  1. Good afternoon all, thank you for all the supportive messages. I am feeling much better about this whole thing thanks to you all. I have kept it covered as Dr. O instructed and letting the water really wash it out in the shower. It is not infected or red. Real wierd though, I can see the port when I look in the hole . Calicat, mine is in the center too. You all are awesome =D>
  2. The drainage has slowed down. I was suprised how much fluid was in there though. It only leaks now when I put any pressure on it. On a positive note this had made me forget that I am on clear liquids until tomorrow. I get a protien shake :lb12:
  3. Yes, that is a good sign. He told me to make sure and call him if anything changes. I guessd I am just afraid that if I go to a doctor here they will mess up my band. thanks for the support, it means a lot.
  4. Thank you for the response. I do not have a fever. The site is warm and sore. I can not tell if it is red due to the bruising. I am following Dr. O's directions, it is just scary that he is so far away.
  5. OK, I am very nervious. I took my morning shower and when I was drying off I noticed that the port incision was draining a pink liquid, a lot. It soaked a washrag. It has been painful but I thought it was a normal part of the healing process. I called Dr. O and he said to keep it clean and covered and it should heal in three or four days. I am to keep him posted. I am hoping someone else has had this happen and assure me that this is ok. I am very nervious. Wish I lived closer to Dr. O so I could have him look at it and tell me everthing is OK. It continues to drain as I sit here. Any info would be greatly appreciated. :lb12: :lb12: :lb12:
  6. I was banded on May 27th and have had minimal pain. I would call it discomfort instead. I do run out of steam pretty quickly though. Hope this helps.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I am on my way to the store to get some liquid yogurt.
  8. I am four days post op. Can I start drinking the protein shakes now? As of today I have only drank clear liquids. I am starting to feel a bit light headed when I stand up. Thank you in advance for your response.
  9. Today has been such a rush, I was not suppose to have the surgrery until tommorrow, but as I was speaking to Dr. Miranda she got a phone call. She then told me that there were two openings right now if I wanted to take one. Well of course I said yes! The clinic staff are amazing and Dr. O is a doll. With the assistance of all of you seasoned bandsters and the staff here this has been a very pleasant experience. I do not know how to thank all of you!
  10. Thanks, and Happy Memorial Day to you too. Paula I will keep your son-inlaw in my prayers.
  11. Thank you for the information. I deal with this issue everyday. I am on many medications to help with this. I was hoping that I would not have this problem a few days prior to my surgery. I can gain up to ten pounds in one day. It takes a bit longer to get rid of it though. I am not giving up, I just hope the long flight to SD does not make it even worse. Sometimes my body just works against me I appreciate all your help and caring. Do you know have they ever cancel a surgery due to lack of pre op weightloss?
  12. :lb12: I am scheduled for my band on May 28th. I am afraid they will not let me have the band when I get there on the 27th because I have gained eight pounds of water weight. I have adema problems and they chose right now to hold on to fluids. I have increased my water pills but I am not sure if I will have the eight back down in only a few days. Have any of you had the same issues and did they let you have the band anyway? Thank you in advance for your responses. I gained all that I have lost ( ( (

  14. Thank you all, My heart doc asked me and I did not know the answer. Now I do
  15. I have a question about the port. After you lose the weight does your port show as a bump on your stomache? Just wondering and I knew that you all would have the answer. Thanks for all the support and information.
  16. I arrive on the 27th and am banded on the 28th. I fly out on the 30th. Shopping sounds like fun. =D>
  17. Thanks for the add.

  18. I will be there as that is the day after my band surgery. Caroline
  19. Congrats on the wonderful weight loss, I know what a commitment that takes. I too have swelling in my leg dirong hot weather. It is very frustrating to know that you are doing everthing right and the scale shows added pounds. I have found that elevation and cool showers or soakings help some. Those support stockings help but in hot weather who wants to wear them? Hang in there, and losing that much weight must have helped if this is the first time it has happened in a while, right? I take nutilite vitamins. They are available on my websight. They are wonderful. If you have a questions let me know. Keep up the good work. Caroline
  20. Congrats on making the move to having a healthier life. Hang in there and instead of telling yourself you can't do it tell yourself you can and that you deserve it! I have been on the pre op diet for 6 days and am down 8 pounds. Let us know how you are doing! > Caroline
