  1. I think you're doing great. Just take pride in all your good and healthy decisions. When you're hungry or you "splurge" tell yourself this is a journey, there's bound to be bumps in the road. Just get back on track and really enjoy your progress. Every time you eat some veggies instead of french fries or potato chips really take a moment to congratulate the new you. If you slip up think "this isn't me anymore" and think "wow i onlay had a few handfuls of chips, i used to eat the whole bag before i'd stop".

And most importantly, forget about the scale! This is about losing weight, but more importantly about changing our eating habits. The weight loss will come. Sometimes i just say that over and over in my head. "the weight loss will come". Its making good choices that is most important while we wait for the scales to budge.

  2. What a great post!! I'm ashamed to think of how much i would scarf down. Especially when stressed. I used to eat 3 egg mcmuffins every morning! And when people weren't looking that was the worst. I used to stay up extra late so my BF would go to bed and I could scarf a little more before bed. Now I barely get over 1000 calories! I miss solid food right now but i feel like food is an abusive lover that i need to break up with!

  3. How much is too much? I'm on day 14 post op and I had around 1300 calories today...

Over the last week i've had anywhere from 500-900 but today i had 2 creamy soups because i was hungry.

But now i'm worried, which is crazy considering my pre banding average calories.

My main concern is that i'm able to tolerate more and more each day with out gas pains or the fullness feeling. Did i somehow stretch my band?

So what do you all think?

On another note i've managed to move the scale 2 lbs this week as well, so should i stop worrying so much about calories and quantities?

Just want to stay on the right track! I can't wait to see some of the results others have seen.

  4. I thought they said no crunches or sit ups, not exercises that "work" your abs. I think it's more of the contraction that can flip your port than anything else. Like for instance when i'm walking i try to "hold it in" so my posture is better and that is a form of ab work... Am i at risk? I really don't think so. Let us know what Dr. O says... i'm curious.

  5. Ok, so i had to go to court today and then they sent me to the DMV and i waited 2 hours only to have the clerk be TOTALLY rude to me and sent me away without helping resolve my issue. :(( :(( :((

I was really mad and it hurt my feelings that she was so mean for no reason. I thought about eating to comfort myself but since i'm only 8 days post op my options are pretty weak. I imagined french fries as i sipped my half juice half water...

Anyway, i just wanted to vent because i have to deal with customers all day and i have never been that rude to anyone much less someone who's just waited 2 hours for my attention.
