  1. Trudy, I can really relate to what you're going through. I had a bit of a rough time with my family at the beginning of August and started eating the junk food again. I have been on and off since then. I am going for my 3rd fill hopefully on Oct 11th. I will have to give up Thanksgiving dinner (Oct 11th), but I can also have turkey dinner on Christmas day, so I'm not too worried about missing it. I've also been experiencing some "sliming" issues as well, because when I eat all this "yummy" bad food, it tastes so good, that I want to eat it really fast. Yah, no.. doesn't work too well. I started the liquid protein shake for breakfast like LisaL suggested but the afternoon, evening is difficult for me. Like the other's said... thank you for posting and sharing. We are all here for the same reason, and we will all succeed, and I'm sure everybody will have their off days, and that's okay.. nobody's perfect. ><' ><' Anita

  2. Mindy you have done absolutely wonderful... congratulations! I'm hoping my next fill will give me the "sweet spot" that I'm looking for. Sounds like your 3rd fill did it for you..

    3rd fill 8/4/08 local/no fluro 2.9cc weight 251 11lbs lost between 2nd & 3rd fill 25lbs since being banded

Current weight 9/30/08 217lbs weight loss since 3rd fill = 34lbs for a total of 59lbs since being banded.

TOTAL weight loss including pre-op 73lbs.

It was not until my 3rd fill that I finally started dropping some weight. There were times I would read the forum and it seemed like everyone in the world was losing faster than me.. I, daily, had to remind myself that I did NOT get fat overnight so there is NO WAY I was gonna get thinner overnight. (sigh) slow and steady... slow and steady.. it's not a race. Eventually I will get to the finish line :)

  3. Shouldn't the moderator's have maybe brought this to the attention of the OCC dr's??? I'm not exactly sure of their rolls? I'm sure there must be an explanation as I certainly can't see Dr. Ortiz or Dr. Martinez not returning your calls if they knew you were waiting and it was that serious? I would hope that there would be a good explanation anyways.

  4. Hey Taz... Anita here. I live in Port Coquitlam. I go down to Arlington for my fills. I have not gone back to Tijuana. If you check out the NorthWest Fills website and go to "Education" they will tell you, that you really don't need floro, except for once a year. The girls down there are absolutely wonderful. I am waiting for them to come to Bellingham. I just had my 2nd fill on Aug 22 and probably won't need one for a while... I have a friend who lives in Port Moody that was banded by a Dr. here in Surrey. She's my main support, but this forum is a close 2nd. Alot of great people on here, and always good trusting advice.

  6. Excellent advice Cathy. Kimmy.. I knew I needed a fill when I could eat almost as much as I used to without even thinking about what I was doing. I had my 2nd fill Aug 22nd and I have tons of restriction. I had my first sliming episode when I was at the airport on my way to California. I didn't chew a piece of a chicken nugget well enough I guess. It didn't come back up though.. thanks goodness. Anyways... right now I have alot of restriction in the morning, and still in the afternoon, I have to be careful with what I can eat. Right now I can eat about 3 small chicken wings and 2 small pieces of zucchini. That's it, that's all. I'm not losing much in the way of pounds but I can certainly see the inches coming off. If you feel any restriction at all, I would hold off on the fill right now.

  7. I finally got it uploaded.. (my son "misplaced" the usb cable for the camera), however, now, I can't get my picture to upload on my profile. I have sent our saviour Mama Michelle an SOS, so I'm sure she'll have it up real soon. I am heading to visit my sister in California from Aug 29th to Sept 2nd, so I won't be on-line until I get back. Anyways... I had my 2nd fill Aug 22nd and was given 1.00 cc. I now have 1.75 total. I can really feel the restriction. Definitely need to have my tea or hot lemon water in the morning before I can drink my protein shake or eat something. It definitely feels finicky though. Sometimes I can eat more that other's. I have noticed that my "upper" belly seems to have gotten just a little bit larger, but that's because when I had no restriction between say Aug 6th and Aug 22nd, I was able to eat just about anything I wanted. And yes.. unfortunately.. I did. I went through a really stressful time the fiirst week in August, and went back to emotional eating for a bit. I am doing much better now, and trying to not to eat carbs. I know that's what's sitting underneath my boobs right now! Those damn carbs! I hope all of you are keeping well, and I look forward to catching up with all of you in the next week or so. Anita... aka.. AllCdnGirl.. Neeters..

  8. Hey Amber... One thing that might help you through this one, is to know that these people that are going to be doing your fill tomorrow have alot of experience. I didn't worry at all about mine. I had heard so many good things about Robin and Kitty from Northwest Fills that I was looking forward to meeting them, and knew that everything was going to be okay. They have a note on their website, that says you only need floro once a year to make sure everything still looks good. The doctor here in BC doesn't use floro either. Some people say you should have it with every fill but I don't see why. My port was flipped. Robin tilted, Kitty got the needle in.. and it was done, just like that. Be positive... you will be just fine Amber. Make sure you let us all know how you did. Good Luck! Anita
