistband and not even trying them on in the store. I just picked out the size 16 and brought them home and WAALAA....they fit! I didn't even have to suck it in to button them, so maybe a size 14 is just around the corner. Most of my shirts are also getting too big now. I can't wait to go buy a tight fitting shirt and actually not have any bulges showing! That's my goal! Denise
  2. Hey Karen, I would love to take them off your hands. I just moved into size 16's! I'll put my address below and then you can ship them and I'll gladly send you the shipping fee. Thanks so much! Denise Address: Denise Mathews 10422 Harnwell Crossing Dr. Spring, TX 77379
  3. Being from Texas, we love our Mexican food. I went out and ordered 2 tamales with chili con carne and ate 1 of them and had about 3 bites of rice and beans! I was stuffed! Denise
  4. You are doing so good, Jessica! Keep up the good work and soon you'll be counseling all the newbies on what to do! :-) Denise
  5. I want to get one for us for Christmas this year. Are they getting any easier to find? What is a decent price to pay?
  6. Congrats Stormy! I'm glad the journey is beginning for you and your hubby now. It will be extremely helpful to have a partner doing this right along with you. Best of luck on your trip home and just concentrate on healing for now. Denise
  7. Just a quick note to let everyone know we survived Hurricane Ike in the Houston area. It was utterly devastating to Galveston, and lots of other nearby areas. Our neighborhood looks like a minor war zone. Our house is fine, just no power going on the last 48 hours. They said we could be up to a month with no power. My brother lives nearby and has power, so we are all bunking in at his house for a few days. I just wanted everyone to know we were okay and I'll be offline for awhile. If anything good is coming of this, I'm eating very little! No time to think about eating lately. I'll be back soon, I hope! Denise
  8. Congrats on getting a trainer! I do have a question though. Did you tell the trainer you had been banded, and do they do anything different as far as exercise plans go for bandster's versus regular folks? Just wondering if it makes a difference in their regimen they give to a client. Thanks, Denise
  9. I'm thinking of you and wishing you a successful knee surgery and speedy recoveries from both procedures! Get well soon! Denise
  10. I can feel my port, even since surgery day, but not the band. I didn't think it was possible to feel it through your stomach. That is very freaky! Denise
  11. I thought I was missing something too.....it is September, isn't it?? Those lapband drugs can be mightly potent! Denise
  12. You are looking so great! Thanks so much for sharing your progress pics with us. You are so pretty! Denise
  13. I too used my pre-op weight at my starting point. That is when I actually began the process of my lifestyle change, so I would definitely count those 5 pounds you are thinking about! Denise
  14. Hi Paula, I've missed seeing your posts on here! I'll be praying for you to have a speedy recovery and begin to feel better soon! Denise
  15. Thanks for being transparent for all of us since so many of us look up to you and your progress. It's nice to know that even the most successful bandster's can have a hard time and fall off the wagon only to jump back on and keep the progress going in the right direction! You have and always will be my inspiration! Great pic! Denise
  16. A massage always works for me! Or, my hubby watches my 5-year old and I go to see a movie w/girlfriends!
  17. I'm getting my 2nd fill tomorrow morning. The first fill hasn't really worked that great, although I can tell some foods get stuck easier than when I had no fill at all. Other than that, I've pretty much just stayed the same weight the past 2 weeks. I did lose about 5 pounds total between fill #1 and fill #2. As long as I didn't gain, I'm okay with it. I'm really hoping for greater restriction so I can lose at a faster rate. My doctor (local in Houston area) wants me to try and wait 4-5 weeks between fills, so tomorrow will be 5 weeks. I still consider this time period a little bit like "Bandster Hell" because I can still eat more that I should before getting full. I haven't lost hope, mostly because of what I've read on here that this is typically normal before you find your sweet spot. So, we'll see what happens after tomorrow! Denise
  18. According to the list, I've lost all of the pizza I've put away during the past year! Yayyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Great job, Stormy! You did great on the video, and thanks for sharing it w/ us here at the forum. Good luck to you and your hubby on the surgery. You both will do great, and it will be wonderful to have a partner along for the journey! Denise
  20. Yayyy Vix! Do everything you're supposed to do and you'll recover very nicely. Welcome to BandLand! Denise
  21. I'm so glad you got a good 2nd fill! I'm having my 2nd fill next Friday! I'll be referring back to your posts to see what you did to get through it. I got 2 cc's the first time and I'm hoping for the same again. Not too much restriction the first fill, but I had absolutely nothing in my band before that. Good luck and thanks for posting such imformative things for us all! Denise
  22. Good for you, Kim! I can't wait to be 176! Heck, I'll be happy just to make it under 220 at this point! I'm hoping for a good fill next week. My 2nd one is scheduled for Friday, 9/5. Congrats to you....you are nearing your goal! Denise
  23. Heidi, I'm so sorry you are going through this difficult time. Please know that you and your kids are in my thoughts and prayers. Denise
  24. I'm sorry you've been so sick, Alana. I'm praying for quick healing for you and that you didn't do any damage to your band. Feel better soon! Denise
  25. Clynn, This is the first time I've seen your progress pics! You are amazing and such an inspiration to all of us. Thanks so much for sharing the pics again. Denise
