  1. I read last week that a Dr. Neal does fills in Olympia WA. Does anyone know the cost? Thanks
  2. I finally pooped today. It was very small but I feel so much better! I assume that less in means less out but I was so regular before. I think the passing of the "matter" made my stomach feel SO much better! Things are movin now!!! WAAHOOO!
  3. Hello Ladies~ Thanks for all the replies. I have been taking phazyme faithfully since the day of the surgery. I took it with me to the clinic! Also I have been walking quite a bit. Today my gas pains are almost all gone. Im only a couple of days out and feel pretty darn good. Thank goodness because I go back to work tomorrow! I have been trying to really think about this hunger thing. I am 100% certain that my body is truely hungry. Its not head hunger. My belly is moaning and groaning and saying "feed me lady". Today I had a protein shake one day early. I felt so much better for about 2 hours. As far as sleeping goes.... I dont know if you are able to sleep on your back but if you can put a pillow under your knees it helped me the first 2 nights. Now im able to sleep as usual. Also since my daughter is only 19lbs I have been able to pack her around on my right hip w/o any discomfort. I feel like things are getting back to normal. I did the dishes and laundrey today. I really think Ill be better after Im able to eat (drink) the soups! Im pretty excited with how good I feel today. My port site has some minor swelling and bruising but its to be expected! Have a great day everyone and thanks again for your support.
  4. I was banded on 4/29. Everything went great. My belly is a little swollen but looks good. I have horrible gas. I also feel very hungry. I feel like I could eat an entire meal. It just keeps growling and growling. I feel like a lot of my pain is hunger. Any advice???? Also, thanks to everyone for their support. I survived being away from the husband and baby. I slept SSOOOO much and it felt great. Of course it seems like she changed a bunch since I left but both baby and Daddy survived.
  5. I was 4th in line yesterday for my banding. Initially I was quite nervious. Then I met the staff. Everyone is so great. Before I knew it I was out of surgery and back in my bed. The kept up on the nausea and pain meds and fed me those wonderful polsickles. I had an excellent experience. A toast to the first day of the rest of my like. Thank you all your support! This forum saved me!.
  6. I have been packing my bags (well my carry-on) tonight!! I leave in the morning and have surgery on Tuesday. I have so many feeling about going. My husband is sad that he doesn't get to go with me. He's worried about me having surgery w/o him there. I keep telling him that it will be fine but of course Im nervous too. Its also the first time I have left my baby over night. She's 8 months old. I know that long term the 4 day trip is well worth it but man is it hard to leave. I'm traveling with a friend who is also getting banded so I will have good company. I hope the days go by fast and I can get home to my family. I'm looking forward to making new life changes!!
  7. Hello~ I too am traveling with a friend. She is also getting banded! We arrive at 1800 on the 28th! I look forward to meeting you! Nebsmom
  8. I have asked a couple of times but havent found anyone yet. Is anyone getting banded on 4/29? I arrive the evening before and look forward to relaxing.
  9. AMEN SISTER! The week before I started my pre-op I had pizza, mexican food and honey bbq boneless chicken wings. I thought I was going to blow up every night for 4 days. I really felt like I needed to say my food goodbyes if you know what I mean. Now its Thursday and Ill be banded on Tuesday. I have already lost the weight that they wanted me to lose to be at the appropriate pre-op weight. Tonight Im treating myself to a chocolate chip cookey! SSSSSHHHHH!
  10. I scheduled mine about a month ago. It seemed like forever. Now Im getting on a plane on Monday!! It goes so quick but I totally know what you mean.
  11. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It must have been an aweful 2 weeks. Thats a lot to deal with. As far as slipping goes................ I read quite a bit about it. It stated that slipping can come after chronic/long term vomiting. It specifically said that an episode of the stomach flu will not cause slipping. I cant remember where I read it because I have been reading so much about the band but I did look up slipping specifically. I hope this helps.
  12. LOL your posts always crack me up. =D> Did you try the Phayzime? Im not sure if Im spelling that right but they are little red pills and they work SO good.
  13. Wendy~ THAT IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!! You must be so proud of yourself. =D> Its awesome. Way to go. Im just a few days behind you on the banding! Looking forward to watching your success! Nebsmom
  14. There has been a lot of talk on here about writing the surg off. Is this true. I ready the info for Canada on here but wasnt sure about the U.S. Anyone have any info??? Thanks
  15. So I start my pre-op diet in 3 days. I found a protein drink called "PROTEIN" by premier nutrition. It has 30g of protein, 1g of sugar, 5 carbs and 160cal. I have the chocolate flavor and its actually good!! They come in pre-made 11oz cardboard containers. I keep them in the fridge so they are really cold. Then I drink them with a straw nice and slow. Im amazed how yummy they are for whats in them. I bought them at Costco but I know not everyone has a Costco. Perhaps you could order them online if interested. I think its a great protein shake for before and after the band!! ENJOY!
  16. I'm a RN and I access ports on a daily basis. My friend is getting banded on the same day as I am and is also an RN. We are going to TRY to get educated on fills. Since there is not a local fill center in our area it would save us a ton of money. It doesnt seem like that big of a deal when youre doing something like this everday. With that being said................. I have been reading the forum for quit a while and almost everyone says to go to a professional fill center. I suppose it depends on how comfortable you are with your skills or the skills of a another RN. I figure if I can work at a level 1 trauma ER then doing a fill seems rather simple??!!!???
  17. Hello Portland Ladies. Please keep in touch with me! Im Vancouver Wa and getting banded on the 29th of April. SO EXCITED!

  20. I think my husband thought that making them while I was at work was helping me! Hes very lean and works out an hour a day so a few cookies for him is nothing. You know how guys are. There is a dozen left and Im not having any today. My pre-op diet starts on Monday. Im geared up and ready. I have been trying to take little bites and chew a ton. Wow, its a reflex to swallow before its totally chewed. I have to keep practicing!! Fortunatly my sweet husband is totally on board with my changes. Though like any good husband would; he always says "I love you just the way you are"
  21. I have had a cold for 5 days with some nasty nasal congestion. I cannot taste ANYTHING. When I got home from work tonight my husband had made chocolate chip cookies. I ate 4 of them. I couldnt even taste the first one. I wasn't even hungry. They just SOUNDED good. I have such poor contol. I cant wait for my assistant to be installed in a couple of weeks!
  22. Thanks Micheleisme! Any idea of the cost of each of those? I can always call if you dont know!
  23. Hello!~ Im getting my band on the 29th of April. I dont think I will be able to go back to OCC for my fills. I was hoping that someone in my area had good info in affordable fills. Thanks :-h
  24. Wendy~ I wouldnt be down on yourself at all. We all have an addiction. Most of us food. Yours just happens to be cigs too. No big deal. Think about how you'll feel in 1 yr. Thin, and with good healthy lungs!! And what a great way to be a role model for your other family members!! Be strong! It will be worth it!
  25. I was hoping to meet a few people on the forum that are being banded on the 29th of April. It seems like some of the other groups have continued to stay in touch!
