  1. Something very wonderful happened to me today. For the first time in over 12 years I am below 200 pounds. Yes, finally I am 199.5 and loving every minute of it. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 16 and I no longer have to shop in the plus size anymore. I can actually use the regular sizes now. I know that I am not done yet and I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but this milestone makes me want to keep moving forward. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!! ><'

  2. I just went for my 2nd fill on Saturday to the OCC and I too had 2.0 cc put in the last fill and Dr. So was only able to get 1.6 cc. He said it is very normal with the first fill because of air still trapped in the band. So he put the 1.6 cc back and added .7. So don't worry you might get restriction because now you are working with 2.0cc instead of 1.0 cc. Good luck on your journey to better health.

  3. Lisa, you are so right. When I started this journey I was 267 and nobody ever paid me a compliment or even looked twice at what I was wearing. But only my husband. He always made sure to tell me how beautiful I looked, even I knew I didn't. I would always tell my family " I am beautiful just fat". Now that I have lost 53 pounds everybody looks at me and tells me that I look really nice. It feels good but I tell myself "why didn't you notice before". I went to a family party and my husband aunt saw me having a piece of cake and she told me that I better put it down before I gain all my weight back. I couldn't believe it. By the way nobody knows that I got the surgery so they just wonder how i did it. Well I just wanted to share a little about the difference I have noticed with people and how they treat me.

  4. I can totally relate to you. I got my band July 6 and that was gratuation month. It seem like everybody I knew either had a gratuation party or just a party. I had fathers day also and I couldn't a solid thing. It was horrible. What I just started to do was not go. I did not care if it was rude or not. I had to think about myself for once. It was a really hard time but it was all worth it. As you can see I am 53 pounds lighter so I do not regret being "rude" and not showing up cuz know I do show up just much slimmer. You can do it!! Leave and go do something else if you start feeling uneasy. Before they get there have your meal and have a protein shake on hand. When you feel like eating have the shake and if that doesn't work then just walk out and go for a drive and remember that you are doing this for you not anybody else. YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!! Good luck. ;)

  5. Like many people here on the forum I too got my surgery with Dr. Ortiz in tijuana. I was very scared and worried about my decision to go to Mexico, but after I got there and meet everybody I would do it all over again in a heart beat. I am so happy with my band. I got banded in July and I have lost 52 pounds. It is the best decision I ever made for myself and it was all for 1/2 the price that it would of costed me in the U.S. It so worth it.

  6. Hi Barb,

I get pain similar to that, too. It's gas pains that feel like a heart pain. I usually get it when I am exercising, especially running, It usually goes away after I start burbing. ;) I would still keep an eye on it, it's just my experience that it is gas and probably nothing to worry about. B) I'm glad to hear that you have restriction. I will talk to you later.
