  1. Welcome to bandland! Did you start taking your drugs a day early? Zebras huh?
  2. I am a northwesterner, Where and when? I would love to meet some fellow bandsters.
  3. ElaineC, you are dong just fine. You are right, liquids pass right on through. Hang in there!
  4. Congrats and welcome to your new life!
  5. I too live in the great Northwest. I am very close to the ocean so it does not get real hot days here. I planted my garden in containers up on my decks this year. The deer and other critters ate more of our garden last year than we did. I have zuc squash, peppers, greenbeans, brussel sprouts, and tomatos so far. I also have a window sill full of herbs. It looks like my tomato plants are starting to get blight, anyone now of a cure? Woke up this morning and found two squrrils on the deck looking at my plants! I thought moving everything up high was the answer, guess not.
  6. Thanks for the great information, I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me in greater detail.
  7. PaulaBee, thanks for the laughs. It was a good one.
  8. Congrats on your progress, you rock. I have a burning questioin for you though. Weren't you afraid the Doc would puncture your tube with all that pocking around. I am getting ready to schedule my first fill and I can not make up my mind whether I should go back to the OCC or go local. I hear so much about the florascope being so important. What are your thoughts, if you don't mind sharing. Thanks
  9. Thanks for the interesting info. I know that I fit the example they used. I have been over 100 pounds overweight for over 32 years. I have only begun this journey with a 21 pound weight loss and I have already been able to stop some of my medications and I have not even had a fill yet. With out a doubt the best thing I have ever done for myself was to get banded.
  10. Congrats, Dr. O told me after I got the band I would only be losing the weight one more time. That was worth all the money in the world. No more yo yo! Welcome to a supportive forum and a new way of life.
  11. sugar free popcicles and fudge cicles, yum yum. That is how I made it.
  12. You look amazing. Keep up the good work. You look much younger and healthier. >
  13. Cmarie, I too have trouble swallowing pills since the surgery. I did not have troubles before. My bloodpressure pill is the worst one. I wonder what causes this? I am suprised you did not get a call back. I called Dr. O cell phone when I was having trouble with my incission and he answered right away. He also answered his email very quickly. Glad to hear that things have worked out. I have started crushing my pills, yuck
  14. OCC realy is wonderful. They did not charge me a dime for the second surgery or transportation. They even paid for one night at the hotel. Thant would never have happened here in the states. One more reason I am very happy that I chose them for my banding. Caroline
  15. Thank you all for your concern and thoughts. I am doing much better. The doctors and nurses at OCC took very good care of me as Jme mentioned. They were wonderful as are all of you. No, my port did not flip. As Jme stated I had a very rare reaction from the blood thinner they gave me prior to the surgery. They moved my port to the right side of my body and in fact gave me a new tube and port just as a precaution that they had been jeperdized in any way due to the reaction. I am healing, of courxe now my belly looks like it has really been through a war from all the incisions and old scars from previous surgerys Iwantbanded, thanks for worring about me, hope you are doing well. Jme, my band sister, your awesome as usual
  16. Blazn, your right, it is an investment! thanw for the prayers I will take all I can get at this point.

  19. Well, I just emailed dr. O pictures of my incision and the injection sight of the blood thinner and I am flying back to TJ tomorrow night. I have a serma hematoma. I have to have more surgery to move my port to a healthier spot. (
  20. Carrie, Glad to hear that everything is going well. Don't worry about those two pounds. I also was up a few pounds when I got home but the next few days the numbers really started going down. Hang in there and keep us posted.
  21. I was banded May 27th and will be getting a fill sometime in July, not sure of the date yet.
