  1. What is a dual group? Congrats Cor!!
  2. I don't know! Maybe my stomach got used to smaller portions. ??? I'm still so glad I had the surgery. Even though I have to wait to get a fill, I'm confident that this was a great choice for me.
  3. Yeah, I'm not so thrilled with the food stage... It's scary! I did eat Mexican food yesterday and I got full fast. Weird! I don't think there is any restriction in my band right now, right? Also, I had ice cream two nights in a row. Argh. Today has been more moderate. I'm actually thinking of doing the pre-op diet again until I get my first fill on November 4.
  4. From my starting point of 222, I have approximately 60-70 pounds to lose.
  5. I have only weighed myself once since the surgery and since the surgery I have only lost like 7 pounds. There's still calories in drinkable yogurt.
  6. Another random thought- when the band is placed, is any saline added at all? Will I notice I have the band when I eat?
  7. Interesting about the tortilla, CindyLou. Thanks for the tip.
  8. I'm really enjoying this thread. Very informative.
  9. TACKY. Push the "ignore" button and move on.
  10. I had one tiny piece of my son's PB and honey sandwich. That is all the solid food I have had. I am very nervous about slipping back into old habits. Drinking kind of just takes the guess work out of it. But I think I will have something solid for dinner. Maybe 1/3 of a bean burrito (no cheese), lots of hot salsa. But I'm still not sure!
  11. Thanks for writing, Charelle. I made my first fill appointment this morning, for November 4. Almost exactly 6 weeks after surgery.
  12. I can eat food today. So what am I having right now? Drinkable yogurt. I'm kind of scared to eat.
  13. I don't have any feedback as I haven't even gotten my first fill but I very much look forward to what the experienced people on this board say.
  14. Lisa, does is seem strange that ONE BITE of chicken made her band slip? I guess it depends on where in her recovery she was. It just seems so wild that one bite of chicken can slip the band. Mind you, I'm not going to try it or anything! What happens if a band does slip? Is it repairable?
  15. Thank you for responding Lisa. Mostly what I feel with my band is nothing. Since a week post-op I haven't felt any restriction. And THAT feels weird to me. Today I had my usual liquid yogurt and some creamy soup.
  16. I'm Day #17 post-op. Yesterday was my daughter's 6th birthday party. A friend made the cupcakes so no temptation with batter there. The same friend gave me a buttercream frosting recipe and I tried out my KitchenAid mixer for the first time. I tasted it to make sure it was "right" and then my husband and I frosted the cupcakes. As I went to the sink to clean, I saw there was about 1/4 cup left in the mixing bowl. I ate it all. That's butter, veg shortening, and sugar. I'm so disappointed in myself. Did I mess up the band???? p.s. yes, the frosting was very good.
  17. You have nothing to lose by calling the OCC. The center number is 1-866-376-7849 (DR ORTIZ) Doctor on call: 619-227-4435
  18. I concur - itching is a sign of healing. BTW, I can feel my port, too.
  19. Thanks for that post, DisasterWalking. It just makes me feel better somehow.
  20. I don't know the answer to this. I have the larger band, too, I think.
  21. Pumpkin pie is easily one of my downfalls. Please post that recipe. Please. Please??
