Thanks for all the info. The OCC recommended me to Cosmed. The reason I am doing it post-op is because aquamid is not FDA approved, but has been used for years in other countries. A girl in my dermatologist office went to Brazil and had it done and looks great. I am also doint a consult for a tummy tuck and breast lift while I am there. I will let you know the outcome. Two days until surgery!!!!

I am going to Cosmed the day after surgery to get aquamid filler put in my nasal fold and lower lip. Did anybody out there have any dealings with Cosmed while they were in TJ?

I know the feeling . My date of 5/07 is coming really fast!! I am so excited, but I am also scared to death that there will be complications, and I will be there all alone. Hang in there, I know we are making the right choice!

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I have the same questions as you do. I am going to TJ Tuesday and will have surgery Wed. Afterwards, I was thinking of doing a modified Atkins, but would like to have feedback from those bandsters that I have lost. My biggest fear is getting the band and not loosing. By the way, my daughter's name is Dallas Monai and we call her Monai. I have never met another Monai (or Monet)

Hi there!! How soon were you guys who have already been banded able to get around OK? I'm having surgery Wed., coming home Friday, and Saturday night I am supposed to go to the Tim McGraw concert. That should be OK, right? Also, I am supposed to have a filler (aquamid) put in my nasal folds at Cosmed on Thursday. Did any of you have anything other than the banding done while you were in Mexico

Dani, Hi there!! I am getting banded on the 7th of this month. I made the decision because of the yo-yo dieting I have been doing for years. I know I can lose the weight, but keeping it off is the big problem. I am nervous, however, I am confident I am making the right decision with the right Dr. (Dr. Ortiz). Yo-yo dieting is so hard for the body and I want to be around and healthy when my kids grow up! Lots of luck.

I can't believe it. I just had a freak out attack and ate 3 cookies!! I have been doing so good, it is only my 2nd day on pre-op and I have already cheated. What will happen if I don't lose my weight? I have to lose 10 lbs. before next Wednesday

Hi there! I live in Coral Springs and just found a Dr. that was highly recommended in Margate, FL. It is Dr. Wizman. He uses the floro and does the fills at the hospital. It is expensive though, $230.00 for the hospital, and $75.00 Dr. fee. However, St. Pete is a long drive for me, and I'm not sure I can get back to TJ since I have two children and it is very hard to leave them - one is just 3. I am having surgery 5/7 so will not need a fill before mid-June. The Cleveland Clinic charges $857.00 for a fill!! yikes

Hi there!! I am coming in on the 6th also. Are you coming with someone or alone? I will be alone. I will be arriving on Continental at 3:39 p.m. I am having the pre0ops and the surgery both on the 7th. Maybe we can meet up on the evening of the 6th if you do not have plans.

Has anybody heard of Dr. Hernandez in Hialeah Florida? He does fills on Mexican banded patients using the floro for $350.00 inside the hospital. This is the closest facility I have found.....

Another question, is there a computer in the hospital to go online and e-mail, or do you need to bring your own laptop? Also, do cell phones work inside the TJ? I am going by myself and need to contact my family when surgery is over. Any suggestions?

I know exactly how you feel. Actually, I have been on such a roller coaster ride that my husband and mother both think I am wasting my time and $$ going to TJ for this surgery. I have absolutely no support, and I guess I understand and have done this to myself. My success in this surgery is so important to me, not only for myself, but to prove once and for all that I can succeed at this weight loss. My goal is not to get skinny, just to be able to feel like people are not staring at me for being so large. Lots of luck to you!! You'll do great.
