  1. Actually there are three more coming with me. There are four members of my family being done the same day, so there probably isn't much room for anyone else that day. :D We are flying in early Sunday morning, we wanted some time to play in Tijuana before the surgery so we should see you there.

 Way to goooo! See you guys there :D

  2. I'm also schedled for the 28th. :-)

Great! So that makes at least 2 of us ;-) I do not know of anyone else being scheduled for the 28th but nebsmom's date is I believe the 29th.

My husband and I will arrive on Sunday evening. Scheduled arrival (with Airtran) is 8.40 p.m.

    When will you arrive ?

  3. Hi Doinfi9 and welcome ><'

I too will be banded by Dr. Martinez on April 28, 2008.

At the beginning I was a little sceptic about the fact that Dr. O is not "on duty" this day, but after talking to KimmieD76 and reading all the posts on this forum about the great experience everybody had, I am sooo looking forward to Monday and I think with Dr. M we will be in very good hands !

Don't know when your date is, but maybe we get a chance to meet? I wish you :lb11:

  4. Scared, Every time I eat my port site sticks out a little. Just keep in mind that your port is nowhere near your band. Your band is at the to of the stomach just under your sternum and left breast. The port is closer to your belly button. The port is anchored to your abdominal muscles and has scar tissue around it so when you eat and your "big" stomach (not your pouch) expands it pushes against your abdominal muscles and pushes the port out a little bit. My looks like a little lump there when I eat. I bet you don't have a lot of truncal obesity (stomach area). Most of the time only the people who have less fat around their abdomen experience this. In fact, the more weight these people lose the more it sticks out. Dr. Martinez told me that I would probably have to have my port replaced with a lower-profile port and possibly even put it behind the muscle when I lose my weight. That is kinda aggravating but a small price to pay if I actually lose that much weight.

Do you know if this replacement with a low profile port would cost anything/how much ?

  5. I am having my first fill in Roswell, GA on May 3rd at 11:00am. Just checking to see if anyone else will be there that day. I though I heard someone say they had an appointment that afternoon.

    Good morning :-h

I will be banded next Monday but maybe I can join you another time to get "filled" :D

I wish :lb11: for your fill and keep us updated !!!!!

  6. Hi Mamamichelle,

This is a really good question !!!

I came up with my goal weight of 150 lbs like this ... I got married being a good 180 lbs. already feeling a bit uncomfortable, but still in the "happy/ok range", the best result I had dieting (in the past 10 years) was a proud 155lbs. and I felt soooooooo great, oh yeah and I remember me saying " I will never ever going to get as fat as I was...:" ROFL

I figured I set my goal at 150 for now thinking the "best feeling ever" -5lbs, but I am more than happy if it will be a little more. I guess most important thing is how you feel about yourself, right ?

Another aspect for me is ... being german, I still do measure in kg instead of lbs, so 155 lbs would be 70 kg and 150 lbs would be 68 kg and I just do not want to have that 7 ;-)

BTW: You are doing AWWWWWWSSOOOMMME :cheerleader:

    Hat's up !!!!!! ><' ><'

  7. Hi nebsmom,

You are not alone ;-) my band date is on April 28 and I already started the pre op diet like a week ago, so far I lost 6 lbs., but then came the wedding of a friend on Saturday ..... All of a sudden I thought -WAIT! This is probably the last "all you can eat" event and head over heels, I went for it. Oh boy did I feel bad about myself!

I am looking so forward to my new tool helping me on my way to a new and healthier life !!!!!

  8. I'm know you will be fine, KimmieD was done by only Dr. Martinez and she is doing very well! I'm sure you can contact her to ease any fears!!

    Best of luck!

OMG!!!!!!!!!! MamaMichelle !!!!! That new picture .... you look stunning =D>

I know I will be fine, after reading all the good stuff about the staff on here and talking to Carolyn when I set my date, I felt comfortable with "only" Dr. Martinez .... sure would have loved to meet Dr. M though .... LOL

  9. Hello,

Dr. M was in surgery with Dr. O the day I had my surgery. He came in my room to discuss the surgery with me and was great!! :P Just before my surgery, Dr. O came in to talk to me, joked around and made me laugh. They're both wonderful Doc's, you'll see!! Best wishes on your surgery, you'll be in the best hands!! Darlene :-h

    Thank you Darlene! ;)

I think so too, I guess I get the hot paper panties just signed by Dr. M ,LOL

  10. =D> I am so happy! I am just back at hotel lucerna after having surgery yesterday. The surgery went well and everyone is so kind. I actually had lost one more pound on Dr Mirandas scales! The nursing staff is wonderful as well as the doctors. I found Mrs Ortiz to be so sweet and concerned for all of us like we were her children for the few days we are here. Any way, I guess i need to go in and change my signature to show the pound I lost and that I had the surgery. Thank you everyone, you have been great support!!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS !!! ><'

This is the beginning of your new life ... ENJOY =D>
